Bingo - I posted up a scan a few hours ago complaining about the same thing - You want more favs? Put up more ecchi pics. This is gonna be some crazy rant as I can tell, and I know exactly how you feel. I'm with you on this one - I find Ecchi pics. on cheap plastered walls a no-no. Why? It just does not make sense. Thanks for bringing up this valid point. You aren't the only one who thinks so as well, in general here.

Okay ryannzha - I've submitted stuff that aren't even that close to ecchi-like, and then when I post an ecchi picture. - it suddenly gets all the attention from the people - 45 views in under 50 minutes. Why? Because it bears a girl in skin performing a sexy pose - but mine is not even close to severe. Then I get low-level, ridiculously blind leeching members <with a few warnings on their belt, believe me> telling me to be quiet, just because I'm proving a point which is just so utterly obvious. To you all you bragging leechers, I know better then to obviously say - ecchi. pics get more fav. and steal the attention that good walls deserve, so you should just eat chestnuts and literally face the truth, for once. Good walls get overlooked because of too many ecchi characters on crummy walls. Are you too afraid to admit that what I'm saying is obviously so quite true, time and time again?
Anime girls bearing nothing more than mostly skin in a sexual position get all the more attention they can handle and then to see it slapped on a poorly made wall - or as you said it - walls with moons that are too bright with those horrible effects and artifacts slapped on - and bingo - insta-fav! Even with low quality walls - the wallpapers get to be shown on the main page and then the views and favs. and comments start pouring in - and I would have to say, I'm sick and tired of it, really.
This has been going on for weeks. I'm not saying this thread will influence the mods to act differently on the way MT should judge the walling system, but since its a complaint - I would love to have a fair say in this matter as well. For once, screw the bad walls with no decent quality at all. I apologize again - but aren't people missing the true art in wallpaper? Well - watch it become overlooked by many of those darn leechers again, but I'm not kidding either.
Oh yes - and I don't dislike ecchi either - it can be placed well on good walls - great scans and good backgrounds always are spectacular - but it's a shame that ecchi on low-quality walls wins you more favs. and I'm not fond of that.
And if it gets deleted because it's a terrible wall with many favs. it highly doesn't deserve - just because of ecchi pics., don't cry about it on the threads to the moderators. ROFL - Bite the dust.
And yeah Shadow - I would love to see the ecchi-lovers out there flame the heck out of this thread just because they don't find the trend of ecchis to more favs. being the truth around here. Ryan has my support too. He's one brave guy - and I acknowledge his opinion as well.

I didn't do that on purpose ¬_¬; And, I agree with Keltosh. Also, why does it really matter, people can make the walls they like and people can favorite the wallpapers they like. Is being in the top favorites really that big a deal?! And is it really that big a deal what is or isn't in the favorites?! Lets just enjoy making wallpapers and be happy that some people put effort into making something which you or someone may enjoy rather than this stupid popularity contest.

It seems that you can't force good taste onto the masses. There are too many people who would rather perv over cartoon girls than appreciate MT for the creativity that goes into it..
I don't object to ecchi, I honestly think that there's a lot of funny, cute, and even creative art out there... but there are too many people who think that ecchi is an excuse to post porn or letch at some of the more suggestable & gratuitous posed submissions :angry: And there's some really tasteless stuff on MT >=0!! but as a newbie I don't know whether there's any point in reporting old submissions. I mean, are they now deemed as acceptable as they've not been deleted already or because of the high amount of 'favs'? Or where they just over-looked the first time around? And what if it's a mod who posted something that's not work-safe?? I'm genuinely confused!! :(
As for night time scenes being more popular than daytime scenes... I guess that boils down to personal taste. I like anything that's new, original & genuinely good. That's both the dark and moody gothic stuff, the magical starry nights and the bright and up-lifting day time submissions.
Maybe if a newbie wanted a high level up rate they could post loads of gratuitous ecchi in night scenes ;)

I totally agree, but I dont think its just Hentai, its cute girls in what they think is, a suggestive position <.<. A lot of any other wallpapers just get ignored, and I dont think its fair, its not so much that people want it to be in the highlated submissions, its just that they put so much work into a wallpaper and barely anyone does so much as even look at it. I think that what some people are looking for are not just favorites, but for people to just take time to look at their work. To tell them what they think so that they can make more wallpapers that are better. I'm sorry if this offens anyone but I saw some really bad wallpapers with eechi scans and the background was just horrible. Just one color with some text, threw in some cheap clouds, placed the "cute" girl in and bam, 10 favorites.
It does come down to taste, but, I think that quality needs to come to these people's minds... we need to promote the scans more or something, because I hear that they still aren't getting the credit they deserve. But anyway, *claps for everyone* you are all brave ^_~ for speaking what you really think!!!
