Hi! i was just wondering out of curiosity, do you think that it is possible to hate a person online, without ever meeting them? I can't say for sure, because sometimes people fake their personaltiy online, so i can't really tell.........but tell me what you think.
ps. If someone already did this thread, i'm sorry, but i checked over 5 times to make sure with the serch tool, and i couldn't find any threads like this one.

It is entirely possible to become pissed off at people on-line. It basically what they say that really ticks you off. What is really agravating is the fact that some poeple actually do this type of thing just for fun.

hmm... I never really hated anyone either offline or online. but there are quite some ppl online that just really annoys me =/
Everyone should try to be honest in everything they do but we all know that isn't the case, maybe people online put on a face maybe they don't we can't really know unless we know them outside of the net, but hopefully the person online we talk to everyday is that person offline and u have met a really cool person. I just know forsure about myself and i try to put the right foot forward at all times but i am not perfect and make mistakes hahhah.
i guess it can be easy to hate a person before meeting them but try getting to know the person maybe there is a good reason y the person is the way they are.

In response to your question, no... ...I can't say as I have. I think there may be those who hate me. A couple come to mind... ...But I try not to reciprocate. ...Life is too short to waste it hating people.

I've disliked people online, but I don't really hate them. If I don't know them personally, I don't really have a solid foundation to hate them. Most of them are probably just angry, depressive losers anyway so I shouldn't waste my time, let alone hate, on them.

I think to be hated on line can be possible, I know a lot of people that only meet people to say bad words each others. But I don't hate anybody nor In real life neither on line.
well it always be possible to happen............but so far.....none........
everybody that I met online are nice people ..........so who knows
people are 100% different online sometimes. some people get this giant ego while others think they're invincible.

Yes, those big talkers who lurk behind the scenes. They act all tough, but believe me, when you notice that they are actually snotty 15-year old pimplish nerds who like to make everyone's life a living nightmare, believe me, sparks will be flying everywhere.
And yes, it is indeed possible for you to get angry with somebody else on the net without ever having the chance to meet them - like entirely. There will always be people you hate for their personalities, and people you hate who act full of ego at certain times. It happens. Don't tell me it never happened to you before? I'm sure a lot of people have experienced it one time in their lives. Even in real life, it is bound to happen.
Sometimes, people read other individuals and give them quite the wrong impression. That's why it is best to be around those who are more important to you, and forget the rest who discourages you from time to time.
Like the book in Dr. Seuss, a nice little quote can be made, because those who mind about you don't matter, and those who matter to you the most, don't mind.
Hope that quote logically makes sense towards some people over here.

Those are some good points- you may dislike someone online but they might have a reason for being the way they are... personally I've never hated anyone online- there have been people i didn't like but i think it's all a question of attitude- just like in real life, there are people you get along with and those you don't... i just try to stay away from the people i don't ^^; ...but there's very few of those on MT, everyone's really nice ;)

I really hated someone online. Because she wrote mean things to me and about me. I don't even know why. All I know was she had a really bad impression of me even if at the beginning we seem to get along.
The odd thing is that I have never hated someone before.

No, I haven't hated anyone. And for the most part, I find annoying people amusing more than anything else really. Thinking about it now, I got hate-mail once concerning a group I was affiliated with. That was hillarious! I, and other members of said group, got a laugh out of that one. But we didn't retaliate... or at least, not in a vengeful and demeaning manner.
I try being nice though... but it's really hard when people are being stupid and close-minded. It depends a lot on the topic and my feelings towards it and what has been said. I'm not stupid in the way I approach such individuals - regardless of how they may see it.
Personally, I don't care if people don't like me - they can hate me all they want - but hatred changes little to nothing of how a person behaves online. So, I don't really see the point.

I don't think i'll ever meet such an annoying person that i will start to hate him/her/it. At least not so many times that annoyingness turns to haterelationship. And if don't know the hated person it's really waste of time.... unless being angry makes you happy

that's odd, cuz it's so easy just to block someone... why would you let them get to the "hateable" stage if you could've just blocked them while they were in the annoying stage

I do not see any point in holding a grudge against someone online, especially in the cases which you don't even know the person physically. How can one assume someone else's personality through words without seeing how they convey even their body language or tone of voice? Online is just words, and of course, bad words or conversations could be exchanged between 2 people, but still, that doesn't mean that the person on the other side is completely that way...maybe they had a bad day, who knows? I, for one, have not hated anyone online, and I'm not going to start now.

Hating someone is a serious hazard to your health. So, my answer is no. I just never let anyone or anything get to me.
If you believe everything you read, you better not read.
