Heres a green-spring-themed wallpaper...but its just so plain. I cant figure out whats wrong with it. Something doesnt fit....or its missing a little something and I cant seem to fix it. Any ideas on how to make it better? The original image background is white, so I dont really want to have to extract the image because I cant tell where the girl's dress begins and ends. So that means I have to have a white background....which really sucks because it makes the walie look so plain. Well, anyways, I'll stop my rambling - feel free to give any advice you like. Just please dont be insulted if I dont follow your advice

i see what you mean. i would suggest that rather than trying to put the image in front of a bg, you brush and draw around it and over it. this also tends to create a more 3d, less artificial looking wall. hope that helps.

what i'm seeing is like a supercrowded forest/jungle around the scan... could be realistic or abstract. just the first thing that popped into my head.

I really like where the wall is going. I think the outline and shadowing around the girl needs to be more contrasted, but not too stark because the coloring is so soft. Her oufit loses out against the brightness, and the water at the bottom is hardly visible. Maybe find a deeper color in the water would bring it to life.

The left side is barren, but the flowers are nice. If you leave the petals transluscent and give the center of the flowers slightly more coloring, shading, and outlining, it shouldn't take away from the girl, but at the same time make make the whole picture flow.

Just ideas; don't really work on walls often, but keep at it cuz I really like what you have started!
