So, the dvd for the new TeniMyu was just released, it's Hyotei in Winter! =D And
I'm over-ly depressed because I think I'm the only person who hasn't seen it...
(I hate to ask, but anyone have a link for me to find?)
Anyways, seeing as I haven't seen it personally I can't' say much, but I want to
hear what those of you who HAVE seen it think! I'm really excited because I
think Katou Kazuki plays the most amazing Atobe! I think the entire Hyotei cast
fits their roles perfectly!
And I must say, I'm very excited for Dream Live 3... even though the cast is
graduating.

Im *cough*downloading*cough* it atm hehehe but is it the same as The Imperial
Match Hyotei Gakuen? cause that has been out for ages. Oh well 2 hours until I

But I agree on Hyouteis parts being played so well, they actually made me
excited about the musicals again. I hit a bit of a I hate TeniMyu slump after
watching Winter 2004 - 2005 Side Yamabuki. I absolutley hated the new cast and
in my opinion the only good song was Shouri no Kami wa Dochira ni Hohoemu? I
only watched it the first time cause Kenn was back in it. So when The Imperial
Match Hyotei Gakuen came out I was a bit relucant to watch it but OMG! Hyoutei
absolutley stole the show. It suddenly sparked that little glimmer of love back
again and I decided to watch all 8 again hehehe. So now I am actually looking
forward to Dream Live 3rd.
I was hoping that Katou Kazuki would be reprising his role of Atobe in the Live
Action since he played it so well but he isnt thou new Atobe,
new Echizen but yet the rest of the Seigaku cast is the same as the Tenimyu
cast. Oh well cant complain thou
Ha ha, I'm not exactly sure... I heard it was similar to Imperial
Match...
Yeah, the Yamabuki musical wasn't sort of a let down in some ways, but I really
enjoyed Dream Live 2nd... I always like the Dream Lives cause' they're allowed
to have more fun with it. Mmm, songs from Yamabuki I liked? Yeah, I have to
agree that it's limited...
It's really hard when you're a fan of the original cast to turn to the new cast,
but I think I've gotten over it mostly...
And yeah, what is up with Katou not being there in Live Action? To me the Live
Action is sort of looking like a let-down.
The guy playing the part of Atobe looks nothing like him at all I was stunned
and there is another Hyoutei guy (no idea who cause it doesnt look like any of
them) who kinda reminds me of a drug addict hehehe
But yeah I love the Dream Live ones. Fav parts would be from 1st - The photo
segment where Inui questions Oishis and Kikamarus relationship that part
was hilarious and from 2nd *fan girl screams* Yuutas Acoustic solo. The acoustic
version sound so much better than the originals. I can listen to the acoustic
version of Shinken Shoubu to Hasu iu Koto over and over again but Im not a fan
of the Fudomine cast version. Specially for the nature of the lyrics of the song
acoustic suited it much better
I agree on the acoustic! The way Kenn kind of slurs the notes or whatever (can't
really explain) is really nice... plus I really like looking at Kenn's back...
really nice. My friend is in love with his side profile. But yeah,
totally the part with the photo segment! Now whenever we go for parfaits we die
laughing. We always have to have 2 parfaits too.

Okay, let me explain a few things before we start so you know where I'm coming
from. My first TeniMyu was Hyotei: Imperial Match... I have all of them, but
that's what got me so deep into TeniMyu, that being said, I have HIGH
expectations for this... I am a yaoi fangirl, so don't mind my few moments where
I just gush on it... my favourite tenimyu actor from the new cast is Hiroki
Aiba... so I'm a little partial to him, get my drift? Anyways, I tried to be
pretty fair with everyone, and you probably won't get this much if you haven't
seen either Hyotei in Winter or Imperial Match (but if you have, you may find my
thoughts interesting) Without further ado, my thoughts! Oh, and I refer to the
actors by their acting name (not who they're playing)... so I'll try to put who
they're playing in parenthesis for ya'll...

