I always think of looking to the authorities as a bit of a copout and it never seems to work... Mods/Admins are always VERY VERY busy people so you might have to wait for a long time for them to respond or they may never get a chance to get around to it.

I don't think that separating the whole thing into 3 categories judged by 3 different groups is fair either~ And will there be criteria for doing the art/technical critique?

And shouldn't each section of the contest have their own winner? Because if you combine all of the MT Noob drawings against, MT Artist and MT Mods ect. NO one would be able to pick a winner because each has their own character/style. And there are so many entries that it'd be just too tough. You should have them separated into the categories for sure.

I really don't get what the big deal is about prizes... I think just seeing how well you do is good enough prize and I think everyone should vote and then post in a thread with the voting WHY they voted the way they did.

And a "popular" vote is hard to do when you can only end up voting for ONE picture... So if we're only doing this in threads, we could do a tally of which works were mentioned, so it could be someone's post like this

First, I think narrowing the entries to half or lesser would be easier... It can be done by the appointed judges/authorities... Then the remaining entries will be judged by the members.

Part 2-Caption Writing is a flop! Woooo! I guess we didn't capture the imagination of the MT forum-goers or something... but it's ok, lessons learned... the Project was really *too* big; lesson learned: think small, start small... here's some pineapple juice for Anjhurin-aniki as the unofficial winner of Part 2! (hey, but I'll still write captions for the entries, k?)

Anyway, maybe what I wanted to point out in Caption Writing is that another way of participating in this virtual community is to be a caption writer, composing lines and stuff for MT Artists (doujinshi and wallpaper artists alike).

Not everyone in MT is endowed with the technical knowhow of making a 'critical comment' ... Instead of receiving the usual "Oooohs" and "Ahhhs!" and "Love it!" compliments, wouldn't it be inspiring also for the MT Artist to receive comments in the form of poetry and prose? ^^ Anyway, again it's not my original idea (hats off to DernierCri for proposing it first!).

That would be best... just like what belmikry and Ayamael hinted at, and what Terra-chan proposed (a website with PHP what-have-you)... but too much coding... and besides, we make do what we have... let's have fun! ^^

Now, I'm thinking we shouldn't worry too much about the criteria.... it would nice if people could still mention what they liked and didn't like about the entries, but looking at the huge number of entries... anyway, maybe limiting the number of entries (toru07's idea) might not be good, as it kinda ruins the fun... let's have fun, k?

yeepee i won pineapple juice XP thx a lot, i'm so glad you guys enjoyed (or not) my captions, but your work are splendid

hum about the voting system, sounds good, i think we should limit the number of threads, maybe the separate part 1-3 would be it. 9 threads will get ppl to go to the first 2 and then say "man i've got something else to do".
about the deleting some entries, yeah i'm totally against it !!!
hum just a question : about the peer artist voting. you'll have them vote separately, or will they have to state that they're artist in the normal thread. then it'd be hell to sort out who's an artist and who's not :pacman: .... wow how easy it is to find errors, but to solve is really harder. ^_^'

here are my thoughts, hope this goes well. *hands chara a wine bottle* ahah that's what we do in France (no pineapple juice eheh........ but alcohol is bad for your health)
oh btw, why can't we have 2 votes in each category?? please i can't make my mind

Well it sounds like charaz is proposing that it be an open poll, am I correct? As an open poll the options are given and people are to actually write out who they vote for and why.

As it is an open poll it should be open for allowing people who are indecisive in which one they believe is the best to have multiple answers. But we don't want someone to say "I like them all" so maybe make it 1-3 that you like in each category?

Looking at all the links is tough X.x Maybe we could have the thumbnails of the images instead? People don't want to have no idea what they're looking at before they look at it... ^_^; If it's shown without thumbs I wouldn't have the patience to go through all of the entries... If you aren't sure how to do it in a message, I'd be happy to code it for you~

And definitely not one thread, it should at least be 2 threads. *nod*nod*
