i think everyone should have their own point of view. since we all like the gs or gsd it is normal for u to choose which is the best. but as i read here u all seems almost fighting to each other just to push up each idol. well, it is depends to the author donya? ^_^ c'mon. i think both chara are good. peace plz i like both of them ^_^'

Athrun is really cool and I like him more as a character.^^ But Kira and the Freedom gundam is way too strong for Athrun to beat. Even if he still have Justice he still get wipe the floor off by freedom. XP

n originally Kira was slated to be killed at the end of Seed but didn't because the Kira Yamato Fan club was practically breaking down Sunrise's doors :D Also asuran was supposed to have his arm blown off in the final battle......Especially you, coordinator... you know why Kira has many weaknesses? because he is the strongest, but the writer add some minus to him, it won't be good to have a perfect character.
Kira is nearly killed, because his true strength haven't awaken yet, I just love his cool fighting style, compared to Shinn, just filled with emotions, anger and fooooooolishness. Athrun is good too, but he isn't better than Kira in piloting MS,, Athrun & Shinn had a military training, and Kira never, but he pilot his gundam naturally, that makes him the best.

you wish to be Shinn? will you be proud with copying Kira's face, blaming someone for a problem with your own childish thinkings, and get a gundam that's similar to Kira's, the worst is you ONLY TALK BIG, but small actions because you don't have strength. Embarasssing....... a PITY!!!

waaah i agree with u!! :D n coordinator, don't forget in gdm seed when they first left Orb kira could have killed asuran right before he killed Nikkoru, which shows his good/great/extreme skills :)

And of course he's not better or worse pilot. Athrun thinks, use very smart tactics. Shin is fast, he rushes and so on, but he's very good pilot ... well he's pilot of ZAFT and went through pilot training after all.
Athrun defeated Kira in GS, right? Strike vs Aegis remember? Also in the end, ep50 I guess Klueze almost defeated Kira, hmm maybe Kiras skills didn't awake then. So Kira isn't ultimate, it's not possible to be ultimate.

Yes kira cryed and cryed but you have to take into account he was a civilian forced into a war and had to fight and kill to survive, all without basic training. During wars it is not uncommon for soldiers became mentally unbalanced and went, for lack of better term, went insane. I think kira took it rather well considering he was also fighting against his people and his truly best friend. This is a lot more interesting than "random character gets dumped into a gundam cockpit and manages to just be a good soldier superhero" Shinn has done nothing spectacular, and is not a very spectacular character. He's just a normal military pilot that is very disrespectful and bratty, only really showing respect to the utmost figures of authority.

So Kira, being a SEED user, is naturally more powerful than everyone else (especially those who don't have the SEED). n don't forget, freedom is the legendary n one of the stongest ms in gsd until now

So Kira, being a SEED user, is naturally more powerful than everyone else (especially those who don't have the seed). n don't forget, freedom is the legendary n one of the stongest ms in gsd until nowI have to disagree, you talk as Kira fan ... well it's ok after all.
SEED is something like berserker right? You can't really control it, it activates in extreme situation, such as battle and so on.
It's also true that Kira is much more experienced since he was fighting in war and also in battle of Yakin Due and he luckily survived, well Athrun was lucky too, if there wasn't Cagalli he would die. Shinn is younger and very tallented, I believe he'll be much more stronger than he's now.
Of course I have to say one more thing ... you forgot about the extented... Shani, Oruga, Clot in GS, they were strong enough to face Kira and Athrun ... That's also why I was kinda surprised when Yzak killed Shani ... Clot was killed by Yzak too, if I remember it correct.
In GSD the extented are Stellar, Sting and Auel, but they don't seem to be that strong as Shani, Oruga, Clot were. And I am also wondering about Gundam which will Neo pilot ;D. I think he'll be very very strong enemy.- Apr 21, 2005

I like them both but I like more Atrhun I find him more sexie :) he is nice and he cares for Cagalli :) . Kira is more sentimental :) but I like him too the only difference between both of them is that Athruns looks better than Kira.
Gundam seed is my favorite anime right now but I also like other aniems like full metal panic fumoffu, DN Angel, full moon, sailormoon, fushigi yugi, ranma 1/2 etc. I'm a anime fan and manga fan
