If you get hit by an unblockable then you deserve to lose. They take like 3 seconds to come out. And there are no ground combos in Tekken. There are OTG combos, but they do 25% max. Tech roll is very important because it creates a mixup between oki and tech catch. I don't know what you mean by "dodge", but side step is important and side walk is even more important.

You can like Soul Calibur more. I don't care. But get your facts straight.

i own the damn game retard, devil jins unblobkable take crap all time to come out, its worse against walls but u can still chain up combos that kill popele in like 3 secs...

Tekken is like a draft for a 3d fighting game.

Well since Street Fighter wasn't here (3D game poll?), my vote goes to Soul Calibur, more specifically III.
One thing a fighting game needs is replay value...and Soul Calibur III? You can play that forever with the multiple paths, unlockables and missions. Plus the graphics are just damn awesome. The game play is pretty advanced as well with its parries, guard impacts and 8-way step.

Why so hostile Chino?

You can't "chain up" Devil Jin's b+2+3 and it's a terrible move. First off, you glow red when it comes out. Second, it can be side stepped both ways. Also, when you get hit out of it, it counts as a counter. Lastly, it's slow as tar so it CAN'T be used in a combo.

Just because you own the game doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. I own a tennis racket but I lose my breath climbing up a set of stairs.

but just the fact its there is kinda stupid, i didn't say it could be used in a combo.

Maybe because you don't play tennis, but ive played tekken, the rounds last for 10 secs max and feels like rock paper scissor whenever you approach someone, it still feels like your less involved with the fight when a few button presses set off a combo that you can watch for a while.
You can called it sidestep but its still ends up being a dodge, its pretty useless for moving about the arena, it may aswell be 2d.

Well, its just my experience with tekken, from 2 to 5. Its a technical, particular game, you can't rely on the animations, lack of counters and you don't move very quickly.

Soul Calibur 3 definetelly, I'm not into games like many people here (XD) but I reeeeeeeeeally enjoy playing this game, the Tales of Souls mode kicks ass, though that mode to build your own character was boring as hell to play it all, and if you want all itens released you HAVE to play it 'till the end. It's funny to build characters that look like Kos-mos, Cloude or even Hitler and Chuck Norris, but to do so you have to finish in that crap mode (which I can't remember the name -.-).

The 2 player mode is excellent XD I don't know anything about online stuff so I don't care about online mode, for me what matter is: many characters, many clothing, many nice, cool different moves and a wonderful character design with good detailing everywhere, from their clothes to the scenario. Without mention the AWESOME system that allows you to run freely through all the ring (and out of it lol).

Definetely Soul Calibur II, that game is the best, also de charachters, i simple lo ve it.... mi favs, Ivy and Talim

1.Virtua Fighter 4: Go training mode abit, and you'll be pro in no time, and game is most in deep and solid 3d fighting game known. Its more a tournement game than a story game, so only reward you get is your own satisfaction. The fact that its viewed as a martial arts simulator = many pluses. From some 3d game analogies, VF is like chess.

2.Dead or Alive 4: cause it looks and plays good. But the analogy of it with Scizzors paper rock... (attack beats throw, throw beats counter, counter beats attack...)

3.Soul Calibur: cause its a pick up and play, and worth playing hours for, and its the only well known 3d weapon fighting game. People make an analogy of it with Chinese checkers

4.Tekken: The analogy of this with checkers is cool, but still... ~_~... the only good thing i've found about it is if you walk into an arcade, lotsa people will challenge you. But minus this factor, I find the use of left/right punch/kick REALLY REALLY awkward. When i'm fighting, i think i want to punch punch kick an opponent, not Lpunch Rpunch Lpunch Rpunch Lkick...Plus, pretty much all the non-special moves in the game can be done in reality by any fit person, but if they did in a fight, you'll just cringe as they die... (Many more minuses but i dun wanna needa summon my flame shields)

*huff*puff*

PS. as some people said, KOF is not a real 3d fighting game, so if you wanna put it up on votes, at least put Street Fighter and Guilty Gear up too.

tekken here. i've played it since T3. i've tried SC, couldn't get use to the game. it's not that bad, i just didn't find it fun enough to play. DOA...hmmm never played before but the girls do look hot XD.

Its pretty shitty, that companies like Playstation or Microsoft (XBox) buy the game licenses. I would be satisfied, when a game would be available for both consoles.
I am sorry, that Street Fighter and Guilty Gear are missing, but you have only 6 slots for the voting room. Sorry!