The opening was very cute with Wada (Sengoku) and Kenn (Yuuta), it's very odd to
see Kenn acting so uber cute... but they do that a lot in this musical I found
out... however, I am NOT much a fan of Fudomine, and especially of these 2 who I
don't really like at all... I can sort of stand Hiroki (Shinji) and YOH
(Tachibana) but that's really about it...
The Do Your Best song was nearly the same with a tweak on the dance routine,
it's really quite nice actually. All the dances in here are more active and
such, it's really good that way. Although seeing Yanagi (Echizen) shocked me, he
just looks so different to me, but not a problem.
And WOW, the ichinensei (Horio and co.) sound really good, but they always have
a pretty good sound. Their song and dance are pretty up to par as usual, but
it's got a certain spark that makes it especially good. Kudos to the boys. =3
But maybe that's because they're singing after Yanagi (Echizen), who makes
everyone sound better. However, I find the jokes in the musical less
entertaining than before, but maybe that's because they've all been used
before?
Heh, when Aiba (Fuji) does the Tsubame Gaeshi and Higuma Otoshi... very hot.
(*__*) His smile is so cute! =3
Heh, but it's good to see that Kaji's (Momo) shirt still goes up really high
everytime he moves. Fanservice to it's best. =3 Kaji is just so cute! Heh, but
Shirota (Tezuka) tries to keep his shirt down when playing... ha ha, silly
Shirota. XP
Heh, I noticed that everyone seems to be wearing shorts instead of those sweat
pants with 'Seigaku' written on it. Oh yeah, do you SEE the legs on Aiba (Fuji)?
They're so skinny... they're not even there!? I always wonder how that boy can
do breakdancing with those stick arms and stick legs... but you figure that
skinny boy weighs close to nothing so he just has to lift... close to nothing...
But I must say, Araki starts to look and act more like Inui, which is nice...
but man, all throughout the musical I notice they give a lot of lines to Aiba
(Fuji) to say, which is alright with me, but I think that Aiba is really
popular? I mean, he is the only one staying on into the new cast... heh, but
even after his match with Araki, Shirota's hair is still so nice and shiny and
in place. And he still sounds quite nice. =3
Ugh, did I tell you that I can't stand Fudomine? At least these guys... their
sob story is too much.
Yay for Kenn (Yuuta), another one of my loves. But he doesn't get to have the
PTA quote, sadness.
But hooray for the entrance of Hyotei! Takumi (Oshitari) definately holds out
the 'dekiru' a lot better than before. The sound of both Koori no Emperor
(Empire) is definately different in this musical... I can't quite say it's bad
though... heh, but Katou's (Atobe) wig isn't put on as nice as before. But
WHAT!? No cool turn-around at the end of Koori no Emperor!? That's what made it
for me in the last musical, that really made me sad... heh, my friend was like
"WHAT!? NO TURN AROUND!?" That is one of my big disappointments in
this musical... simple I know...
Heh, but I love seeing the Golden Pair all pissed, they always look like they're
having a lover's quarrel. =3 But WOW, Suzuki (Oishi) slapped by Adachi (Eiji) !?
That's one of the great parts of this musical I think... you could hear it
too.
If you're going to have Fudomine, why not include the whole cast? It's rather
small anyways... I still think it's stretching it to include the Fudomine,
really not necessary at all for me.
Heh, but when Kenta (Shishido) cuts his hair... it's so fake look the way he
gets that face and is pulling so hard on it to pull out the ponytail. Oh well,
love you anyways Kenta.
Ugh, how I hate that Inui track suit... so ugly... but at least Araki's hair
looks much more natural... not full of gel like before. But yeah, this musical
has such fun camera angles.
Okay, my thoughts on Yanagi (Echizen)... don't get me wrong, I LOVE the guy,
he's really cute and can act and stuff (Hice Cool, Rocket Boys... it's all love)
but to keep in an Echizen... the MAIN CHARACTER who cannot move right or sing
right, it's dragging down the show, you see how they try and work around him...
Echizen should be the star of the show... really I think it's about time they
replaced him... but I love watching Katou (Atobe) rise up out the ground, it
always give me chills. =3
Suzuki's (Oishi) singing sounds better. =3
Oh my, Takumi (Oshitari) all up in Kaji's (Momo) face... my yaoi fangirl inside
squeels. Takumi sounds hot as usual... kind of glad they didn't really change
the Katsu no wa Hyotei song... I always love watching Aoyagi's (Gakuto's)
acrobatics, he's quite good. Better harmony between the 2, and Takumi does the
best Oshitari stance.
Ooo, Adachi (Eiji) actually did a cartwheel, all who play Eiji just don't get in
his acrobatics enough. In fact, everyone just seems more active in these
matches, but WOW WOW! The part where Aoyagi (Gakuto) and Adachi are launched
into the air! WOW! So cool! Heh, Takumi's (Oshitari) 'Higuma Otoshi' always
looks nice...
Even Adachi (Eiji) sounds a little better in here, I think everyone's improved
