I know it's a traditional question! but I always would like to see which FF is the most popular!
my favorite final fanatsy is "FFVII" even though my first Final fantasy I ever played was FFVIII.

To answer, my fav is FF VII : but FF VI and FF IX aren't so far from ff VII quality.

ffvii is great but ffviii is the first one i played and i just love it
