IM ok with it cause its not liscenced in australia yet so i believe i still am legally allowed to download it :) and also when it is liscened here we might get some good naruto games AND HEAD bands I wanna GO TO school WITH A FORE HEAD pretector :) (i know im crazy) Plus my lil brother who loves the show but cant reead the writing will be able to understand what it mean

I have no idea why i thought that there would be anything more than people going "Oh Noes They Dubbez my Naruto!!!1" on this thread.... Maybe i thought that there would be some intellegent discussion about the dub its pros and cons and the edits that have taken place. I like Naruto, and honestly i've never seen it in anything but the dub formatting for two reasons
1. Japanese Companines get no money from fan subbers. none! so this anime that you love you aren't supporting at all. American companies are NOT going to release a product as hot as Naruto without dubbing it. Get over it when the uncut DVD's come out then you can watch it that way. Heck thats what i entend to do.
2. I love anime. I want anime to become mainstream in America! do i want it to be edited... HELL NO! i want it as fresh as the day it was born. Do i want a good dub track? Yeah would be nice. I hope everyone can agree that kicking back and watchin a good episode of Cowboy Bebop (where the sub was as good if not better than the dub) without havin to read...In all my time of being an Otaku I've never downloaded more than one or two episodes of a given series. So back on the point of Naruto from what i hear the dub is OK not great but okay... which i can deal with. and the cuts aren't nearly as bad as they thought they'd be. In fact if anyone has noticed a killer cut i'd like to know.
btw I'm not condemming Fansubbers or the people who download them. I'm saying if you do download make sure to pick up either a copy or import one from japan. that helps the people who make the stuff we all love get to keep making the stuff that we love

I loath the way that certain words/names are pronounced...I'll admit I don't have the best pronunciation of certain words but if you're going to mispronounce the main characters name, just give up...and the way they pronounced kunoichi and jutsu just made my eardrums bleed. The only reason I watch the dubbed Naruto is to laugh at it and talk to my friends who also laugh about it, after I watch the episode I always go and watch the real version to see what was edited

Did you guy see an eppi that is dubbed. It was so lame, I almost laugh crying. The name was horribly missprenounced. Plus what they did with Kakashi's voice didn't fit his personality

well licensing allows people who dont have access to downlaods to finally get introduced with better anime.. i can see how it kills with the dubbing and horrific editing, but as long as they dont hunt down the subbers, im fine.. although it does tick me off when i see a rabid fan going I AM A HUGE GUNDAM FAN AND I LOVE GUNDAM WING AND GUNDAM SEED AND BLAH BLAH BLAH I KNOW everything there IS TO KNOW about gundam!... because thats the only two series youve ever watched and now you're a gundam info specialist?

i dont care that its licenced the only thing that will upset me is if they release the dvds like dub only which is a good possibilty. The dub sucks so much, they absolutley killed it. Diff op and ed, crap voices, prononciations wrong, highly edited *sigh* dragonball all over again

I don't understand why people would be upset with Naruto being licensed. Realistically it was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm actually surprised that they took so long to license it in the first place. And why would people be upset with the dubbing? It's not like the DVD is gonna have English only. If your not a fan of the dub, then watch it in Japanese.
Sure I can see the two main reasons why people would be upset about the license.
#1. You probably wouldn't be able to get free fansubs any more.
#2. The cost to purchase the whole series on DVD would be pricy.But like I said. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Good News Everyone... After researching this i found that not only will there be a dual language disk but there will be an uncut box set released July 2006... I'm not sure how many Episodes it'll have but thats definatly welcome news!
