My ex is the worlds worst cook, one time she she was boilling eggs, simple
right; no she let them cook for 15 min. on high on a gas stove, I found her in
the kitchen screaming with a cup of water, I soon put out the fire and consoild
her butshe never cooked again, and I enrolled in a culinary arts class. Now I am
a Office in the US navy majored in computer eng./ minor in culinary arts, and
she is working on her sixth kitchen.
I turned our kitchen's ceiling black once *LOL* wasn't funny then, but I think I
can laugh about it now. I put a ramen bowl in the microwave once and it went on
fire *blush* ...how did that happen?
OK once i was hanging out with my friend Zach we were making chicken alferdo and
me and him went upstairs to play some more baulders gate 2 and like 2 hours
later we remembered and yeah lets just say there were no more noodles
lol my mom left butter on the stove cooking went downstairs on pc, i smelt
something burning and went to check, i took off the top of pan and it blew up in
flames.
I placed a pot of water on the stove set on HI. Then I forgot about it. I came
back seeing that all the water boiled away and the bottom of the pot was pretty
much molten metal. Needless to say I ruined the pot and my plans of having
spaghetti for dinner were ruined. The stove was fine.
hehe nice thread ...well yea i guess all ov us did something like
that,we r humans after all *_*
i burned my kitchen walls while making some eggs... well bcz i forgot to turn
off the oven so u know the rest ov my story !
^_^'
My brother had forgot to put something a coaster under this really hot
pot....and he burned a part of the table cover.......I once had done the
same...but to the wooden counter.........there are so many of these types of
situations...I can't remember them all.....
I seem to only have accidents when I am cooking somewhere other than my own
kitchen. I mean I have alot at home, but not as bad. I worked at a camp on year
and put an oven mitt on a burner... It burst into flames, so me being super
smart, picks it up and starts running around with it and yelling. I didnt know
what to do, so I put it in the sink. LOL
Another time, I was cooking at someone elses house while they were away. I
picked up a pot and the handle was really hot, so I put it on the floor. I dont
know why! But when I picked it up again a big piece of their lanolium floor has
melted to it and there was a huge hole in the flooring. I put a mat over it. LOL
I was with my mom in the kitchen making a stirfry when the stove caught on fire.
Neither of us really knew how it had happened, especially since we had just
cleaned it the week before, but she was freaking out because she didn't know
what to do and I didn't know what to do because I couldn't find the Baking Soda.
I finally found some and put it out, but it was pretty hectic while it took
place.
Well, I burnt several dishes that I made before... but luckily nothing majorly
bad has happened. Mostly the taste was just a bit bland or food was a bit
burned.
Scorched noodles in a pot on the stove...burned the bread while in my first
attempt to make grilled cheese...spattering stuff while i cook in the nude(just
kidding...i think), i had a pot handle slip and bend collapse on me while it was
on the stove and the noodles actually fell into the inside of the stove where
the pipes and the gas comes from and such...not a good thing. No fires though!
*nods*
lol my cooking accident is when I was cooking pasta and I 4got 2 put water in
the pot. Now I know what ur thinking, ur probably saying "What kind of
IDIOT 4gets 2 PUT WATER WHILE THERE COOKING NOODLES!?!" Well I'm that idiot
since I was talking on the phone and I wasn't really paying attention, and I put
the on stove and the next thing I know is the oven is on fire lol! Heh after
that my mom didn't even let me go near the kitchen, lol but then again I
wouldn't myself either lol!
Hahahaha. Any accidents he asks! I guarantee that if you cook you will cut,
burn, and probably smash a part of your body (usually the hands). My worst is
having a Henckls 8" santoku knife land back of blade down (thank goodness
it didn't land blade down) across my bare foot almost breaking my foot and
giving a couple of toes a slight cut when the knife bounced and turned over.
Let's see, my worst was when I tried to make french fries.
Lesson 1: No matter how shallow the pot of oil is, putting it on HIGH doesn't
make it any better.
Lesson 2: Let the fries defrost, because dropping ice-crystal-covered fries in
super-hot grease...
Well, long story short, the oven top burned (but only for a while), and when I
tried to carry the pot of hot POPPING oil to the sink WITH MY BARE HANDS, I
burned my entire right hand. Then I panicked and DROPPED the pot, burning half
the rug we put under the sink to catch water as well as my toes, which also had
to be bare that fateful day.
The good thing: this all happened in the middle of the night, so to this day mom
doesn't know what happened. She does wonder where the rug went, though...
Oh yeah...more than five times already, I guess.
I usually burn stuff, especially when I began learning few years back. I even
burned rice and eggs! ^^ I also burn myself holding hot pans, plates, etc. by
mistake.
I'd put in too much of an ingredient (salt, vinegar), and the taste would really
come out wrong! Haha...or I'd not put enough, and it'd be really bland or
something...
Now, not so much. ^^ Practice makes perfect! ^^
Normally I can cook a lot of stuff really well like terriyaki chicken/beef,
sauteed asparagus with smoked salmon etc. . However, there was once when I
screwed up making instant noodles. How? My place used to have electric stove
tops so it took ages for the water to boil. So I got lazy and left the noodles
in the unboiled water. I went to watch an anime that I got recently... it's not
until the 2nd episode that I realized that I was hungry. Then suddenly I
remember I had some noodles that were cooking. So I opened my bedroom door to
this foul smelling smoke. I ran to the kitchen and the noodles were completely
dry and burnt.
Lesson learnt... never go and watch anime when you're in the middle of cooking
things.
I haven't, but my old friend's sister burned a bun. Yes, a bun, in the microwave
oven when she wanted to warm, or more like, HEAT it up a bit. There was smoke in
the whole kitchen and we had to crawl on the floor to avoid the smoke @___@ At
least it didn't start burning Don't
remember though if the sister ate the bun or not.

Hmm, the first time I tried the crack an egg by hitting it on the edge of a bowl, everything spilled outside instead of into the bowl.

I once got a second degree burn from making pasta. It was only worse since I was babysitting. Thank Goodness! I knew what to do if I ever got burned.

I burned my self and cut my self on the same place once... It was burning and it was bleeding! I have learned not to fall asleep in the kitchen!
