This is almost silly thread, but I'll indulge into it.
Yes, PC will far surpass PS3, but for now they will be ahead for that's the way
it was designed, but give it a few years PC will kick the living daylights outta
PS3. =) Granted, it also depends what OS PS3 will use, and it will last longer
if they use Linux as a core, IMO.
Hm.. PS3 controllers are much better for sports games, rather than the PC
keyboards, which are good with FPS games (knowing that the Sony company will
make keyboards and mouse for the PS3). PC is always improving, we can always go
online and check out for their latest products from Intel AMD, ect. While
Consoles like the PS and X-Box family must make a new system every 4-5 years, in
order to keep their customers "busy". Computer are upgradable and is
always gonna be a better choice than PS3.

PS3....I'm rarely impressed by the graphics of PC games
Please don't take it personally but so far we haven't seen a working PS3 in
action only some demos and CG renderings which doesn't count for game play.
Yes most of the PC might not have the latest graphics but some hardcore gamer do
use topnotch graphics card (think of nvidia sli systems or better yet Dell xps
with custom 4 geforce in sli).
If you play the proper game that can harness that power then you'll see what PC
can do (have to have the monitor too). and the
number of game that looks really good are in the rising.
True when PS3 come out it will have more raw power then current gen PC and a
really stunning graphics but it only has 3 core. as intel plans to launch quad
core server processors next year the desktop version wont be far behind. So PC
will eventually catch up within couple of month.
But the main problem boils down to the fact that most of titles be that PS2 or
PS3 (when its comes out) only comes out in the console not for PC.
So its a matter of choice and really easy one.
If you like thoes titles just go and buy it when it comes out.
But don't forget to buy your HD TV with HDMI connector.
take care
PC eventually match any console in processing power, but what really matters is
the games. Which begs the questions what type of games do you like and will the
PS# end up having any good games?
The problem with PC is that it is impossible to keep a PC viable for years as a
gaming PC without spending insane amounts of money. I would rather buy a console
that will give me four or five years of good gaming than spend ten times as much
keeping up a gaming PC. So in the end, the gaming PC loses to the PS3 because
the PS3 will never have a "minimum spec" and "recommended
spec" that are different from one another, nor require upgrades to play new
games without being crappy.

True!
PC upgradability can be an infamous trap as its a neverending story when you
talk about gaming.
Upgrading has its downsides too, when you need a new graphics card every year,
it soon adds up, at least with consoles you can be sure your game will run.
No, the PS3 won't be selling for that much. The type of system you want is
dependant on the type of games you play. If you want to play games that are PS3
exclusive, then what good will a powerful PC do you? Same goes the other way.
The PS3 contains very highly advanced technology.
Such as the CELL processor and Blue Ray which won't be implemented into
computers for awhile.
Yes, PC will eventually surpass the PS3, but it may take up to a few
years.
But then eventually PC's will be surpassed once more when Sony or any other
company comes up with something new.
As long as technology keeps advancing, it's really just a continuous cycle.
About the bluray, I believe it'll be avaliable for PCs together with PS3 - I
doubt a 50gb capacity media wont be compatible with pcs, who are, by far, more
popular than a game console. The Hd-dvd media will be launched soon,
too.
About graphics - no, a pc will never surpass a game console. the playstation 3
is being developed for the sole purpose to run games. A pc is for general
purpose, it can run games, databases, antiviruses, firewalls, word, photoshop,
an OS, and all of this consumes RAM/vRAM. No one will make a ps3 quality-like
game for PCs; it'll be too heavy, and the game would run slower.
Does anyone remember the FF7 pc version? The playstation 1 version was
better.
The day a common pc could manage a ps3 game perfectly, Sony will be launching
playstation 5.
Anyway, Im still waiting a functional playstation 2 emulator :/
Well, until the final PS3 is released we won't really know how the graphics
truly stack up, but one has to keep in mind that graphics are an awkward thing
to compare. PCs, while great game machines, are designed to do a lot of other
things, so they have to be versitile. Gaming machines on the other hand, will
only really ever play games in the end, and such more can be continuously
devoted to the graphics. In the end only time will tell if they will end up
trumping each other or if they will end up neck and neck.
PC may be seen ovewhelmed by game consoles as their release dates are recent,
but PC does always takes the graphic power even beyond. So, PC is the plattform
which will be even beyond the most powerful game console.
We all know that PCs got better grafic than PS2, but if i ask about PS3... do u think PCs gonna equal PS3 someday?!?!?!?
Mad,
This is almost silly thread, but I'll indulge into it.

There ya go,
Ali
Ya that was pretty silly question coz u right whit that here. So Im asking when? before PS4,
Doesn't matter if PC will be equal to PS3 or not. Some games on PS3 will never appear on PC.
I think it more a matter of tastes more than raw power, If you like FPS PC is better.
But for me a PS2 (and a PS3 when it comes) is far better for gaming than a PC.

good thing from pc is they keep update, so we cannot compare it with ps3 since ps3 cannot be upgrade.
pc and ps3 is on difrent world, ps3 and xbox 360, now that maybe a more better compatitor rather with pc

ya and consols got plus for no lag anyway
YOUR INSANE! CONSOLES CAN NEVER MATCH THE PC! LOOK, THE PC CAN EMULATE CONSOLES!
-Izaak, Lord of the Lotus Clan.
Err did you heard that PSP can emulate Windows 95?
i heard ps3 is gonna cost like near a thousand right? o.O i rather buy a new computer tho if its that high
