Ok. Our teacher is really, really stupid. (dumm?)
(He C-A-N be nice. But the most time it's different. -.-)
He trys to teach us a subject, not even he understands.
It' accounting. Do you know that?
He writes someting, we show what he wrote an onter teacher and the other one
sais, that it's wrong what he wrote.
Sometimes his english is worse than mine and we (the students) start to correct
him.
Situation:
Somebody asks us:" Who's your teacher?"
We say the name and the person trys not to laugh out loud. (The other teachers,
too!)
We tried to get an other one, but it's not possible. And that's our final year
at this school!
I think with a subject like accounting, it's possible to learn it yourself. It's
really textbook stuff isn't it? Although having a bad teacher for the final year
is a pain. At least you guys can pick up on his mistakes.
I agree, my friend has started doing school by correspondance (at home) and he
says he's learnt more from books and writing for himself than he ever did off
any of the teachers, and most of our teachers at my school are good ones
Well, might not be the nicest thing to do... but telling him about his
disability to educate in this class in front of the class or others might have a
positive effect.
You can either get a new teacher with this method or a bad grade at the end of
the year.
Quote by tanteikunI would suggest you

I was about to say the same thing. I mean, what does
"you know that you're teacher is stupid" mean?
Edit/Addendum: In all seriousness,
however, it may be a very bad idea to openly make fun of a teacher and to deride
him as being incompetent. While you may feel that he is stupid, he obviously
must have some kind of qualification for that position. Besides, making fun of
him will only make the problem worse, as eroding his self-confidence can only
have negative effects in regards to his attitude towards students.
Think of teachers not as the people who give you knowledge. You have to acquire
the knowledge yourself; teachers only set forth a structured environment and
schedule to ensure that you're moving along at a good pace. They're also there
as a resource if you stumble upon your path so that you can ask them questions,
but my point is that if at the end of a semester you feel that you have not
learned anything, while it is easy to blame an instructor, the blame may in fact
be better directed at something far closer.
teehee... i was also going to point out the same thing as tanteikun did... XP
(grammar-wise)
well, i had a professor back in high school who sounds kind of like the one you
have now. while shinsengumi does make some valid points, there are some teachers
that slip through the cracks. if your teacher really seems as incompetent as you
make him sound, then i would get a group of students (who all believe your
teacher to be unqualified) and lodge a formal complaint with the dean/principal
at your school. however, this may not even work especially if the teacher in
question has tenure...

I'm not just THINKING that he's stupid. HE REALLY IS! Or he's really confused
EVERYTIME he's seen of WHOWEVER!
Just one example of his mistakes:
He wanted to write the word "decrease".
What he wrote first was
"degrease"
after a student told him to write it with "c" he wrote
"degreace"
When we told him, that that's wrong, too he was completely confused and did
understand.
After a while he wrote
"degrease" again. And THAN after I told him to change the
"g" with the "c" he finally understood.
I mean... I don't say, that my English is perfect, but he's the teacher. And
that was just ONE of many examples.
Who knows how many mistakes he makes, we don't even notice.
And if we'd have the chance to get another teacher, the whole class would go to
responsible person.
We're shure that EVERY teacher at our school knows about him.
Just this week he told us something about a new event. I think, its a good idea,
but he said, that we talked about that, but that's not even true. -.-'
Anyway, that's my final year at this school, and I'm going to leaf/ve (? o.o)
the school, whatever happens. ^^
It would be interessting to hear, if you have teacher like him at your school,
too.
(wow. That was a long Post. Sorry because of the mistakes. ^^ *eates chocolate
*gives chocolate to everybody)
My class is in the same situation. Our English teacher is pretty stupid... she
doesn't teach us anything, and therefore most of my class doesn't know very much
English. We're in the final year, too, and we have to pass an oral English exam
in order to graduate. There's nothing we can do about it, because we can't just
ask for our teacher to be changed, no matter how stupid he / she is. *I* know
much more English than she ever did, and it really makes me angry when I say a
correct sentence (like, for example, "Tomorrow I will leave for
Paris", and then she corrected me and said that the right sentence is
"Tomorrow I will leave to
Paris", even though that was wrong. And I couldn't convince her that I was
right, so I ended up being a "bad child" etc. How stupid is
that?!
If you can't change your teacher, I advise you to either find another teacher
and ask him to prepare you (I mean just you, not the whole class) or try to
study alone, by books or by audio casettes. And if you have any kind of
questions you can always send me a PM (PM = Personal Message) here on Minitokyo
In my long educational career, I've had teachers like that more than once.
Really the best option is to teach yourself as much as possible, use textbooks
and the internet. You can still get a great result if you do this, as well as
taking plenty of past exam papers as practise.
In one case we had a teacher who was so incredibly bad, that when the final exam
came around, something like half the students taking it walked out of the
examination hall within 30 minutes (the exam was written BY the teacher
himself...). In the end the University scaled up everybody's marks by a huge
amount so it wouldn't look so bad for them. I know that for a fact because I and
many others got exactly the pass mark, even though we had not even answered
enough questions to get that many marks.
Oh and that was at a top 10 University in England. So if it can happen there it
can happen anywhere! Just gotta learn to rely on yourself when it's needed.
my computer teacher is STUPID, instead of doing work, im hanging around here
talking to you guys, and she doesnt even know! she thinks im doing work! it pays
off to sit in the very back of the room.
I would suggest you stop ridiculing your teacher and work towards a better
understanding of your school district's possible, larger troubles. It's always
easier to laugh at someone than to help them, which you seem to have been doing.
I know several people who teach in public schools, and with what they get (or
don't get) paid, babysitting a bunch of "know-it-all" snots all day
who'd rather be smoking crack or comparing I-Pods than learning, is a pretty
thankless job. You can tear down this teacher all you want, but it only shows
how petty you and your other classmates are.

There is a difference between being thankless towards a highly competent
teacher, and being dissatisfied towards a teacher who is not even qualified to
teach their subject.

What better way to further your case than to equip it with proper grammar
structures and elegant reasoning (of which you have none).

you
You do not have to use the most perfect English here in the Forum. English is
not my native language. To avoid confusion, I double check for grammar mistakes
before I submit, and I enourage you to do the same
Are you in a bad mood?
I already said, that I make many English mistakes. But the main problem is not,
that my English is bad.
The problem is that my (our) teacher is not able to explain how to make it
right.
I'm happy if somebody tells me where my mistakes are, but what you're doing is
not helpful.
By the way, I'm 17. And even if you don't believe it: my English is better than
the English of many other people here.
It's right, that I should start checking my post 1000 times, but YOU really
should start beeing nice and polite to people if they're work with another
language is not perfect.
I'd NEVER talk that way to anybody!
That's my anweser to your post.

"Here" it the country I'm living in at the moment.
if it's highschool, then just deal with it. highschool is pretty much
meaningless anyways. if you are actually trying to learn whatever it is they are
trying to teach, then you can do that outside of class. it just depends on your
drive, as with anything. highschool texts are generally not that difficult to
use, and the subject matter is really simple anyways. the hardest thing i could
imagine is calculus, and even then, books are pretty good at explaining it.
Aloha!
