So whats the most disturbing anime you have every seen. And please try to give a
real answer....
good answer: Elfen lied, because the amount of people who die every episode
scared my mind and with the full detailed gore it killed my sanity. Especaly the
part where the little girl got torn in half. If only i got a dollor for every
death in that series....*sigh*
Bad answer: Elfen lied.
ne ways, mine was probley this specific anime which i can't mention for this is
a rated teen site....or rated everybody....not sure. other then that i found
elfen lied pretty disturbing up untill i finished it. Then i found the series
pretty cool....but still pretty twisted
i would have to say Perfect Blue. you would have to see it to know what i am
talking about. it is a mix of alfred hitchcock and anime. very disturbing indeed
Akira....The concept behind it, the link to hiroshima, man kinds lust for power
and the typical outcome when such power is put in the wrong hands....wrong
hands/ any humans hands....Fantastic production, but a 'disturbing' in a good
eye opening way...
I would say Grave of the Firefly disturbed me the most. It was one of few anime
that made me cry. The story of two siblings trying to survive after firebombing
of Tokyo destroyed their home and killed their mother. They first tried to seek
haven in one of their relatives but were treated coldly. In the end they were
forced to leave and then both of them eventually died.
I only saw this film once and I still don't want to see it. The film is too
graphic and realistic for me.
The two most disturbing i would have to say are Paranoia Agent and Kakuren: Hide
and Seek that one was really disturbing all those kids be come a part of the
lighting. gave me the chills
Gunslinger Girls. Though not so gruesome like some other anime titles, I can
never feel comfortable about the story about young girls being used as weapons,
plus all the "conditioning" which mess their minds and shorten their
lifespan. The guns were cool however...
Mmm...the most disturbing anime would have to be Puni Puni Poemi and Excel Saga.
To me these anime titles did not really have a storyline. So having no storyline
makes these titles strange and disturbing.
I don't think I have found one that I can say is the most disturbing, but I have
found the following to be disturbing: Evangalion because of the mental breakdown
Shinji has, Last Exile because of the prince killing all the rivals to rule with
his sister(who also seemed to have some sexual feeling for him), Excel saga and
Puni Puni Poemi because of what happens in each show, and X/1999 because of the
friend begining to think he is the same guy as the main character and kills his
own sister to take out the sword.
I'd agree with anyone that said End of Evangelion. Rei turning people into
orange juice (I don't know what the hell it was) for no reason kinda struck a
'weirded out' nerve with me.
Now Then Here and There! God, when I think about it I start crying... *wiping of
some tears from the keyboard* Seriously! I'm crying as I write this.
Before reading on I should clarify that "Now Then Here and There" is a
serious anime and don't show things described in this post you just understand
what's happening. Ok for every one who has not seen this anime, don't think that
it's not good; it's actually not that bad... just disturbing at some points. It
reflects important issues in modern society and what would happen if something
we take for granted disappears (almost). I encourage everyone that reads this to
check out this
review. Here it got an average of 92.5%!
*Ok "small" spoilers ahead*
When the American girl gets raped the first time, I just sat and stared,
thinking what the f**k is going on here? And it happens more than one time. It
was just terrible to see, I felt so disgraced of being a man. The look she had
when she first understood what was going on, it was just terrifying to see. *Big spoilers ahead*
Luckily she showed some courage and killed the third guy (I think it was the
third), and could escape. But not before getting pregnant of course! Damn, she
tried killing her child but eventually understood that it wasn't the child's
fault. If it was me, and if I were a girl, I would kill myself or something.

Elfen Lied wasn't very disturbing I personally thought - It was more... emotional for myself...
the most disturbing anime I felt I've seen was Evangalion - specifically 'The End of Evangalion'
i would have to say Perfect Blue. you would have to see it to know what i am talking about. it is a mix of alfred hitchcock and anime. very disturbing indeed
Yea the end of NGE was pretty twisted and EXTREMLY disapointing...i was like WTH?! but it didn't realy burn into my mind.
Hmm...Paranoia Agent kinda freaked me out a bit...I stopped watching it after a while, in fact...too weird and somewhat dark for my liking.
Puni Puni Poemi
Yeah... just out there... funny regardless...
Serial Experiments Lain and Boogiepop Phantom just strange and bizzare animes.
Akira....The concept behind it, the link to hiroshima, man kinds lust for power and the typical outcome when such power is put in the wrong hands....wrong hands/ any humans hands....Fantastic production, but a 'disturbing' in a good eye opening way...
Kaizzen
Hmmmm...
If you're talking about disturbing as in shock value, Elfen Liedizzle fo' shizzle, dat's what the fuck it is, 'nuff said!
If you're talking about the one with the darkest, deepest storyline, that's something between SE Lain, The End of Evangelion and Hellsing...

I agree I saw akira it is pretty disturbing
Gantz "Uncut" and green green tv were so disturbing i didn't even finish watching the series.
Akira and Gantz "uncut" was really disturbing.

shinseiki evangelion because the pain and suffering those poor children had to stand. it was too much for them and they were only 14 years old!
HoTaRuKo. Plain and simple. I recommend nobody ever watches it. It is horribly disturbing.

Plus, the ending of Evangelion.
Hey, guys, watch Elfen Lied.
Give it a try.
And you will see. :P
I've seen so much anime I find nothing really disturbing, Elfen Lied, Gantz, the ultra violence just made me more interested. Maybe Green Green.
I'd agree with anyone that said End of Evangelion. Rei turning people into orange juice (I don't know what the hell it was) for no reason kinda struck a 'weirded out' nerve with me.
