i don't know what's your opinion of the existance of god......
do you really believe god really existed?
look, this thread isn't here to offend any religion or something, it's just
about your opinion about the existance of god.....
as a free thinker, i doesn't believe in the existance of god...
so, what's your opinion?
The everlasting question....one out of many, why do we keep asking it? because
we're always developing
Although i'm an atheist,i'm not anti-religion and respect most beliefs (and
their aspects) of mankind as long as they're humane as possible and do not
preach to harm others on an illogical basis without a proper explanation each
man has the right to believe in what he wants to,it's the beauty of our
diffrences.
anyways,going back to the subject
there have been too many speculations, but going back to the days when science
was not evolved, people chose to believe that Events of nature were created by a
great being, some will even divide the duties and roles among several
gods.
The gauls for example believe that the sky might fall on their,A random tribe
would believe that one a volcano erupts it means that god is angry, nowadays we
have logical and scientifical explantions to most of it,whereas religion in a
sense, stopped its deveolpment and left all of the explaining to the holy
writings
( i use this term since i refer to the judaism, christinaty,Islam and any other
religion that has its writing)
and god
the belief in god however led to the middle ages, where the priesthood was the
ruler behind the curtains, manipulating Royalty whom were manipulating those
weaker than them and stopping the technological advancements for centuries, that
was because there was no distinction between religion and the state
nowadays it's unlikely to happen and there's a logical explanation for many
things that happened in the holy writings) but it doesn't mean that religion and
the belief in god is forbidden.
my 2 cents and i apologize in advance if i've hurt anybody,
Sumimasen.
he definitively exists, but not in the way the christian religion puts him. at
least that's what i think. i think that god does not have to be seen as
"the creator", for some poeple god is a puprose, a reason, hope, an
action or the next bottle of whisky you know? so god in my opinion isnt
something there like one person, one higher being that controles you, but you
choose what is supposed to be your god. and of course god is in everybody
because it is something in your live you cannot really explain, it's a feeling,
sometimes a feeling of satisfaction, sadness or hate, but it is definitively
something you for yourself define or create as god.
for a lot of people god for example is nothing different but the answer for all
complex questions people do not want to deal with or cannot explain. remember
that most religions are created hundrets of years ago where people did not have
an idea what's going on. for other people god is a way to live. what you really
believe in then is mostly the religion. the religion becomes your god telling
you want to do, of course there must be a purpose in that so they put god even
higher making him the creator of earth and humanity.
there is nothing wrong in that tho, because it is your choice what or who is
your god, but as long as you live you always have a god, he wont answer you any
quesions, but he will make you happy and from time to time angry.
so, if one can be open enough to say god exists in that kind of way, one can
also say that god does not exist, because what he is actually saying is
"the christian god does not exist". seeing it from my perspective the
christian god can exist but does not have to, if he does i wont do him any harm,
if he doesnt it doesn't matter to me.
to bring it to the point: god is, when you look at it in a very logical and
clear way, an invention of our mind that influences our daily habits, thoughts
and actions. we create him to explain things we cannot explain with logical
reasoning, but as you see in the christian religion explaining something
unlogical with something unlogical works out perfectly. so it's a psychological
thing that the church makes use of to manipulate people to a certain standard of
character which is definitively good.
so i want to conclude that the existence of god does not matter because god is a
word for something that YOU create or have already created, influencing your
psychology in every way.
Quote by ShamshielMy opinion - God is
the construct of weak people, doesn't exist and never
has.
Let's applaude all those "weak" dumbasses who founded this great
country - United States. What a bunch of feeble minded losers. Or the
"weak" John Newton who was a brutal slave trader. I guess then during
that time of his life you'd say he was a great, strong man. Somthing happened to
him which resulted in his penning of the song "Amazing Grace." He also
became a forerunner to defeating slavery. What a weak dork he was. Or George
Mueller who's life took a "turn" and he dedicated the rest of his life
to taking care of orphans. Let's see, to take care of those children who were
left behind or abandoned by all those "stong" people. Thousands of
lives he touched but what a "weak" fool he was. Or Doug Jackson who
gave up a million dollar plus career in order to distribute un-used and donated
medical supplies to thrid world countries. Millions of lives he has saved. What
a fool. Or a man named Bruce Randolf who dedicated his life to feeding the
poorest of the poor. He sold virtually everything to dedicate his life to this
mission. Man, what an absolute idiot he was. Mother Teresa - let's don't even go
there...I mean how weak is she. What about Martin Luther King Jr.? Now there's a
total weakling.
I personally don't believe in God, well, this Christian god anyway. I think that
if you think there is a god, then there is one. If you don't, then there isn't
one for you. I think it's just the person's own matter of opinion and i think
it's nice to believe that there's a place for you after you die.
Quantum mechanics suggests that there must be a superficial being outside of
what encompasses the universe to verify the existence of the universe and all
beings within it. That is because we need one that is not ourselves to confirm
our existence, and for any event we witness, we also require a third party to
validate its occurence. I'm hoping that some genius, greater than Einstein, to
come along and prove the theory wrong. Else, i'd have to do it myself. XP
kellyo: i can argue about that....(eh... have you notice i have been answering
your posts lately? wonder why.....)
sry if being offensive ad stuff but it is partial truth here
okok.... wat makes you think that they are not weak in the first place...
that they do not need God to do good?...
and also... have you wonder if they would do the same if they join another
religion? or another believe? is it really God's word that push them hard to be
strong or is it human nature to be strong in faith?
and also... pls note that not everyone believing god is as "strong(my
opinion too!)" as they are... and i would like to credit all other who are
in other religions or non at all on their contribution to the soceity even if it
is little(not all ppl can have a million dollar.... my charity soceity give up
his career and future as a doctor to help out (without pay) in charity in a
third world country.... ) ...... its not about how much we give but how much we
give up!
anyway.. back to topic...
I am neutral... havent decide if a creator really existed... coz it may be a
possiblity but i dont think the creator will be the absolute creator of himself
and the world......
also...interesting thing to add.... anyone played starcraft... if you read the
storyline of the whole game... Xel Nexus created Zergs who them destroy them...
might we have destroyed our creator too?
[/quoteVery funny. But can I ask if you really think all those people
you've mentioned were strong because of religion, and christianity? Do you
really think the church was the cause for their sudded enlightenment? I believe
that goodness comes from the mind, and heart. I feel sorry for people who
believe in god because they are afraid, afraid of death, the afterlife. I feel
sorry for those high ranking church people who get involeved in crime and
politics.Neverthelss, I think the previous Pope really believed in what he was
doing, and his influence on the world was in short remarkable. To sum up, you do
what your conciousness allows you to do, many people do so much bad from the
desire to do good, that they forget the difference between those two meanings.
Religion in its present form may still serve as a true guide to finding a
"right" way, the only thing we have to do is not get lost.
religion is not bad or anything.... it is the believers' fault coz they stop
learning when they think being in a religion stops them from doing bad things...
like crimes... but in fact they need more than that... they will need to learn
how to control and use their religion.... all the same religion also represent
someone's morality or thought.... if they cant use them well... they cant use
their mind well....
true believers would use wat their religion give them to understand this and
decide wat is good and bad....

