Has anyone else seen Appleseed???Nothing Ive seen before beats this,really.BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!

Its alright. The animation is quite differnt. Japans first full CG anime movie. XD

I thought it absolutly rocked - espically the first 7 minutes :D
Ok, so the story was nothing origonal and not a patch on GitS but that was not the point. The whole point of Appleseed 2004 was to look good and visually it was truely stunning. Also, rumor has it that is the first of a trilogy - so the tech can only get better!
I can't wait for the DVD so i can watch with 5.1!

I see it did't have such an effect as it did on me. :(((((( I thought the animation was't just good,it was breathtaking. Final Fantacy does't come near as to Appleseed,although it also was a kick ass movie. What about the soundtrack??it kinda gave the movie a feeling of "wow,this is really a great MOVIE",no?The chars were a bit different,but I liked the idea even more.In FF they were just plain slow.Come on guys,i mean,am I the only guy that thinks this is a great leap for anime?Alot of new techniques were there also.!!

It was the most incredible CG film I've seen yet! Animation and storyline rocked! Graphics were awesome! Even the background music was well thought out!
That final battle was just sugoi. I watched it like 5 times.

Hey,great to have someone on your side. I just read US critic polls. They say its "ok"....ok???Cant believe it really...somehow the storyline was dead and the monologues idiotic,so they say..waht loosers. I donno,I think I was just plain magnificent...

Didn't like the animatin on charachters like athena. duenan was so so, Hitomi was great.
It was hard getting used to briereos not having facial expressions like in the manga.
The technical cg stuff was breathtaking though.

What about the soundtrack. I have to admit at some places it was kinda out of place BUT it DID give the movie a certain "non stop action " feeling to it,no?

I'd have to say that Appleseed was the best anime movie i've ever seen. Interesting story, soundtrack that i never got annoyed with, and badass mecha.

oh yeah, and the most incredible animation ever. wow.

you're going to think this is silly, but after watching anime for so long, i was honestly surprised at the lack of 'bounce-age'. not that i'm complaining because it really was the best anime movie ever, but it's funny that i noticed #^_^#

Yep, this is really starnge but I'm getting a feel that most people who really DID watch AS liked,adored or were facinated by it. Than what the f**ck is wrong with those idiot critics????They rated it like it was some seacond-hand anime that had and i quote "average graphics display" and a boring story. Dude, the movie rocked,there were plenty of action scenes, awesome soundtrack, and good script. Learn some f**ckin Japanees you incompetent nincompoops, but STOP blaming the movie plot and diologe. What is wrong with these people, if the dubbing was bad its not the directirs or producers fault!!!Help me out here guys!!

The following is my opinion of Appleseed

Appleseed > all other anime

It looked amasing and the voices were well done (at least in my opinion)

I can't wait for the second Appleseed movie, I believe they are going to make a third as well.

I want to see it simply because it is Appleseed, but am not happy with what they did. They changed the plot. Period. That in of itself is unforgivable in most cases. However, they OH wowies!!! Make it worth the effort.


Read the manga, they did the same with GITS.

For some reason they seem to like to butcher Masamune Shirow... Wonder why.

This signature violates the signature guidelines, thus it has been removed.

I really liked appleseed. I got the limited edition of it and there is only 8,000 of those released in the us.

Limited edition? Are there any goodies in it??:) Personally I dont really give a shit about the way they changed the plot or story or anything. I haven't reany any mangas so thats probably the main reason. I can understand why fans found the movie a little uneasy to watch but here's something FOR the movie: I gave the DVD to 5 of my friends who've never watched anime in their life and think its all perverted crap and guess what: they loved it. Mostly because of the graphics but the point is they're killing me for some "Akira" and "Ninja scroll" action.....cant wait when I show them "Ghost in the Shell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :ddddd

it's an awesome movie. it has a lot of twists to it. it's a really great movie.

absolutely fecking beautiful film. i'm in the uk and it isn't out here yet, so i had to import it from japan. the subtitles are a little off but i couldn't care less. most amazing anime film i've seen to date.... can anyone compare it in terms of ghost in the shell:innocence cos i haven't seen i yet

Yeah, Ive seen Ghost in the shell 2 so her's my opinion: Its just as good in graphic display but without the kickass action of Appleseed. Marvelous scenic landscapes, city appearances are stunning. Worth to see at least for that. GITS Innocence is an encyclopidia for you tech freaks out there, alota "future cyborg" ethical problems, so if you're into phylosophy its worth a look!!!Go for it.

Its an awesome anime movie. I never read the manga but I think the anime is really great. Everything in it is really detailed. The colors are beautiful. The only thing that bothers me is the glare. It kinda makes the people looks a bit too shiny.... or maybe its just me.

Lutherniel09, you're actually right on that one. They DO look a bit "shiny" but its just that that makes Appleseed stand out from the crowd. Critics said the movement was "awkward" and didd;t counteract with the flow of the movie. bullshit. Stupid no good idiots in hollywood just don't get that that was THE VERY idea!! A radical kind of model performance that enabled Deunan make all those kickass foght scenes. It added that "something" that you can't get in original anime. Well thats my opinion anyway. Don't forget that all this is comming from a guy that never wached any serial anime, im the movie type. If you liked the "feel" of Appleseed, ( Necromanza) a similar approach is attempted in Vampire Hunter D. It has some absoulutly stunning artwork, looks like computerised but im just not sure. Its deffinatly worth a look.