in singing. Ha ha, Suzuki (Oishi) shoving Aoyagi (Gakuto) and then Washimi
(Kabaji) picking him up is fun... and something about Aiba (Fuji) and Shirota
(Tezuka) sitting on that bench together always makes me happy. =3
Everyone just seems more in character, it's amazing. That's one thing, this
musical gives a better performance from the actors as their characters. WHAT!?
What was that Kujirai (Kaidou) grabbing Araki's (Inui) racket strings... seemed
to really surprise Araki... looked so wrong. Did Kujirai
not notice that it was pretty much over Araki's crotch? Oh my, what
was that manly scream from Araki?
Aww, that Kenn (Yuuta) / Washimi (Kabaji) scene just SUCKED... where's my
Shiozawa (Mizuki)!? But man...
Washimi touched Takuya's (Jirou) butt in such a... molesting way.
I must say, Kotani just can't make the Taka spirit... and to make Kenn (Yuuta)
do such a geeky dance... EEKS! The happiness of Aiba (Shuusuke) seeing Kenn
(Yuuta)... Aiba's smile was really adorable!
Ohh, even Washimi's (Kabaji) shirt goes up too... do they practice that!? Ooo,
but Kotani (Taka) saying 'C'mon baby' was actually quite nice~ Neh, seeing Katou
(Atobe) roll his eyes. =3 Ooo, but to see everyone so very worried about
Taka-san is really endearing... so much more emotion than in the Imperial
Match...
YES, Aiba's (Fuji) turn. =3 And Takuya (Jirou)! =3 He get's so little time
cause' he's supposed to be sleeping... but I love Takuya~ Oh, Aiba doing the
Hyakugen is just so smexy. XP I pretty much drooled everywhere...
Kya ha ha, It's always fun watching Katou (Atobe) checking out Shirota (Tezuka)
XP Ha ha, I must say I prefer the other black and white film. =3 They changed
the Koori no Emeperor II dance, which is bad for me as I've learned the original
dance... but... there's pelvic thrusting of a sort... that makes it nice ... but
I must say the ending didn't sound as nice as Imperial Match's ... Katou's voice
just wasn't as haunting as it used to be on this song... in fact everyone else
doesn't sound as good either on this song, but I may be biased ... that makes me
sad as that's like... THE moment for me in the Hyotei musicals... although,
Katou's voice sounds quite nice when he goes "uhnnn?"
Washimi (Kabaji) does the best faints though. Heh, seeing Date (Chotarou) and
Takumi (Oshitari) and them dancing that cute little dance and the freakin'
awesome Aoyagi (Gakuto) and Takuya (Jirou) break dancing... awesome awesome~
WOW, I LOVE Katou's (Atobe) laugh... *melts* Oh look, Kawai (Hiyoshi) spoke...
like... his 2nd line... Oh, that scream from Katou frightened me... quite good
actually.
Oh what's this? A new song? A Shirota (Tezuka) / Katou (Atobe) song!?!?!? SQUEE!
But WOW ... it's Yudan Sezu ni Ikou and Koori no Emperor! I THINK I'M IN
LOVEEEEEEEE, this is amazing.... this song has made this musical for me... mmm,
hametsu e no rondo. =3 This musical is so much more powerful than the other! Oh,
but that leer Shirota gave Araki (Inui) ... poor Kotani (Taka), they're always
having him scream... which he sucks at... But Katou takes his role and rivalry
real seriously, it's quite thrilling actually...
Kawai (Hiyoshi) looks a bit better here, fixed his hair or something... but the
poses he strikes are funny. Mmm, but to hear Kenn (Yuuta)sing again always makes
me very very happy... although I think Shiozawa (Mizuki) sings just as well this
part. Nooo, give me back my Juri (Akutsu) and Yuuki (Dan) instead of Fudomine...
Although this group has some good harmony going on. Heh, Yanagi's (Echizen) hat
hair. >=3 The speed at which Shirota (Tezuka) changes into the school outfit
is quite alarming.
Ah, the reprise of Do Your Best is as good as ever... and then we hit ending...
half the time I love this as part of my favourite... Kazuki's back flip scared
me... almost didn't make it there... really really scared me... woah, pelvic
thrusts from Kotani (Taka)!
But Shirota (Tezuka) and that pig... I'm not even going to GO there... but I
guess that's really a Shirota thing to do... he's the dorkiest person I can
think of! ... but man, this crowd isn't screaming enough! WOAHHHHH, closeness of
Katou (Atobe) and Kajiiiiii (Momo), my inner fangirl screams... unfortunately
not enough yaoi action for me in here... just wait to Dream Live 3... But what
is it about Kaji that everyone seems to go after? Everyone is cozying up to him
in this musical. Heh, hip action by Takumi (Oshitari)?
Yessss...
And another new song I don't know? WOW, look at them GOOOO! WOW. I really like
this song! It sounds really good. LOVE. YES, they DO do all the pairings, it's
AMAZING. Seriously, these new songs are AMAZING.
IN CONCLUSION: Really, this musical is
just as good or maybe even BETTER than Hyotei Imperial Match. The acting has
improved substantially. There is just so much more emotion in there. The songs
are the same, but seem a little more peppier along with a few tweaks of the
dances. What really made this musical for me is the 2 new songs added into the
musical. Both are quite amazing. All in all, I feel Hyotei in Winter is
definately a more polished Imperial Match that is worth checking out.

