no, it was an irrelevant tangent. A red herring, if you will. The security holes are still Microsoft's fault.

Moody,man!

I hate it,because it is a company that makes money out of junk, because it has the monopoly.

Normally here should be an intelligent and funny text. But I wasn't in the mood to write one.

put it this way, if macs are as popular as microsoft, there will be more secruity holes, the thing i like about microsoft is it is suitable for anyone. I think you just hate it based on the security flaws???? please everyone is allowed to make mistakes, why do you doublestand MS?

That isn't true at all. There will be more security breaches and more existing holes discovered. The holes would still be the fault of the people who made the software responsible for the hole. There is no doublestandard...Microsoft simply makes extremely buggy and insecure software and is exceedingly slow about fixing problems compared to the alternatives, I.E. Unix and Linux.

Also, I am hesitant to say that Windows is suitable for much of anything, much less "for anyone".

I am invincible!

hate it because of the business practice that they do. i understand everyone wants to make as much profit and all, but they are too extreme, they use their monopoly to kill off small company which i hate, because im a small business owner as well. those big boys are tough to deal with when you don't have much to fight back with

And so as Microsoft's people. They are far too lazy and confident that people will buy their product that they just create software which is functional but still loaded with bogus crap.

Microsoft churns out millions of copies of their software all laiden with flaws and insecurities. BUt as long as they know there are plenty of suckers out there, they neglect their duties to provide functional and secure applications and just wait for the cash to come rolling in.

And they're doing it in the wrong manner.

The least they can do is spend some of their "hard-earned" money and test everything before they let people actually use it.

That is, if they aren't too busy counting coins.

-If you buy good hardware and RTFM, you will not have too much trouble with MS.

lets see how many applications run on linux well,,,,,,,,,, welll, i dont know, i want to play cs on linux,,,,, or world of warcraft....... good luck
even with emulator n stuff, why run an emulator when u can have the real environment?
and so what u used to work for microsoft, sighhhh, got fired?
I guess my point is Linux is not very user friendly, it requires computer knowledge to use it, not like microsoft, do a poll on what is the most popular OS

actually it was an end-of-contract kind of a deal and I decided on an industry change. Software is a crappy industry to be in.

Besides, firefighting is more fun.

Among the games in that genre are ut2003 and Quake3, as well as the other quake games. Also, America's Army is available. There is a lot more games development going on in the Linux world than you know. Also, since Valve and Vivendi are splitting, odds are there may at some point be a linux port of HL2 or counterstrike, or something of that sort. Considering Valve's engine is built off Quake's engine, I can tell you for a fact that Linux ports of HL-based games are a lot more likely than you pretend. As far as non-game software, Linux has a lot of feasable alternatives for just about everything else.

Also, it is important to note that consoles will take the market for games. It is too impractical and too expensive to keep a PC up to fighting-trim in the gaming world.

and please dont forget that gaming is an industry, with the percentage of people using linux right now, it is very unlikely that the game developers will put money into developing stuff suitable for linux,
To Boris, if you hate MS because their product is not secure and undermine your ability, it would be better if you help them out rather than bitch about it, XD, dont u think so?

Not in the least. Why help the worst mass-market operating system on earth when there are better alternatives? I would sooner focus on bringing Linux to the masses than inflicting more Microsoft crap on the world.

Well I hate microsoft coz it's kinda complicated to learn. I'm using Linux. after all, I'm a hacker so I must use linux to make a virus
