hey ppl out there, anyone kind enough to lend a helping hand to a guy wanting to
make his own wallpaper?.
first time doing... which to program to use may i know?. and where to get
it?..... anyone?.......
U can use graphic programs like Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop pro or other
graphics program. If U don't have any graphic programs u can download at Download.com.
This is a good place to download for free and trial software.
adobe photoshop is good, but quite complex (and expensive), u can download a
trial version of CS2 at their website (can't remember it, but search for it on
google). theres heaps of tutorial at anime graphic websites, so if u need any
message me ^^.
Photoshop is easy to learn, when you have the right manual. There's a good one
for beginners: How to color comics
It's well explained and not a huge book to study.
I've heard from one of my friends here on MT that you have to practice practice
practice to make good wallpapers, and I should try one day.I use Photoshop for
everything so I guess it's the best, according to me.You need a good scan with
the desired character to start your wallpaper.Stock images are optional. You
extract or vector the scanand I don't know what happens from there on...
If you must use a tutorial just use it to learn the interface. After that you
can just let your imagination run wild. Wallpapers should be based on your
artistic talent and ingenuity, not how well you can follow directions.
I lied, some tutorials that ARE worth looking at are those that teach you how to
clean and crop a scan. Stay away from any that involve a ton of filters to get
some craptacular effect.
It's okay to get help. But don't overdo it. If it gets to the point where
everyone is telling you to change something, then it's time for you to stop and
try again on a NEW wallpaper. Don't beat an already dead horse to death. You
might learn some new techniques but you will be left with a huge mess that
doesnt flow and isn't yours anymore.
You make wallpapers for people to enjoy, but the most important part is that you
enjoy your work. Because that's what it is, its YOUR work. Your beginning
wallpapers will never compare to the ones that the veterans are putting out.
They have put a lot of time in effort in building up their artistic sense. They
can look at a scan and visiualize what colors would go well with it and how to
go about making the background. It's all about a sense of flow.
I could probably say more but i'm getting tired of this and i'll go back to
lurking.
I should probably get back to studying for my test before I go and fail it
tommarow.
Just work on a wall whenever you can, if you hit a block just start a new one.
That way you can think about stuff to add to it later on and you'll always have
something to work on. Don't be like ol' wootasian releasing 1 wall every 4
months.
Well, once you get the hang of things, know where things are and such. Just
wall. I personally would stay away from filters as much as possible unless it is
needed.
I really only use the blurs and the distortions filters once in a while for a
extra helping hand in some stuff.
Your best friends are the brush tool and it family, the burn, smudge ect ect ect
tool. You can almost make anything with those.
I reccommend you to learn the pen tool also. Quite a good tool once you know how
to work it.
Well, hope I helped. Oh, don't work on a wall for too long [months], it
pointless and most likely it will come out pretty bad if you have no drive to
finish it.
THANKS A LOT ,PPL... then again does anyone know where i can downoad a free
adobe photoshop cs2? cause the one at download.com is a trial ver. and only last
for 30 days... or is there anyother program that i can also use?.