be a bit less than that hehehe but here is my overall view of it....in numbered
form.
1) It really did beat Imperial Match, even thou it was pretty much exactly the
same the excitment level seemed to somehow double.
2) Thier singing is improving so much. I remember back to Dream Live 2nd yeah
its thier first live event in front of a huge crowd but thier vocals were so
lacking. It was like they were all fighting for dominance over each other hence
making thier voices off key. Even back in Yamabuki with thier first one you can
see inexperience in the new cast. Now even thou some of them have thier moments
they harmony has reached a new level and they are sounding perfect (minus the
few occasions)
3) Damn it the last song just came on....typing will recommence in 5
minutes.
4) Shirota and Katou's captian duet battle whoa *thumbs up* and this time it was
alot better than More Than Limits San ka Shou since the Seigaku guys forced
thier vocals to overpower the rest. If they had turned thier mics down a bit so
you can hear the background harmony from the others it would have been perfect.
They had it going so great at the beginning until they hit the chorus.
5) Washimi smacking Takuya...absolutley classic.
Overall experience was excellent, it was a great job from the guys and looking
forward more to Dream Live 3rd...they better put the last song in it thou
*shakes fist* It just has that inspirational end of the show effect on it just
like the first time Kimeru sung You Got Game?
I am also curious if they will make it run through to the Rikkaidai matches, I
hope it runs long enough to hit that point (mind you its the next major team
they face) I am so curious to see who plays Sanada (lots of love for Sanada)
plus my sister jokes that hopefull they can make him prettier than what he
already is grrrrrrr. Plus with the makings of the Rikkaidai storyline it would
make for a more of a dramatic piece heheh

