why do you believe what you believe? whether it's christianity, atheism (my
nonbelief), muslim(ism?), or something else. why do you believe it? did you
learn about it from someone or did you grow up with it?
personally, i'm an atheist and am comfortable in my nonbelief. i don't mock
other religions and i really enjoy talking about the tenets of various religions
(i went to catholic school for 4 years). so i'm curious as to why people believe
what they believe^.^
I guess I believe what I believe because I was baptized that way. I can stop
anytime, but I choose to believe what I do because I want to see an afterlife.
I'll admit that is seemingly pathetic, but it's my choice that I'll pay the
price for. Right now I am not devout but I try to rationalize the existence of
something superior by thinking that all the rational things we see had to come
from somewhere. Could this rationality begin from an inexplicable irrationality?
I think the observable universe had to come from an inexplicable existence (or
nonexistence for that matter) that never followed the things our universe is
limited to. I try to validate what I believe with what I observe. So long as I
mind my own beliefs and don't mess with anyone else's then I should be justified
in what I believe.
I guess I am someone who neither believes nor disbelieves any religion's
beliefs. In the past I have come in contact with a number of religions, but
there wasn't any one that made me feel comfortable. I prefer to not believe
because I want to live my life through my way and see things through my point of
view and not the religion's point of view. I did not grow up with this kind of
belief, it took a number of years to come to my current decision. Regardless of
what happens I will always continue to respect other people's beliefs and
continue to search for my final belief.
Whatever is around me is a big influence on me....I mean we have the right to
choose a religion so we take a road to either believing in a religion or not
believing in religion (no god) or neither. What ticks me off is that i always
get a knock on the door from these Johovian people telling me to join their
religion and that God will fix all your problems.....
Hmmm ? What is my belief (religion). Well, I like to believe that I am a
Christian, that I believe in the Lord Jesus who died on the cross for my sins,
whatever they be.
I also believe that the Lord would want me to explore other possibilities of
Life, be tolerant of other religions, even though I may/ may not agree w/ the
other person.
Also believe in myself, possess the faith to do right, be humble and be kind and
love unconditionally.
I admit, I have leaned toward Buddhaism because of the non-violent teachings.
Too bad, some individuals who profess to be true believers (Especially zealots)
have hijacked the integrity of the religion at large and planted the seeds of
mistrust and lies to scare the rest of the believers into blind obedience. How
sad ! The world is the Church of Life and I want to be the best person, faults
and all.

its a sad way to live but i tends to keep everything in between believing and

but it give me more room for possiblities that ppl dont see....
and thats wat make me active in wat i do---criticizing human behaviour on
ignorance and escaping....:P
i grew up with my family taking me to church, first catholic, christianity, even
Jehova's witnesses. even though i didn't want to, so the more they forced me the
more i didn't want to go, i never liked it. god may have created us but that
does not mean god wanted us alive so we can just worship him, we have to live
our own lives. you know? anyway, people mostly go to church just out of fear
from going to hell, or because they have problems. well maybe not all but
most.
btw im an Athiest, if you didn't catch that. lol

most of them have really wisdom..
but ppl instead of looking at the religion.. they look at the ppl who says they
are in that religion..
but i belive 'cause i came to the conclusion that there is something more than
this material world..
there is a spiritual world..
I'm not in any religion,but I believe in God,angels,Christ,Maria,etc.Althought I
don't believe in Hell.My grandparents are christians,but my parents are not,so I
could decide for myself,and I didn't wanted to be christian,or in another
religion.I believe in myself,in what I do,in my own values...I read a lot of
books about spiritual/religion things,and I always pic up from them those
things,which I like,in them I believe.So I believe in reincarnation,in angels
who guide you throught life,I believe that everything has some sence,that
everyone decide before life,what he want to do,to learn in next life.I believe
that God loves everyone,that he can forgive everyone,and that people should love
eachother,don't hurt eachother,forgive eachother,and they should love themselves
too.
I believe in spiritual things too,in miracles,that people actually have the
ability of telepathy,telekinesis,etc. ^_^
I think that every Religion has some bad and some good points.

1. most people believe in something bigger than themselves, like society, army,
family. at the bottom it is that when our journey called life is at an end we
like to think there something more to it than flesh rotting.
my actuall relligion came from a high mix of christian-judeo and muslim
influences and i came out the latter
and a particular dislike/hate of god feering people
Today I dreamt of one of my aquintances and in my dream I knew he'd died. Then
in the evening I asked a friend of his whether he's allright. He's allright but
his grandmother died.
I don't know what to believe in. Sometimes I believe in God, sometimes don't.
Sometimes I feel I could know many mysteries, sometimes I feel I couldn't know
any of them.
But this dream shocked me when I learnt the things about him.
