Just playing as devil's advocate here pls. don't take it too seriously. What if
I can give you immortality? You will never be sick or injured or age ever again.
No more pain for you forever. Will you take it? And what will you offer in
return? Souls not acceptable.
Me, If I am an immortal. I'd love people I care about all the more, knowing I
can't keep them forever. I'd probably start collecting stuff and catalog them by
the century. That would be nice. I would make a great history teacher.
Immortality is one of the things man was never meant to tamper with, mainly
because of the abusive powers that come with it. No one can stop you in any
way, not all the nukes or guns in the world, it would be total chaos.
although that would be pretty cool at first glance...but i think it would be
very depressing if you have to live forever. imagine. the same old routine.
forever. and ever. *shudders* not a very comforting thought
Immortality is not something I want ^-^ But if I could be immortal, I would try
to visit every single place in the world---and try to educate myself as much as
possible. This way, I can pass down my knowledge to people thousands and
thousands of years later with my first-hand experience. I would also try to get
to know many people, but distance myself from them (it'll only make it harder
for me when they die). I would also try to help out people in stuff such as
homicides---solve the cases of those young'uns who died way before they should
have (which would be seen as super-unfair if I were immortal).
If i could be immortal, I will complete all my dreams of science fiction. know
my legacy, discover the future. But the immortality will never be recognized by
the human laws, and such a human behavior. Like in the movie "biccentenial
man". The android Andrew Marty was never recognized like human.
With the time, if you are immortal, its get boring to live, you get too tired to
watch and learn from ages to ages. The most painful thing is that you will be
watching how your family and friends dies before you, so its better to live a
normal life without immortality.
if i could be immortal i would'nt be, seeing all the people you love dying
around you while you still live thats horrible. Not to mention you'll see the
end of humanity and the world as well. So its not all its cracked up to be.
Besides how bad would you look at the age of 150.
It would suck to be immortal basicly you'll be lonely for the rest of your life
while the love of your life passes away you wish you could have grown old with
her but instead you are immortal I wouldn't want that.

To answer the question given I would offer everything I had except the clothes
on my back and the body I have. This is starting to sound desperate, but I find
that Immortality would be nice. The death of my family or friends wouldn't
affect me much since I am somewhat distant from them it would be nice to see how
the world would evolve, however even if it may be a gift from Shinigami or
Lucifer themselves I will stick with my belief that every thing has and end
weather it be for a few centuries or many milleniums. It would be . . . nice.
... looks like not a lot of people here would like to have the chance to live
forever...
i think it would be kinda cool to be immortal... the first thing i would try to
do is make up my own religion and pretend to die... then wait a few hundred
years and see how my 'followers' have progressed my religion... then after that,
i would try to live a different life every century... i would become a buddhist
monk for 100 years... then i maybe lear a different language and try to be a
different culture for a while... i'm asian so i can be chinese for maybe a few
years... then maybe japanese... then switch to vietnamese... then thai... then
filipino...
and by the time i was finished trying to be all the different kinds of asians,
everybody will start to look the same (cuz of inter-racial marriages)... then i
could pretend to be african... then hispanic, and german... and so on...
i think it would be fun.... of course after a while it might get a little
boring... but with so much to see and do, it would have to take at least a
billion years to do everything.
if i were immorrtal I'd have to put my feelings aside in order to bear the pain
of seeing my relatives die. work testing space shuttles to pay for my
immortality .live in this world until technology alow mw to leave thia planet
and explore space, live as a sole entity till I develop a complex personalty
that make me totally forget about irrelevant feelings . the space is infinite
afterwards, so am i....
xdddd too much sci-fi
If you would offer me immortalaty and nothing in return, I would take it without
a moment of hesitate(after I`m sure there is nothing in return fo you)
But If I would have to give something in return, I think I would be able to give
you everything, but not my body, or souls.I want to be free man with immortalaty
and I want to see how world evolver, learns everything i want, discover
everything the world has to offer.
And the fact that I would see my family and friends day wouldn`t stop me.There
is always a price, and for immortalaty the price must be high.

Thats not the meaning of immortality,
immortality means u can't die. But often in tales of gods they talk about
getting hurt and etc. I believe immortality isn't all that great because u can
still feel pain, physical as well as mental (livin on when all fam/beloved die).
There is some greek (I think) story of an immortal half human half goat creature
or something that was wounded right before it's immortalty, because of that it's
wound stays bleeding and he stays wracked with pain, without the beautiful
escape of cold death.
Anyway I would not like to be immortal, death is a priveledge. Just ask that
man who god cursed for spearing Jesus, he still around somewhere, i'll bet he'll
tell ya how much he's wanted to die.
Sold! And for immortality, I give you the my unquestioning service!
Though there are a lot of quelms over immortality. Such as seeing everyone you
love die and being left alone, continuously. Though, whether it be good or bad,
I have the ability to control my mind far above anyone else i know. I know it
sounds like I'm yanking my own chain, but it's true. So I could distance myself
from everyone I meet.
Another quelm people have with immortality is boredom. After a few thousand
years you're sure to have had every thrill and pleasure available to you and be
able to see the chliche's in technologically advanced versions of the same
pleasure items (please people, don't think dirty).
My answer to that is, if you've seen it all before, then make something new
yourself (by the time a thousand years passes by you probibly already will
have). In a thousand years you could have invented an FTL (Faster Than Light)
drive to travel the stars, no matter what old physics theorists said. Then you
could explore the gallaxy, and then the entire universe!
This would undoubtedly take a million (if not more) years and would keep you
busy.
After that the same problem arises and then I have an answer to that as well.
You can make a portal to a parallel universe and explore infinity! And a few
trillion years latter when you get bored of that you can create your own perfect
universe, because you will have a wealth of experience beyond anyone's
imagination and comprehension.
And finally, in your perfect universe, your dreams will come true, every day,
...wonderous....

wouldn't you get tired of living and losing all the people you love?
no immortality for me
I would have to agree with Satsugai, it would be a very sad thing to see your friends die and your knowing that u will never see them again.
although that would be pretty cool at first glance...but i think it would be very depressing if you have to live forever. imagine. the same old routine. forever. and ever. *shudders* not a very comforting thought
ditto, but at least i'll see the end of this world
I woudent take it cos it woud be stupid to be immortal forever u coudent live and grow old and die with the women u love....
I would probably get bored, grab a sword and start looking for other immortals to play with

even after the end of the world, you'll survive

Anyway, I like the immortality.

godd noo
id never wish immortality on anyone, i for one, dont wanna live to
the end of time.
It would suck to be immortal basicly you'll be lonely for the rest of your life while the love of your life passes away you wish you could have grown old with her but instead you are immortal I wouldn't want that.
If I was immortal I would help and save the unfortunate. Though it would be pointless as they would still die anyways while I still live.

I wouldn't want immortality. I don't want to stay on this hellhole any longer than I have to.

Things are so much better when you have limited time
