I don't have a bf and I've never had one... but I think that I'd seriously feel rather embarrassed or humiliated at the thought that my boy has been staring at some chick's bare tits or whatever... The biggest problem with pornographic material in any form is that it causes a large amount of desensitization. It builds up a mindset that sex exists only for one's own pleasure, turning the act into a mere "mutual using" rather than an expression of selfless love and means of procreation; the building up of this mindset then leads to actual misuse of the act, resulting in numerous problems for the person in the long run.

From the Pr0n that I've seen, a lot is rape, or the girl is not in a dominant position, and not enjoying it for the right reasons. It would be nice to see more of the erotica- having both partners equally enjoying themselves.

To start with there is a huge difference between what you have just asked. Ecchi can just be a simple panty shot, Hentai is of of course japanese animemated porn and porn and be anything with the act of love making in it. I think everyone here watches ecchi and some time or another because anime is full of it. Some people watch Hentai for the story, some for the art and some just to get off. i cant deny that i have watched it for all three reasons. Porn on the other hand is only for getting off, all it is is just "hey, nice hat. Want to have sex?". So in short i have nothing against people watching ecchi and Hentai but porn is a little degrading to me so im not really for it. I hope that helps ^_^

I have no problem with whoever wants to watch hentai or whatever so long as they don't try and impose their personal preferences on me.
My biggest problem stems from what someone else already mentioned earlier - living that fantasy of hentai and pron (or wanting to live that fantasy) in their reality, which might not work.
With that said, I think the sense of disgust or fear possibly stems from a sense of inadequacy - that whatever thing the girl in the movie is doing is much more appealing than what she herself does with her significant other. Thus there is a worry that they aren't enough and that they need to do what the girls in the movies do to keep their attention.
There's nothing wrong with it, there's just that sense of thinking, "Is THAT what my boyfriend/husband/girlfriend/whoever wants me to do?" And if it isn't something that person is wanting to do, then there's a cause for tension.
And granted, I find it hard to separate pure lust from emotional attachment and love, but some of the more extreme hardcore porn really has a degrading feel to it, but that's a matter of personal preference. I know that at one point, I was really worried in the past that my ex boyfriend wanted to do some of the things in that movie he was watching, which I really would never do.
I guess my worry at the time was valid because a few months later, I found him having a threesome (which was something I refused to do) and then he left me.
But despite even that, as long as I don't feel that my boyfriend is using what he sees in movies as a model for life, then I have no issues with it whatsoever.
Here's a question: Do the guys get bothered if their girlfriends watch hentai and yaoi and porn on their own? And if so, why? For similar reasons? Or no?

I don't mind if someone is interested in those things as long as they don't let it get in the way of their perception of reality. That being said, I'd feel a little weird if I found someone I was dating watching anything really strange or violent.

If people want to watch it, that's their business. I don't think any GF's would be any more offended by their guy watching hentai than real porn, it's the idea of what it represents that is the problem in that regard I think. I don't look into it much as from what I've seen and heard of it alot of it crosses lines I'd prefer not be crossed.
