sounds silly, but i want to know whether this kind hardware exists.. today...

coz i think its quite good when you use UMD's instead of Memory Sticks, but we all know it costs a lot.

I dont understand the question. Are you asking if there is hardware available to burn onto UMD disc's available to the public? If that is your question, the answer is no. That is why Sony is making a killing in UMD sales, because all UMD disk's last that I knew had to be made by Sony, they own all rights to the UMD format...and the way I understood it also that if another movie company wanted to make a UMD movie, they had to bring it to Sony. Now this might have changed since last I read, and Sony may have made available the means for other companies to create UMD's, however the general public does not have the hardware nor media yet available to do such things. So the best thing to do right now is if you are looking to listen to mp3's or watch mp4's on your psp, just got get a 2gig pro duo stick like I did, it's the largest there is and I guarantee you it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying hardware to burn umd's hehe.

Seriously, if people knew you could put DVDs onto Memory Sticks I wonder if UMD movies would sell. But at the end of the day people aren't that smart. For example you can buy software (unofficial) that copies songs from your iPod to your HD for AUD$40, but if you look on Winamp.com, not to mention many other places there are tools what will do the same job, better and for free.

Well thats exactly what I do, I put movies onto my 2 gig memory stick. However, there is a HUGE difference as far as quality that I can tell. I can't find a lot of anime on UMD yet...and if it's on UMD I'm sure it's expensive and not too many episodes on it.

nobody is gonna buy the UMDs or buy the PSP for much longer I'm afraid....my cousin dropped it on accident ON THE CARPET and it wasn't very far maybe a a foot or so and the screen got a hairline crack and wont work...and he just got it. The PSP has alot of problems it's too delicate...good luck tyring to find hardware that will work with it and not break it
