Birthday parties? My birthday is tomorrow, & I'm turning 15. I had people ask me how come you don't have parties? I say "I'm to old for parties". What age do you think birthday parties should be a thing of the past?

Birthday parties are now a tradition. There's no way to stop it...
Well, that's my opinion....

Birthday parties changes as we grow older. But we're never old to comemorate one more year.

If you think you're too old for a birthday party, then don't have one. But think of the cake and presents that you'll miss out on just for the sake of acting "mature."

ha your like me! i dont have parties either.....i kno how to party i just suck at planning them! and then they turn out boring (my 13 b-day party was a complete desaster) hence i stoped having parties

and heck i would have parties for my bday if i actually did good on planning them...your never to old to have a party! my parents still have birthday parties...i will probably have a huge 18th b-day party cus then my parents cant interfere wiht my "behavior"

I don't really think there is an age thing when it comes to that. I mean, people have a big party when they're 21, a big party when they're 40, possibly if they get to 100... with that in mind, I don't think you can really be too old for parties. But if you mean the non-alcoholic teen kind, I guess someone's too old for them when they don't find them fun anymore. So, depends on the person.

a celibration for the day of you bith never never gets old. cake and friends are a must on your birthday. and that's a party to me. and believe me 15 is no wear close for to old. my birthday was a little while ago and i had a party and i turned 17 so trust me. no worrys. and happy birthday.

my parents said that 8 years old was too old for birthday parties, so I've always looked down on anyone who had a party to celebrate their birthday after turning 8. it seemed really immature to me, because that's what I learned from my parents.

in high school though, my closest friends would throw a small party for me at lunch (sometimes they skipped class XD ) and the school band (which I was a member of) would spend the last 20 minutes of class celebrating by birthday. immature? yeah, but the band taught me to loosen up. :)

I stopped when I turned 12 or 13. I'm 14 now, but most of my friends still have parties.

Maybe your birthday partys are too complicated, you people, because here in my country I hardly know people who doesn't celebrate it in some way... Even my parents get a bit depressed if there's no "happy birthday!" saying on their day XD For youngsters, this is just a party to get presents and have fun with friends, but for people older than teenagers a birthday is a good time to gather around people who care for each. other, even if you've lost every-day-contact due to work, studies, etc.

Isn't it good to know that there's someone who's happy you were born? :)

Depends what you plan to do, and how many people to invite. If you only have a few good friends over then it isn't much of an issue, you'll all have fun and they won't care what you do.

If you plan to have a big party with lots of people, plan it well. Remeber at 15 some of your friends will be a bit older, thus at the age where to some people a party is just a way to get drunk for little money, if you aren surrounded by people who feel compelled to drink alcohol otherwise they aren't cool, then maybe you should just have a party with people you know you are comfortable with.

I was in the same spot when I was 17, my parents said I should have a party as I hadn't had on since I was 12, but I knew everyone would just want to get drunk and I knew my mum wasn't exactly just going to be cool with underage drinking (so clueless, she thought it was like a rarity) so I didn't have a party.

In my mind they are too much trouble and as the host you just get stuck looking after people who've made themselves sick, and nobody ever buys presents except your closest few friends. I have a much better time having a few friends over, going to the park to play some ball, having a barbecque/pizza dinner then playing video games and watching movies all night.

This is quite an interesting question. Hmm... for me here, sometimes I consider liking to have a big birthday party at times, but in other cases while I was continuing my post-secondary education, I would have liked to enjoy it in utter silence, and spoil myself with an all day-shopping routine along the way with a close friend of mine.

Hey, don't blame me for it, though. **Giggles** When you save some money for that little special occasion, why not just spoil yourself for a bit? Off the Internet and in real life, birthday wishes come and go for me over here, and I never really ever thought that age has any factor to deal with when and if somebody should still be attending and celebrating their birthdays for once or not. If you have a good close circle of friends to hang around with, you'll never want to pass up on such a momentous occasion. That's just what I am thinking over here.

In my opinion no one´s ever too old for a Birthday Party, it´s a celebration of the day we came to this world and that´s always a good thing to celebrate, the kind of party might change as we grow older but still it´s a party and there´s no age to stop having them

That only depends of the person, if for he is important or not.

There are different types of parties you know... Each considered for your age. But you're never too old for parties... :)

I would say 21 is about right. During college you can pull off parties until 22, but 21 is just a big deal usually.
