Why not borrow some money off a friend and get your mom something nice.. or make her a magnet?

I like to make my mother things molded from clay and baked. Like necklaces or a bracelet. Sometimes when I dont have enough time to bake all those things, I get her a $15 dollar gift certificate to some nice restaurant she likes. :)

You can make her a breakfest-in-bed! And you can ask someone to help you if you don't know how to cook.

Oh yeah! I forgot to add. I made my mother a card when I was young and she really loved that. Also, a really easy mothers day gift:

You'll need a cookie cutters, some bars of chocolate, and a microwave.
Melt the chocolate bars(stove is best, the microwave sort of burns the edges) and then put all the cookie cutters onto an aluminum sheet. Make sure the cookie cutters have even bottoms. :} Pour the chocolate so that it makes about 1/3 of an inch in height into the cookie cutters. Put it in your freezer. Come back about an hour later. You can pop the chocolate right out of the cookie cutters in cute shapes. I used hearts. And then I bought like a $2 tube of frosting and wrote "mom" or "i luv u" or some ridiculously gooshy things like that on it. She loved it. :}
You can use melted candy if she doesnt like chocolate.

Well I got my mum a Japanese set =D like with the chopsticks, bowls, sushi making things o.O and other stuff XD
Ideas.. Umm You could give your mum one of those water features you can have in the house? Or maybe cooking stuff like frying pans and stuff XD jewelery!!! =D or make something.. Ok I'm out of ideas now -.-"

I used to go out when I was younger and gather flowers, then make a little bouquet. My neighbor's flowerbeds were always bare around Mother's Day... <_< >_> .. regardless, it's a pretty timeless gift, so you might want to consider that.

Other things... make a card, draw a picture, write a poem, frame a nice picture of the two of you, if you're good at makeup, give her a free makeover for the day... channel your abilities and creativity and you can easily figure something out.

Hmm... I was never a big one for Mother's Day, but I guess I'd get her some carnations. They're not very expensive.

Brownie the Cat

hmm...maybe flower, but definitely not carnation, as it is corny..no offence

Some perfume is always a classic.
There's some really nice scents out recently; maybe you can grab a few samples and decide which one you mum would like.
I was planning to buy my mum a white gold chain @_@ Though on a second thought she would possibly beat me to death for not giving her the usual red roses she wants every year.

Well there's always the option of taking your mum out to watch a romance comedy at the movies or something... that shouldn't be too expensive ^^ Or you can give her a book voucher or a voucher for a hairdressers or something... that's always nice ^^

I kind of gave up on creative gifts and thinking of something specific.
I just give her some flowers, works like a charm and are appreciated like any other gift.

For me..present is not the best thing I can give to my mother... well a present can never be the same as the love and care your mother have gave to you.
So I suppose the best thing to give her is your loyalty, your respect, your love, your care and the most important thing is to make her dreams on you come true .....

I 'll give her cook books 'cause she liked it but she didn't have free time 2 go out.

A card is nice. Taking her out to lunch is nice too. ...Provided you have enough to do so without it being a burden. ...Otherwise you'll probably wig her out. ...Phone calls, and well, as someone else said, *cookies*.