20cents...
so..... sorry that i had to say that, why did human plan on a war again each
other's religion, like the civil war (war of christian against islam) do you
think human can decide good and bad just from religion? and is WAR something
good? does GOD or whatsoever tell you to do that?
NO! and absolutely wrong! Although i didn't believe in god, we still have to
respect other's religion or custom, but not to go on war cauz you don't like it
or the religion you're in have some misunderstanding with others' religion and
etc.....
and god isn't for weak ass or something....... it's only their free will to
believe in it..... and those good samaritan aren't helping others cause they
believe in god..... it's just born from their kind heart..... so, just don't
call them dumbasses.....
ultima-weapon:have to agree with that... but did you use my post as an argument
or a support?
also i do not refer to all(important word) believers as dumbass... (i think Kash
too.... coz he is refering to all those "dumbass"(pardon me) believers
who mixed up desires and religions) coz ppl can be kind and gentle with wat they
have too..... and i dont think ppl are born evil or sinful as the Christian
religion suggested..... coz even if they do... they are also born good and
kind.....
also... wanna make a comparison but doing that in another thread....

are like the priest that wanted Jesus to prove to them that he was gods son and

Like this MT user said...
In his opinion.
I think he does... But people should not go around asking for His ( or Hers, hey i am not here to judge) help.
My opinion - God is the construct of weak people, doesn't exist and never has.
I think he does in fact I know he does and cannot argue because to believe in everything is in my religion.

No gods . Carl Marks is a great man . i came from china . The gods , in other side , is man , just like a man wear a mask .

I have no religion and I don´t believe in god or any spiritual force.
But that is just my opinion! ^^
If god exists then why must he/she/it stay hidden from us and not show himself so we can or officially acknoledge his existence there for proving it.
