neon genesis evangelion... the ending made no sence, i have the box
set(origional release from adv), and ive seen it like 10 times... but i still
dont get the ending... the anime was finished before the manga was done, and
think thats y i cant get it, cause they didnt really have an ending for it
yet...
imho rahxephon is a much, much beter anime... deep story line, verry much like
nge, but it actually makes sence.
Lol, I liked the ending of Evangelion - I think it made a very good kind of
sense (and that both movies were superfluous, incidentally).
And the anime for me that is over-rated is InuYasha - not because the anime was
truly horrible or anything, but because there was a lot of hype that was just
not lived up to.
But Dragon Ball / Dragon Ball Z / GT / whatever SUCKS!
i can't figure out what people see in this repetitive, awful character design
and plotless anime!
I'd say no anime is really overrated or underrated.
But I'd say for me, Inuyasha turned out not as great as I originally expected.
DBZ was great when I was younger, and its universe has so much potential for
fiction, and I must say, the DBZ experience was great for me, even though I
agree, it's not the best and the character design has lost its appeal. Wow, is
what I just typed above a sentence? So many commas... o.O
They are all just too long for me, and too much of the same ploys and antics. It
kinda gets old... and also, I was annoyed how there was no resolution in
InuYasha. What, can't Rumiko Takahashi FINISH something for once!?
dare i say it ....Ghost in the shell .... sorry i've had it for years and it's
poo
i've never seen any of the stand alone complex but hopefully they're better.
Naruto, One Piece, Gundam, Yu-Gi-Oh, Inu-Yasha, Pokemon, Dragon Ball...
Essentially commercial anime with boring, repetitive, cliche storylines, and
that are long just to squeeze as much money as possible out of fans.
I'd say the various Gundam series (even Gundam Wing, which is my favorite, I
feel it is still overrated), Final Fantasy Advent Children, and Cowboy Bebop are
overrated. Mainly because they seem decent (not specifically if I like them or
not, just what I thought about the quality of the various parts of them
overall), but not really all that great compared to how much or often people
seem to hype/talk about them. They all seem fairly rare (in my experience) to
see someone say that they don't like them or that they think they are ok, but
not great. I'd say out of the ones I mentioned Cowboy Bebop would be the most
overrated since I just don't see what is so special about it that makes so many
like it so much and I've seen the entire series and the movie.
I wouldn't say the Dragon Ball series are overrated only because there seems to
always be as many (if not more) people saying how bad/boring/whatever it is as
there are how say how good it is. It often seems to be the most popular series
for people to put down when referring to anime.
I'd have to say the Gundam series and NGE. I just could never get interested in
those. NGE just never made any sense either.
To an extent, I'd have to say Akira as well. True that it was a pioneer of its
time, but compared to other movies/series now, I'd have to say that it is
overrated.
The most overrated for me would have to be Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. It
was long and pointless. Sure the action was cool, but there was no story there.
No real character development. It was made solely for the rabid FF 7 fans, who
keep demanding for a remake of the game.
Naruto, bleach, and fullmetal alchemist, gundam, Inu Yasha, dragonball... they
(and others) all have huge fan bases. calling them overrated though? I guess
that really depends how critical you are and what you like from anime. some
people are more into characters development, others like affects, i know a few
people who just like cool looking mechs, etc etc.
now personally, one anime alot people seem to like that i just couldn't get into
was One Peice. the arts kind weird and it's a little too stupid for me (which is
saying something since i like Kyo kara maoh and such). I guess when the age old
question of 'Pirates or Ninjas?' comes up I favor ninjas.
Inu yasha. It's one of the few anime that I really don't understand the appeal
or what is so great about it. I don't care for One Piece or Naruto, but I can
see their appeal.
Naruto and Bleach. I admit that i still read the manga, but it isn't as great as
i expected.
also ranma. i hate the fact that it doesn't end and i don't like the annoying
characters
"OH NO THE WORLD IS GOING TO BLOW UP IN 2 MINUTES!"
*five episodes later*
"ONLY ONE MINUTE LEFT!"
what the heck?!
You know back in the day when me and my friends were into DBZ we figured that
based on the Frieza saga, one day in the Dragonball Z world would be well over
200 years. I think the "5 minute" battle that took place took about 12
episodes or more.
As for it being overrated, I would say yes and no. Admitedly, DBZ got me into
anime but I've since realized that what I watched wasn't all that good. The
funny thing is how many people watch it and would slay anyone that spoke ill of
it even years after they've seen it. DBZ is a show of cool moments, nothing
more.

Evangelion. Why the hell do people like it so much? All that confusing crap near then end just made me hate the series.
Dragon Ball Z
Evangelion is great... it makes you think.
But Dragon Ball / Dragon Ball Z / GT / whatever SUCKS!
i can't figure out what people see in this repetitive, awful character design and plotless anime!
Hmm, NGE is awesome. I understood it.
I'd say no anime is really overrated or underrated.

Final Fantasy Advent CHildren.....Those are the most overrated right now.....
Naruto, InuYasha, Dragonball Z

I really thought Chobits was going to be better than it actually was since it gets so much praise from anime fans...
Naruto all the way....and maybe Gundam too...but i havent watched all of it yet so i wouldnt know for sure
naruto and bleach. although i do like them, but it's waaaaay overated
dare i say it ....Ghost in the shell .... sorry i've had it for years and it's poo

Also Naruto and FF7 Advent Children.
Also DragonBall Z... that stuff was insane..

Anyone new to Naruto and is unfortunate enough to see any of the current fillers will immediately find it grossly overrated.
