Anyone ever seen this Stanley Kubrick masterpiece before?
I must assume that hardly, as it is quite disturbing. Now, before I go any
further, here are some general links to the info of the movie.
This movie contains Nudity, sex, violence, dark humour and harmful content.

In my opinion, this is a lovely disturbing film of the times.
The things the trio done is coined as "happy slapping" and in recent
times, a bar owner and a customer has been beaten to death by 10 something year
old kids to death as they practiced the same things from the movie.
In this movie, I learned of the fates of human society, how if you are not
willing to be the same, and being too different, you will get punished, but what
is the fine line for that?
When at the end of the movie, we see that Alex has changed himself, but how is
that much to earn his forgiveness for his previous sins? How much has he changed
enough to plead for his previous self?
Tell me, what do you think of this movie?
I personally just love it, everything of its dark genre of humour, the way Alex
"punished" and played around with his victims is just entertaining,
yet of course, I think myself as sick and totally wrong to think that is cool.
But, this is something very special, the movie to me, actually changed the way I
think about how movies work. The unusual concept Stanley Kubrick employed and
the way the original book described the story is truly impressing, I must say,
one of the movies that has the best story I ever seen.
please do not reply to this thread with meaningless answers, I wanted to know
the opinions of people who ACTUALLY seen the film and understood the meaning
behind it.
DD! read the book man! they're both amazing though. i think noone could've made
a more interesting character than Burghess when he created Alex. dude the book
kinda hints at the fact that he was kinda raped by his mates. a realy powerful
book/film one of the only book to film deals that still holds true to all the
meaning and possible interpretation of its original form. theres something about
the book i like more. although if my memory serves me right, in the book they
don't kill that woman with the dildo.......its in the beginning of the movie...i
think. but yeah, wow DD! you're a cool dude, the fact that you were able to
understand and comprehend this movie.....unlike most people^^.
Damn that movie is awesomeness. I saw it really long ago though, and should very
propable re-watch it for further understanding xD
The most disturbing scene.. has to be the rape one. I loved that huge sculpture.
Or the final scene, wich was meaningfull. Or the bar scene ( somehow I remember
it very clearly)
bleh, I really should rent it again before saying anything
oh wait sorry devil and that was not pointless. Nothing in this world comes and
goes without a reason. Anyway now that i have seen that pic agian i remember
most of my friends have seen it. Ill ask them then
I have only recently seen the film (over Winter Break)... It was quite
disturbing, but I have plans to read the novel so that I can compare. However
Devildude, you stated that at the end of the movie Alex has changed himself, but
if I remember correctly, Alex is "cured" by returning to his previous
aggressive self. It is society (i.e. the politicians) that has determined that
Alex has "changed" and been "cured".

I am planning to look for the book so I can read it as soon as i can.
I think the scene where he found himself understanding he needs to be violent is
most interesting, I did not really understand the movie to the whole, but more
like if you project it to the whole world, it seems like almost it is not
justified for Alex to be violent, but well, society seems to allow him to be
consumed by his own madness. Like you have a rule, and it was meant to be broken
cause people only care after you break them... (my points)

He sort of cured himself actually, when at the end he kept on worrying over
himself of the past and what he doing now, he actually sort of become sane,
because he can worry for the right things of the society, however, his inner
madness did not subside, and only the society sees his outer shell, but in
there, he is that mad alex.
One can say he changed himself to adapt, but not too long till the change
subsides.
Yeah I have seen it and i have it ! I don't remeber so well it has been years I
have seen it but ... I wanted to see a Second Movie Cloackwork Orange 2: The
Revenge of Alex! Unfortunately i don't think they will come up with a second
movie ! The violence we see there is a bit extteme! After all I am glad that
Alex could hear his lovely music once again after his cure! I think he hasn't
changed a bit! He will seek for revenge for sure! He will punish his old friends
and teach them a violence lesson (even if they are cops). Well i loved it too!
And i didn't know it was a book ! ! !
hehe It is a nice movie I recomend it ! Rate 9/10 !
The music in my head heh...?
But no, i hope they never make a sequel, what they could do is follow the exact
formula and make a new one out of it. Like redirect it or something, but again,
the guy who plays Alex better be good.
One of the prominent features of the movie is how it uses languages, that weird
english...it still stays in my head.
"Yarblockos!"
it's a film I could watch over and over all night long cause it has quite a good
storry with this amazing dark black humor
the ones who like clockwork orange also often like the monty phyton films such
as the life of the brain a jesus satire
I watched it again today and I believe I can do so again, I just love Alex's
darker nature, as he dances and kicks the man while singing "dancing in the
rain"
The questions you ask sound like those a teacher would in my opinion.T
The movie/book looks pretty good, but sadly I doubt my parents would let me
watch the movie. I think I'll see if my library has it tomorrow, so I guess
until then I can't say much.
is it?
I read part of the book and frankly speaking it seems to follow very tight, but
nevermind, no spoilers needed, i should finish the book in a month's time.
What do you all think of Alex's mind, what do you think he is suffering from
what he does, does he suffer of conscience? What is his conscience?
I tend to believe because of all the images they showed him to change him,
actually only instilled more lust for his inner madness, which we seem to be
able to tell at the end of the movie.

It is a great movie, but you really need to read the book if you haven't, then enitre last chapter isn't in the movie, it is really really suprising!
is it?
