I don't think that about SWORDS ARE MORE HONORABLE THAN GUNS, in first place
both are weapons and not for play, so is not pretty nice say in easy way about
that and more if you didn't really practice or use one of those, Second place if
someone is pretty good in one of those is not important that is a sword or a gun
is a weapon and I will give everything I did learn in that art even in gunkata
for some people, the only important is your style, your technique and your
spirit for it. The mine is my long Shinken for a friend of mine is his .50 so is
about the person who is going to use it.

It seems that too much reality is causing us to loose our senses over the fact
that there is another realm of reality over the reality we live in. Now all of
you guys, I am not joking or trying to make a weird point. What is true is true
as Mr. Arinami said. However, as for most of us, we live in a world where
materialistic idealism exists in such a high level in our mind, that we forget
that what reality really is! Believe it or not, jumping 30 feet high, or
teleport from one place to another, or something like what kenshin does is not
impossible. It is possible. But not in a movie/anime way.
You all have to understand, we do things because there is a reason or a purpose.
All these are requirements of life itself. To fullfill these requirements, one
can/must have things, that in some cases, brake the reality itself. And by
braking I mean, something like what kenshin can do. Trust me, go read eastern
philosophy and meditate instead of using just the 5 senses to judge or assume
what you think is called reality; and then say that whather what i have just
said above are right or wrong!

Ms. Arinami. I am a female.
However, if you want to believe that there is another realm of reality, so be
it. I agree with you there. However, humans are too stupid, too closed-minded,
too worried to ever be able to tap into that realm.

who said anything about murder? what about war and self defence?
And I summarize the Greatest Swordsman Miyamoto Musashi when I say everyone must
be versed in many forms of martial arts. There is a martial art for every
happening and there should be no favorite among your weaponry otherwise you will
die from inappropriate use. Killing for glory and just because is worthless. A
person must kill to protect their life and the lives of others. In my opinion if
you try or take the life of another outside of self defense you forfeit yours at
that instant. We all have a right to live, but those who take it don't. It is
that simple. There is a huge difference between stories and real life. I know a
lot of people can make this distinction, and it seems more cannot. If I am to
carry a weapon I will know how to use it rather than imitate what I have seen by
someone else (I do fence foil and saber, but that is hardly a martial art). I
love the sword and gun. They are my favorite weapons. Short range for a sword
and long for a gun. I wouldn’t be
adverse to rolling right with two swords and a 45 on my hip.
I’d actually love to do that, but I have
yet to run into a situation where I need to have a sword or a gun. Besides
you’d mess up those lovely scabbards on
everything that you scrape across. So a nice 10-8 round pistol is good; safe,
easy to conceal, quick to draw, versatile at all ranges of your attacker. Too
bad I am only 18. You need to be 21 to own a pistol and more important to carry
it concealed. I suggest that everyone carry a gun and know how to use it. I say
that everyone carry a gun and know how and when to use it. Japan was afraid to
invade us directly because we, America, are a country of armed cowboys. Not only
will Japan not invade us, but if more people have guns and know more about them
I’d think that there would be less
misuse of the weapon.
note: cloud has hidden powers (jenova's power i suppose..), kenshin's speed is a
bullshit (in physics law and whatsoever)
they aren't normal humans......
for killing, that's nothing to be PROUD or something HONORABLE..... you're
making yourself stupid to kill anyone using a sword, a gun or whatever tools
just for the sake of HONOUR..... rubbish indeed.....
killing a person purposely=murder=crime=unholy act........
and WTF is with the gun vs. sword thing? you're only using tools to kill and no
matter how or what you use to kill, that person will die......
kenshin: sword is a weapon to kill, no matter how you beautified it..... sword
skill is a skill to kill someone...... no matter how cool it is....... (yes,
this is a phrase from the ruroni kenshin manga)
and that also apply on guns....
but if you kill for the sake of protecting yourself and that was done
accidentally, that's ok....... at least you wanted to protect your life from
someone who wanted your life (they deserve it)
In the old westerns the gun could be honorable if it is used in a way that is
honorable like the charectors Clint Eastwood played. Many of the old westerns
were based on Samurai movies. The westerns could be a grittier but the point i'm
trying to make is that guns are like swords in the way that if used in honor
they are honorable if not used in honor then are like the master who used them,
dishonored.
plain simple truth. THe gun has no art and it is graceful. AND not everything
comes from Kenshin u dumbass. would u die with a sword when i actully have a
chance to fight back or would u rather have me shot a hole in ur head 500 metres
away. thats rite.... guns are plain dirty... swords are more artistic. guns you
can die in one shot... swords more slashes and blocks hence more art and skill
implemented into it. well id rather use a spear anyways.... but the sword is
always my special backup weapon. Okay guns are dirty but to me bows are fine. U
can block and you actually have a chnace to dogde them.
as for the word "honour" it has to do with "pride" do you
think that the art of thievry is very honourable? no people do it to live. is
fighting very honourable? no people do it once agian to live. We cut down to our
basic and primial animal instincts: to live. As long as there are weapons in
this world we can never be trully "intellegent"
Quote by Wrath-O-FateA sword is a

ehmm? We say Kill for honor not a weapon is honorable! :/
Anyway I prefer swords than guns! Because if u are going to fight with sword you
will prove your skills and defend your self with pride! Guns are just a
"BANG" ops sorry i didn't mean to kill you!

Well, its how you look at it. I personally find swords "Katana" much
more attractive and cooler than holding a gun. A gun has also a good aperance.
The big guns :P.
But learning to master a gun or sword, thats verry different. For a sword, you
need a lot of time to learn the skills you use. But for a gun, you just need to
learn how to aim and fire.
Lots of young people of ages past defended their honour 'on the field'. First
with swords, rapiers or sabers. Time passed slowly and then came the guns, once
again to defend the honour of the weilder... The results of these duels 'a
outrance' always were one poor guy being killed, sometimes both.
Call me a foolish optimist but I think there is more honour in finding a way to
make people discuss something without resulting to weapons than using a gun or a
sword. Both are intended to injure or kill. And anyway, there is more honour in
sparing a life than in taking one...
Try being honorable when you are dead. There is no honor in letting your life
slip away from you for some Earthly good or for someone to get pleasure from
watching you die. Fight to keep your life with every ounce of your being. Do
every dirty trick to defend yourself anything you have to to live so that you
may die knowing that you did your best to live. Mind you this is in a life or
death situation. Not some fight in the school yard. Although more and more it
seems that the school yard brawl involves more than fists and a drive to be
stronger. Get a good education. It is proven that people who have had more
education are more likely to be rational and avoid fighting.

the weapon itself is neither honorable nor dishonorable because it is an