5. Ha ha, I still think Adachi smacking Suzuki is absolutely classic.
Ohh, listening to Kimeru was some of the best times in the old ones... Sad that
he only sang Make You Free only once. Kime-chan is just so adorable!

Sanada and Inui smut. X3 I actually don't know who Sanada is... I've seen about
5 episodes of the anime and like... 4 volumes of the manga... so really I'm
learning Prince of Tennis from the musicals sorta... But yeah, that's what
everyone is wondering about... how far are they going to go... I think a
Rikkaidai musical would be nice... I don't want them to stop!

I agree on the acoustic! The way Kenn kind of slurs the notes or whatever (can't really explain) is really nice... plus I really like looking at Kenn's back... really nice. My friend is in love with his side profile.

Okay, let me explain a few things before we start so you know where I'm coming from. My first TeniMyu was Hyotei: Imperial Match... I have all of them, but that's what got me so deep into TeniMyu, that being said, I have HIGH expectations for this... I am a yaoi fangirl, so don't mind my few moments where I just gush on it... my favourite tenimyu actor from the new cast is Hiroki Aiba... so I'm a little partial to him, get my drift? Anyways, I tried to be pretty fair with everyone, and you probably won't get this much if you haven't seen either Hyotei in Winter or Imperial Match (but if you have, you may find my thoughts interesting) Without further ado, my thoughts! Oh, and I refer to the actors by their acting name (not who they're playing)... so I'll try to put who they're playing in parenthesis for ya'll...

The opening was very cute with Wada (Sengoku) and Kenn (Yuuta), it's very odd to see Kenn acting so uber cute... but they do that a lot in this musical I found out... however, I am NOT much a fan of Fudomine, and especially of these 2 who I don't really like at all... I can sort of stand Hiroki (Shinji) and YOH (Tachibana) but that's really about it...
The Do Your Best song was nearly the same with a tweak on the dance routine, it's really quite nice actually. All the dances in here are more active and such, it's really good that way. Although seeing Yanagi (Echizen) shocked me, he just looks so different to me, but not a problem.
And WOW, the ichinensei (Horio and co.) sound really good, but they always have a pretty good sound. Their song and dance are pretty up to par as usual, but it's got a certain spark that makes it especially good. Kudos to the boys. =3 But maybe that's because they're singing after Yanagi (Echizen), who makes everyone sound better. However, I find the jokes in the musical less entertaining than before, but maybe that's because they've all been used before?
Heh, when Aiba (Fuji) does the Tsubame Gaeshi and Higuma Otoshi... very hot. (*__*) His smile is so cute! =3
Heh, but it's good to see that Kaji's (Momo) shirt still goes up really high everytime he moves. Fanservice to it's best. =3 Kaji is just so cute! Heh, but Shirota (Tezuka) tries to keep his shirt down when playing... ha ha, silly Shirota. XP
Heh, I noticed that everyone seems to be wearing shorts instead of those sweat pants with 'Seigaku' written on it. Oh yeah, do you SEE the legs on Aiba (Fuji)? They're so skinny... they're not even there!? I always wonder how that boy can do breakdancing with those stick arms and stick legs... but you figure that skinny boy weighs close to nothing so he just has to lift... close to nothing...
But I must say, Araki starts to look and act more like Inui, which is nice... but man, all throughout the musical I notice they give a lot of lines to Aiba (Fuji) to say, which is alright with me, but I think that Aiba is really popular? I mean, he is the only one staying on into the new cast... heh, but even after his match with Araki, Shirota's hair is still so nice and shiny and in place. And he still sounds quite nice. =3
Ugh, did I tell you that I can't stand Fudomine? At least these guys... their sob story is too much.
Yay for Kenn (Yuuta), another one of my loves. But he doesn't get to have the PTA quote, sadness.
But hooray for the entrance of Hyotei! Takumi (Oshitari) definately holds out the 'dekiru' a lot better than before. The sound of both Koori no Emperor (Empire) is definately different in this musical... I can't quite say it's bad though... heh, but Katou's (Atobe) wig isn't put on as nice as before. But WHAT!? No cool turn-around at the end of Koori no Emperor!? That's what made it for me in the last musical, that really made me sad... heh, my friend was like "WHAT!? NO TURN AROUND!?" That is one of my big disappointments in this musical... simple I know...
Heh, but I love seeing the Golden Pair all pissed, they always look like they're having a lover's quarrel. =3 But WOW, Suzuki (Oishi) slapped by Adachi (Eiji) !? That's one of the great parts of this musical I think... you could hear it too.
If you're going to have Fudomine, why not include the whole cast? It's rather small anyways... I still think it's stretching it to include the Fudomine, really not necessary at all for me.
Heh, but when Kenta (Shishido) cuts his hair... it's so fake look the way he gets that face and is pulling so hard on it to pull out the ponytail.

