Well I see a lot of nice wallpaper and all and the is possibly the main and only goal of this website...(blah,blah) but for talentless people (myself) why not have a avatar section? I love avvies....that is like one thing that I am semi-good at that no one has helped me with...I would love to do wallpapers but I have no clue how (no help ever) oh...i'm running on again...well that was my opinion...free to bash my idea now *cringe*

Why not try learning some Photoshop tutorials from some websites which might give you some good idea how to make a wallpaer.

well I try to but my 'create some' streak *that's what I call it* comes and goes and only stays long enough to make a barely nice avatar...this was only a question i will fully understand if the answer is no...

to the staff of MT, the reason we do not have an avatar gallery is, well, simply because minitokyo is targeted mainly toward wallpaper makers. while it's true that yes, there are doujinshi, yes, there is abstract art, they are all considered one form of art. avatar, in the other hand, ranges from 200px x 200 px to 50px x 50px, in which case, MT only allows 50px x 50px. it'd be almost impossible to determine whether the art piece was ripped from a source that did not want their art distributed, and it really doesn't take very much skills at all to make your everyday avatar, unless you got technical and animated and what not.
avatar is not considered a form of art; rather, it's a graphic representation of how you want yourself to be seen on the net. it inspires almost no creativity, especially in an anime community such as this, where people just use anime characters for their avatar, leaving very small room for innovation.
the same goes with signatures too. i hope that explained it. :)

Exactly, I agree with Sammo, get over it. Avatars are so easy to make that my 6 year old brother can make one as good as any 19 year old. Well Unless it's animated but mostly it's just cut and paste. So yea, go learn some Art elements and learn the programs. We had to go through it so quit complaining.

No but I just sound like a jerk sometimes. here sit down and have some tea *pours tea*.
You can always learn how to use Photoshop, it's pretty easy if your dedicated. Also just try not to get the Mods upset because I am one at another forum... And... Err they don't like newbies or other people telling them things like this. They have good reasons why there shouldn't be such things or should.Anyways like said before making Avatar is simply too easy and doesn't require much effort or skill.

plus, most ppl dont care a lot bout their avatars, and just use some anime character image downsized to 60x60. not too creative if you ask me (no offense. i dont care much about them either, as a matter of fact i disable them whereever possible)
