I have been seeing everywhere people are saying that Gravitation is Yaoi. Why is that? Last I checked shows like it
were Shounen-ai, not Yaoi. Yaoi is male porn. Then name itself is an acronym for "Yama nashi, Ochi nashi, Imi
nashi" or no climax, no point , no meaning.
Shounen-ai just happens to be stories about males in relationships with or in love with other males. These are
completly different types of shows. So why are show like Gravitation, Seimaden, Earthian and others labled as Yaoi over
in the U.S.?

Well, I'm american and I know the difference between yaoi and shounen ai. I loved the gravitation manga, the anime was ok too but the voices weren't that great.

well to me gravitation isn't a yaoi it may seem like it but for how many episodes i've seen i haven't yet seen it show any of yuki, shuichi, herro, or anyone elses naked body...so to some people it is but not to me ^_^

I think it's that the American companies that put out the dubbed versions of shows like Gravitation don't really know the difference between Yaoi and Shonen-ai, so they just label them all as yaoi. Then, people who are new to anime and some who aren't, but are new to shonen-ai and yaoi, pick up on it and just call anything involving romantic relationships between two guys yaoi.
Apparently I had a momentary lapse of sanity which I have yet to recover from.

Yup - not everyone can differentiate what's yaoi and shounen-ai - to some these merely means gayism >.<

i go with your answer im barrowing the episodes from my friend and it doesn't seem like a yaoi and aboutt he song i love it and it's addicting i had it stuck in my head for a hour

i have no idea what you are talking about i just love gravitation. the songs are grate and right now one of my friends have my dvd's and it seems that i might not get them back any time soon even though he has had them for a long time.

just a label they gave it, they see boy x boy its instally yaoi to everyone. Using this also drives the other audiences away who are afraid to go anywhere near it. *shrug* i dont know maybe they cant spell or pronouce shounen-ai

Yaoi is very sexual and has not much of a story line outside of sex. Shounen-ai is when the story is build with the relationships of males. Sometimes its just a strong platonic friendship and other times it runs much deeper. However Shounin-ai normally does not show the physical relations of the characters.

Gravitation os definately not yaoi, maybe people can't remember the difference between the two genres? Also the fact that it's boyxboy is probably what they want people to see, not the level to which it is taken (so people can't complain they weren't warned about the content).

hell yeah, i remember when i got my copy of "Only the Ring Finger Knows" and it had "yaoi" written all over it. It even says that it's "Yaoi, also known as boy's love"..............NOOO shounen ai is boy's love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yaoi is mainly guy on guy sex while Shounen Ai is two guys in love with each other like gravitaion.I hope that clears everything up. :)