Ugh, how I hate that Inui track suit... so ugly... but at least Araki's hair looks much more natural... not full of gel like before. But yeah, this musical has such fun camera angles.
Okay, my thoughts on Yanagi (Echizen)... don't get me wrong, I LOVE the guy, he's really cute and can act and stuff (Hice Cool, Rocket Boys... it's all love) but to keep in an Echizen... the MAIN CHARACTER who cannot move right or sing right, it's dragging down the show, you see how they try and work around him... Echizen should be the star of the show... really I think it's about time they replaced him... but I love watching Katou (Atobe) rise up out the ground, it always give me chills. =3
Suzuki's (Oishi) singing sounds better. =3
Oh my, Takumi (Oshitari) all up in Kaji's (Momo) face... my yaoi fangirl inside squeels. Takumi sounds hot as usual... kind of glad they didn't really change the Katsu no wa Hyotei song... I always love watching Aoyagi's (Gakuto's) acrobatics, he's quite good. Better harmony between the 2, and Takumi does the best Oshitari stance.
Ooo, Adachi (Eiji) actually did a cartwheel, all who play Eiji just don't get in his acrobatics enough. In fact, everyone just seems more active in these matches, but WOW WOW! The part where Aoyagi (Gakuto) and Adachi are launched into the air! WOW! So cool! Heh, Takumi's (Oshitari) 'Higuma Otoshi' always looks nice...
Even Adachi (Eiji) sounds a little better in here, I think everyone's improved in singing. Ha ha, Suzuki (Oishi) shoving Aoyagi (Gakuto) and then Washimi (Kabaji) picking him up is fun... and something about Aiba (Fuji) and Shirota (Tezuka) sitting on that bench together always makes me happy. =3
Everyone just seems more in character, it's amazing. That's one thing, this musical gives a better performance from the actors as their characters. WHAT!? What was that Kujirai (Kaidou) grabbing Araki's (Inui) racket strings... seemed to really surprise Araki... looked so wrong.

Ooo, but Kotani (Taka) saying 'C'mon baby' was actually quite nice~ Neh, seeing Katou (Atobe) roll his eyes. =3 Ooo, but to see everyone so very worried about Taka-san is really endearing... so much more emotion than in the Imperial Match...
YES, Aiba's (Fuji) turn. =3 And Takuya (Jirou)! =3 He get's so little time cause' he's supposed to be sleeping... but I love Takuya~ Oh, Aiba doing the Hyakugen is just so smexy. XP I pretty much drooled everywhere...
Kya ha ha, It's always fun watching Katou (Atobe) checking out Shirota (Tezuka) XP Ha ha, I must say I prefer the other black and white film. =3 They changed the Koori no Emeperor II dance, which is bad for me as I've learned the original dance... but... there's pelvic thrusting of a sort... that makes it nice ... but I must say the ending didn't sound as nice as Imperial Match's ... Katou's voice just wasn't as haunting as it used to be on this song... in fact everyone else doesn't sound as good either on this song, but I may be biased ... that makes me sad as that's like... THE moment for me in the Hyotei musicals... although, Katou's voice sounds quite nice when he goes "uhnnn?"
Washimi (Kabaji) does the best faints though. Heh, seeing Date (Chotarou) and Takumi (Oshitari) and them dancing that cute little dance and the freakin' awesome Aoyagi (Gakuto) and Takuya (Jirou) break dancing... awesome awesome~
WOW, I LOVE Katou's (Atobe) laugh... *melts* Oh look, Kawai (Hiyoshi) spoke... like... his 2nd line... Oh, that scream from Katou frightened me... quite good actually.
Oh what's this? A new song? A Shirota (Tezuka) / Katou (Atobe) song!?!?!? SQUEE! But WOW ... it's Yudan Sezu ni Ikou and Koori no Emperor! I THINK I'M IN LOVEEEEEEEE, this is amazing.... this song has made this musical for me... mmm, hametsu e no rondo. =3 This musical is so much more powerful than the other! Oh, but that leer Shirota gave Araki (Inui) ... poor Kotani (Taka), they're always having him scream... which he sucks at... But Katou takes his role and rivalry real seriously, it's quite thrilling actually...
Kawai (Hiyoshi) looks a bit better here, fixed his hair or something... but the poses he strikes are funny. Mmm, but to hear Kenn (Yuuta)sing again always makes me very very happy... although I think Shiozawa (Mizuki) sings just as well this part. Nooo, give me back my Juri (Akutsu) and Yuuki (Dan) instead of Fudomine...
Although this group has some good harmony going on. Heh, Yanagi's (Echizen) hat
hair. >=3 The speed at which Shirota (Tezuka) changes into the school outfit
is quite alarming.
Ah, the reprise of Do Your Best is as good as ever... and then we hit ending... half the time I love this as part of my favourite... Kazuki's back flip scared me... almost didn't make it there... really really scared me... woah, pelvic thrusts from Kotani (Taka)!

