I have seen Ghost in the Shell the 1st movie and I am watching Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex right now and in episode 8 Batou said to Motoko Kusanagi "why don't you get a male prosthetic body already" what dose that mean and in episodes 4 or 5 The Major is with two females. I did not read any of the mangas so can you guys tell me what you think or know.

As for the girls...well, find an unedited Ghost in the Shell Manga and you'll find out. ^^;;; In a word, for all likely intent, Mokoto's pretty much a bi. She has a boyfriend in the manga and she does have her girlfriends as well.

Another question, you think Batou's developed "Feelings" for the Major in their long-standing friendship? For example, the fact that in the first movie everytime she comes out from her camo he covers her with his jacket. When she's in trouble he calls her by her first name, ne? He is searchign endlessly for her in Innocence

Oh it's admitted by Shirow-sensei that Batou's got some major (no pun intended. honestly) crush feelings for Makoto. I mean, work with a woman like her for long and definitely some feelings will come around.
She treats Togusa like a kid brother too sometimes, it's pretty funny to watch in GitS: SAC

actually... i've seen the movie and i've also bought the manga (pretty thick book xD) ...so i want to believe that Motoko Kusanagi is a women, because "she" makes a fine fightgirl without doubt. But also... i believe she's neither a woman or man, but a ghost/cyborg. The female body she uses is pretty much synthetic. She and Batou for example, are kind of "robots" that uses prosthetic human skins etcetera, hence the name "Ghost in the Shell" =] But of course.... i rather see Motoko as a sexy babe than a nasty dude xD hahaha.... ...besides, better up if she's a les 8D~ ahh...

Ah, point taken, but Ep. 8, it states that she was once a little girl who went the proceedure to acquire a prosthetic body at age 8. She got really quiet then. so you could see that the case hit a sensitive spot with Mokoto. It would be pretty impossible to get an image/picture of Mokoto in her human body since she probably had all such files erased a long time ago except on her personal storage drives.
Besides, in the intro you see what sort of dolls Mokoto was playing with at around age 8. What boy would play with that thing....??? ^^;;;;

Yes in the opening of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex you see her at age 6 or 8 but that is her in the prosthetic body the doll she destroys in her hand was because she was trying to play with the doll but she was not too adepted to her prosthetic body yet that is not her as a human.

well, the only way to acquire the gender of Motoko is to ask Shirow himself, or find some extremely reliable source. I mean, it would be weird as heck if Mokoto were born a male child and put into a female chassis. I mean, I think it's little clues in SAC that let you know that Mokoto was/is female such as her little tirade in Ep. 3 about why men keep female androids 'at home'. ^^
And if Battou don't know she's a girl, then we all have been fooled.

I've often thought (or mused rather) that, though the Major was born a girl, that later in life she switched to a male body type... because for a while she felt strength was better. This would have been around the time she first met Batou. After which she then switched back to a female frame, because the male didn't suit her well enough ( haveing more female traits than masculan). This in my mind explains the more buddy buddy friendship she has with her men and spacificly Batou.

No... if you have watched the first and the second season of GitS you would find out more about how Major and Section 9 comes in to play. There is a specific episode in the 2nd season where Saitou-san (the cyborg sniper) tells a story of the past. But you'll have to watch it yourself to find out more ^^ Then you can piece it off little by little how Batou is with the Major.
The Major's voice talent is Tanaka Atsuko, a female^^

Hands down she's a woman... Like it would make a difference if she was a guy... but most japanese men who want to be women are WAY more feminine that the major... the comment Batou gave her was honestly a jib at her... if you check out Innocence you'll see a protective relationship between the two... that leads me to believe that it is a woman... well that and i gotta go with the whole doll thing... and if it was a dude in a female body that it would be a focal point of part of the series

I do not want to spoil anything for anyone, but I recently saw Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG. They explain some things and go a bit back in the Major's past.
She was born a human girl.
Somewhere in the first SAC some of Motoko's co-workers mentioned her past and the way she as a little girl had sufferd to adjust to the ci-borg body.
