So, what do think about it? Do you think its bad or good? This girl in my class said," i don't like home schooling!" then this other girl told her, "then you don't need hall passes." so, what do you think about it?

I have 2 nieces that are home schooled. Frankly it looks alot better than going to school. They have more time for personl things, no preasures. Oh yeah they get home work, but it gets done at their pace and frankly they're working ahead of the districts schedual.
So to me it looks better than going to school.
Wish I was home schooled.In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

I am currently Home schooled. Have been since the fifth grade. It requires discipline. Alot. But in my opinion it is much better than public school. (At least in my area. Which isn't all that great.) The schedule for me is pretty good. I end up doing as much school as if I was in Public, but it's broken up through out the day. Hour here, 2 hours there, so on. And it makes having to skip school for things like Doctors appointment alot easier. (Not having to make up for work all at once) I also have more time for things I like to do. Oh yeah, If I keep up a good rate, I'll be done with school (excluding College) at least a year than if I was in public school.

I was home schooled for ten years from 2nd grade to 12th grade (I skipped 10th grade, because my grades were so good). It was the best thing that happened for me. By setting my personal pace, I could spend more time fixing weaknesses and turn them into my strengths. However, as Odysseus has indicated home schooling requires discipline (lots of it). I know many home schoolers who failed as this critical trait was lacking.
To make things better for my home schooling, I had the ability to be personally accountable to a satellite program for a private school. By being responsible and having personal flexibility, my schooling has given me a true love for learning. Something that has allowed me to excel with most of my college courses.

I was homeschooled until my 7th grade year when I attended a public school (I then went to a Christian school, where I currently go). I liked it, personally...you didn't have to deal with things like dress codes or being late to classes, or putting up with people you don't like (unless you have a sibling who's also homeschooled ;) ). Field trips or cool demonstrations were also a plus...but it' not all fun 'n' games. It did require a lot of self-discipline, and was sometimes lonely because all my friends where in school or had homework (but I found books, so everything worked out), not too mention there was no competition for the best grades, but still...I think it can be better in some situations.

It's kinda bad.
It promotes anti-social isn't it?
ON the other hand it can be good, especailly for those who can't concentrate in class or in crowded situation ^_^.
Anyhow that's my opinion ^_^- Apr 22, 2005

I was Home-Schooled, and this is my honest opinion;
I spent my First Year in High School, but things didn't work out. My parents then took me out, and I was Educated at Home.
It was a bit easier for me, but it was very lonely. I lost touch with a lot of Friends, and I kinda missed out on things that a kid my age shoud've been doing.
I think Home-Schooling should only be considered for the most extreme cases - which, in my case, was.
But, I think it was the best thing for me. I think it depends on the Child, y'know?.. It's hard to explain, Lol. But, yeah.

I think homeschooling is good but it's really boring. Even though it's easier, it's very boring. You only speak with your home teacher all day? Unlike on public schools, you can talk to everybody in the campus, even the ones that you don't know!!!

I did home schooling for a while and it requires a lot of will power and dedication to keep yourself motivated to do the work. Being at home there are a lot of distractions to keep you from your work, plus you don't have a teacher available to you directly that you can ask questions to if you need any help with a problem or don't quite understand something. Plus you don't get any socialisation with other people when doing home schooling, I personally wouldn't recommend it.