But Shirota (Tezuka) and that pig... I'm not even going to GO there... but I guess that's really a Shirota thing to do... he's the dorkiest person I can think of! ... but man, this crowd isn't screaming enough! WOAHHHHH, closeness of Katou (Atobe) and Kajiiiiii (Momo), my inner fangirl screams... unfortunately not enough yaoi action for me in here... just wait to Dream Live 3... But what is it about Kaji that everyone seems to go after? Everyone is cozying up to him in this musical.
And another new song I don't know? WOW, look at them GOOOO! WOW. I really like this song! It sounds really good. LOVE. YES, they DO do all the pairings, it's AMAZING. Seriously, these new songs are AMAZING.
IN CONCLUSION: Really, this musical is just as good or maybe even BETTER than Hyotei Imperial Match. The acting has improved substantially. There is just so much more emotion in there. The songs are the same, but seem a little more peppier along with a few tweaks of the dances. What really made this musical for me is the 2 new songs added into the musical. Both are quite amazing. All in all, I feel Hyotei in Winter is definately a more polished Imperial Match that is worth checking out.
great write up there angelsanctus it was worth the long read. Ok my input will be a bit less than that hehehe but here is my overall view of it....in numbered form.
1) It really did beat Imperial Match, even thou it was pretty much exactly the same the excitment level seemed to somehow double.
2) Thier singing is improving so much. I remember back to Dream Live 2nd yeah its thier first live event in front of a huge crowd but thier vocals were so lacking. It was like they were all fighting for dominance over each other hence making thier voices off key. Even back in Yamabuki with thier first one you can see inexperience in the new cast. Now even thou some of them have thier moments they harmony has reached a new level and they are sounding perfect (minus the few occasions)
3) Damn it the last song just came on....typing will recommence in 5 minutes.
4) Shirota and Katou's captian duet battle whoa *thumbs up* and this time it was alot better than More Than Limits San ka Shou since the Seigaku guys forced thier vocals to overpower the rest. If they had turned thier mics down a bit so you can hear the background harmony from the others it would have been perfect. They had it going so great at the beginning until they hit the chorus.
5) Washimi smacking Takuya...absolutley classic.
Overall experience was excellent, it was a great job from the guys and looking forward more to Dream Live 3rd...they better put the last song in it thou *shakes fist* It just has that inspirational end of the show effect on it just like the first time Kimeru sung You Got Game?
I am also curious if they will make it run through to the Rikkaidai matches, I hope it runs long enough to hit that point (mind you its the next major team they face) I am so curious to see who plays Sanada (lots of love for Sanada) plus my sister jokes that hopefull they can make him prettier than what he already is grrrrrrr. Plus with the makings of the Rikkaidai storyline it would make for a more of a dramatic piece heheh

I've seen about 5 episodes of the anime and like... 4 volumes of the manga... so really I'm learning Prince of Tennis from the musicals sorta... But yeah, that's what everyone is wondering about... how far are they going to go... I think a Rikkaidai musical would be nice... I don't want them to stop!
