FF6 is by far the single greatest final fantasy game ever.

hmmm... it would have to be ffvii for me... i mean cloud and tifa o.o so cool... i hope they really do that remake for ps3... my second choice would be um ... ffx... that's a good one too... ffx-2 just pissed me off... it was like 1/4 the goodness of ffx... >.>

Personally, I liked IX the best, simply because I'm into the fun side of Final Fantasy. The gameplay was better than the others, in my opinion... That, and it was the first RPG I ever played! ^_^

VIII was... eh. Too whiny. And "drawing" magic? Come on!

VII Had the best storyline by far... man, take VII's story and IX's gameplay and you've GOT it, man.

damn it! everybody says FF VII! but IMO the 2 best FF games were FF II/IV & FF VIII. but after VIII i hated FF! i was FF enemy number one cuz after 8 the games really went downhill. but i'm excited for FF again cuz XII looks good.

There seems to be a lot of variety between the playstation final fantasies.................though I would say that I think Final Fantasy VII is the clear winner............it did revolutionize RPG's.....and I think is the best original playstation game ever made

7 and 4. I said 7 first cuz it's better, but 4 is still really awesome and worth nothing.

Well, I've only played 8 and tactics advance (and 1 and 4)... so i can't really say. 8 was really nice though

Final Fantasy 4 was the greatest FF for me, followed by 7 and 6. There hasn't been a really great once since 7, IMO.

I didn't play 7 and 8. so I would pick FF6, it is the first one I played.

1) FF8 it's the first one i played, and is still the best for me. (i like the couple squall/linoa)
2) FF9 was funny too (more fantasy)
3) FF10-2 because it's realy different

i played the 7 but i didn't found it that good (i played ff10 and 11 too)

It definitely has to be FF7! With a great storyline and game play, no other FF game can even match its greatness. It gave me a great experience of gameplay. I just cant think of any other game, Hurrah for FF7! Woohoo!

To me, it's final Fantasy IX. Cloud is nice but here's the thing.. You'll like him for a while but later he just wanna hit on the head sometimes...

Final Fantasy VII was the best all around game.... music was totally fitting/memorable/loveable, the characters likewise, the story epic, the materia system (FTW), and so much fun to just replay over and over again. Running in a VEEEEEEEERY close second would have to be Final Fantasy Tactics, the original.... 'cuz it was just SO much fun to mess around with all the different classes, the story was great, the battle system like a board game but 20x as fun, and the music was great too.

1 - FFVIII
2 - FFVII
3 - FFVI

For me it's FF VI, maybe coz' it was my first rpg game or my first FF i don't know :P .

I have FF 7, 8, 9 and Dawn of Souls. I only played 8, 9 and DoS. Yes, shame on me for not playing FF 7. But its graphics suck!

Anyways, from what I've played, definitely FF 9. I just LOVE that game. It has a wonderful storyline, and I love the gameplay. A lot better than FF 8's.

DoS is a classic, so it's good, too, but I prefer FF 9 ^_^

Obviously it's FF VII!

FF7. The story was full of good mystery oh and action. My second is either FF8 or FF9 both had really nice storylines.
