hiya! I haven't been on here in like 3 months T.T okies, my discussion thing is about how kelly clarkson sounds like utada hikaru a little in her new song 'Gone' (not really 'new'). . .I just had to get that out, but really she does sound like her, doesn't she?

I haven't heard that Clarkson song yet (I don't listen to the radio), but true or not, I would never compare some non-Japanese artist to a Japanese one; that's disrespectful to the Japanese artist :P

well the two artists have different styles and techniques in singing. and in fairness i like kelly cos she has a very powerful voice...
but i dont judge the voice of that hikaru cos i never heard sang yet....

i've heard songs from both artist...perosnally, i think KC is more of an artist that sings about angsty music, Utada Hikaru, hers sounds like more calm and peaceful..

i like kelly clarkson's song a lot... especially her latest album... which not really "new"....
i m not so familiar wi utada hikaru's songs but i've heard before... eg: first love, automatic, can u keep a secret....
i never hav a thought to compare between both of them... so i think kelly not sounds like her lo...

I'm familiar with both, and I thought that the song "Gone" actually sounded like Britney Spears' song on her latest album... the slow one with the twinkly noises... but maybe I'm crazy.

I can see the relation though. There's a song on her CD called Beautiful Disastor (really good!) that reminds me more of Utada Hikaru's voice more than "Gone" does.

what's the big deal? I can name a lot of singers that sound alike.

kelly sucks! o.o"

Utada is so talented. and kelly is some made-up hollywood stereotyped female singer, just like every other american female pop singer. i dont think kelly should be mentioned in the same thread as Utada, but thats only my opinion and i respect the opinion of anyone who thinks differently.