Soul Calibur sucks well if you dont know how to play fighting games go to soulcalibur you might win there hardly and difulcut moves to do any smashing the buttons might get to do something and you can win

Of the 3-D Fighters here, I think Dead or Alive takes this category for me, but Soul Calibur isn't that far behind, either. I think each of the games that are nominated are worthwhile in their own respects, but these two are my favorite of the bunch.

DoA... fav... boucy... hehe, nah, its not just that >_>
fast, but not too fast. simple to pick up and learn, yet mashing wont take you so far. it has a ninja that does a cool throw. now comes with a nicer tweaked counter sys.

SC, loved it on DC, 2 was good as well. put down 3 after a couple days.

tekken, meh. the combos really turned me off this game. never liked the gameplay much either.

VF, i know its for the hardcore, but never liked that series much to begin with.

-kof, SF or GG should have no part of this thread btw. and i love some of those way more than any of these title

I honestly cannot choose just one. (though i voted my all time fave) The following are my personal opinions:
Tekken has one of the best graphic presentations there is, not to mention its awesome storyline. I also respect its groundbreaking 3D environment back in the day. Overall, it is quite well balanced.

DOA. Awesome graphics, but let's face it, one of its main selling points (to non-DOA gamers) is its girls. No offense to those die-hard DOA fans out there. Its multi-arena stages is also one of its strong points. The Ninja Gaiden spinoff also made better success than Namco's Death by Degrees. I think this game's balanced is toward its graphic presentation.

Soul Calibur. My personal best gamplay for fighting games. Haven't got much to say on this one though, having only played it once/twice at a friend's house.

Lastly, I mean no offense in writing this comment. Peace out.

uff.. it's really hard to decide.. >__< cuz i kinda love all of them.. but i think i like Soul calibur the most, since there are so many amazing costumes.. XD

DoA is a fighting game of first class! xD the fighting speed is kewl... cute jan lee ^^ cute hayate!^^ the game is is realy...
liquid ^^? it runs very good not so lame like tekken.... comon
the game is slow.... too slow... but i hope tekken 6 on ps3 they increas the game speed ....
and soul calibur.... i bought the II and lend III but the sc3 is very hard xD dont know why... cuz im a girl? nah xD

so my ranking

1. DoA ^^
2. Soul Calibur ^^
3. Tekken ^^

Kisses

Lizzy

Angel Lizzy what do you mean its hard all you have to do is hit the at random you some crazy thing and you win smash the buttons like crazy

Soul Calibur rocks! It's needless to say more.

Soul Calibar would be the best out of all of them. Very pretty graphics, solid gameplay, great music, great for newcomers and veterans. It is an all round game and can be enjoyed by all.
Tekken is not simple to just pick up and play. The first time I played it, it was slow and you can't really button mash once you get angry at the controls and want to give up. Combos don't flow too easily in this game. I never liked the game nor the movies. (in game and anime) This games seems good only to seasoned players or people who want to learn the more difficult challange. I still hate it. The graphics dont seem as fluid as SC and still the characters seem squary and blocky.
DOA is like putting barbie dolls on string. The graphics always were crappy looking in my opinion. When the people kick, they look like dolls spinning. It also has that real plastic look to all the characters too. It isnt hot, its just large plastic figurines.

SC is the way to go.

have not played doa, but would like to. soul calibur iii all the way. kilik/nightmare/seigfreid/tira kick ass.

Soul calibur got the graphics , cool charactes but the songs sucks as well as the that talks before the fight he really annoying i wish i could fight him instead of the other caracthers that would be cool

I`m not a fighting game fan, but I like the way Soul calibur respones, I mean the way you conect the movements between them, it`s a great game in player vs player mode, story is a little esay though. but, again I don`t know much about this genere.

WOW! So Soul Calibur is on place 1. Followed by DOA and Tekken.
I glad that you vote that much! A big "THANKS" to you all here.
Especially Mais is thanked for his much comments! :D
Today Ill have to do a test report for the Tekken games. Gotta be paid for it! *evil grin*
After that Ill buy a big bag of Chupa Chups Sweets! :)
I think Tekken is still the best one. (loves simply the story of the Mishima clan)

WHERE IS STREET FIGHTER? street fighter is one of the best fighting games since they have added the parrying system. Also Dead or Alive is one of the best. GUitly Gear XX as well. MAN SOUL CALIBUR doesn't compar to dead or alive or tekken.
