it's now in 3D, and it seems that Ubisoft had taken over 3DO/NWC ... o_O
I'm a forever fan of Heroes series,... and I'm really looking forward to this title.. I hope they release it
soon... (hotseat mode is the best!!!)
some of the confirmed features:
Creatures and Towns
the numer of creatures in the initial game will be less than 130 but close to the base number in HOMM3; an expansion
will add more.
there will be six towns;
demons and the undead might form separate factions again;
unit stacks, dragons, and unit upgrades will be back;
towns will seem more "alive" than before;
The Engine & Development
the game will use a 3D engine
the system requirements will remain low, and offer some scalability;
the game will lean more towards strategy than RPG
a simultaneous turn system is considered, but only as a means to speed up the early parts of the game;
the multiplayer mode will focus on Internet play, but hotseat will be included;
there will be a demo;
there will be a beta (Summer 2005);
more screenshots are coming out at E3 (May 17 - 20)
Gameplay
there will be a unique storyline for the single-player campaigns;
the story style will be the faction switching / linked storyline style;
a combat-grid resembling the one in H3 will be implemented;
lots of changes/improvements in the combat-phase of the game;
heroes will probably not participate in combat as in H4, but they'll be more involved than in H3;
diplomacy will not be a major key in the game, but creating alliances during missions will be possible;
Ooooo... can't wait~!!! XD
