If your bedroom is a gutter I think you may need to consider changing your living arrangements...
But you shouldn't take one disagreement as a sign that you aren't welcomed in the community as a whole. If you consider talk of physical love to be filthy, you should probably simply avoid sex and longterm relationship oriented topics.
