I was on a convention this year! It was really fun to talk to other anime and manga fans and to see the cosplay contests! Of curse the chance to buy new mangas for cheaper money wasn´t unimportant, too^^´!
Did anyone visited an Anime Convention, too?

well i never been to one but i do want to go
i think i can pull off a anime character; short guy, long hair...i say i can pull of a yugi or daisuke niwa ^^

I've been to the one held in Dallas this year...and I've also been in one which was held in New York 2 years ago and my first one was an anime convention in New Orleans back in '01. I love going to Anime Conventions, despite the cosplay, it's pretty festive at times with the spirited joy of anime, crowding the downtown blocks. :)

-> No, I haven't. But theres one that is coming in Vegas (Anime Vegas ) next month and I'll be there (I reserved my spot there already). (:

in my country the anime dont's is very popular, by this reason do not become anime events T_T

No, I hate the atmosphere there.
Also, usually I am regarded as "not as freakish."
I prefer to be more philosophic one.

i've been to quite a few. there is one in austin that i've been too at least 3 times and last summer i went to one in dallas. this fall i'll be going to one in houston.

i love anime conventions cause you get to see all the great, and not so great, cosplay outfits as well as meet loads of other people you love the same thing you do. Anime.

no i havent been to an anime convention but i would like to go to one.

They don't usally have them around here or i don't know about them , someday i will visit one , manga is hard to get here to i haft to order all mine >.<

unfortunately, no :( hope to go to one soon tho XD

Over in New Zealand there's an Pulp Culture convention once a year called Armageddon. It's full of Sci-Fi, Anime, Manga, and heaps of other stuff. It's really great to be able to buy anime posters and figures real cheap as well as see the entries for the art contest and meet celebraties. It's so much fun!

i wish i could go to ax, i am hoping that i will be able to go next year with my friends

Yup, went to my first anime convention about 2 years ago. The DVD's were around the same prices in stores so i didnt bother to buy ne. However, the wallscrolls, and posters were so cheap, i bought like a dozen kenshin, final fantasy, KOF, and other good stuff. The manga there were also cheap but i wasnt in to manga back then T_T. Unfortunately,, i havent went to ne lately, too busy ><. Im hoping to attend anime north wen the time arrives^^.

Has anyone been to the Boston Convention?
I'm thinking of going the next time...but I've never been to any Cons before...what are they like?

I've never been to any conventions... I think they're rare here! anyway.. I would really like to go to one... everything comes in cheap right? perfect for someone going bankrupt ^_^'

I go to Otakon every year! I want to try out katsucon as well. Both are about an hour from where I live.

Yep I have, it was great to see such innovative cosplay! I went to Anime North, only one time, I missed last year's tt.tt I went to the years before though, and there were voice actors there, one of which was Richard Cox. I'd really like to go again, it was fun and there was so much to see and buy. Also a lot of good fanart that people were selling *bought one of Sesshoumaru*

No but I'm going to!! ^^ This year in Toronto...it's called "Anime North" ^-^

i've been to many anime conventions, thats what great about my job. =] i've been to many anime expo's, and others.

I been going to anime conventions- big ones and small ones since 1994. They are totally fun to go to. Its almost like a mini vacation for me when I go 3 days worth. Its a great source for me to meet anime company reps, Japanese guests, find bargains on anime goodies, check out some anime programming, etc etc all under one (or sometimes two) roof.

i never have. because in our country anime convention is really rare.

twice a yr, anime north and cnanime. Not sure if im gonna go to cnanime next yr since its expensive and its not as good as AN imo. I wish i could attend anime expo, ax gets all the good japanese guests.

NO, I have not been to a convention...almost went to one in San Francisco...but too lazy to get up that morning or I forgot when it was, which ever it was.

My first convention was just 2 months ago :) AX 2005!!! I miss it so much... I want to come back. Hopefully 9 months won't be too long ^_^' It was a great experience, even though there was some people I rather not mention (like the infamous ManFaye). But I got a chance to meet Tomokazu Seki, a beyond awesome person. (For those of you who don't know him, he's the seiyuu for Souma Kyo in Furuba, Chichiri in FY {no da ^_^ }, Touya from CCS, Van Fanel in Escaflowne, Shuichi in Gravitation, jee... I'm not gonna name the whole list -_- ) I also got to meet the people who provide the English voices for Kagome and Naraku from Inuyasha. And yup, a LOT of free stuff. Calendars, mini wallscrolls, you name it. Aw... I reallly miss it now...

That's it. Anyone want to go with me next year? ;) It's Anime-Expo 2006 in Anaheim, Southern California - literally across the street from Disneyland. ^_^
