well... recently, the web filtering service of my internet service provider had deemed MT a restricted site due to
"pornographic" content, thanks to those parents who reported MT as a pornographic site... those parents really
irritate me... they make a big fuss over scenes of gunfights on the television, tried to stop kiddy grade from airing as
they considered it pornographic... tried to ban WWE as they find it is too violent.. etc..
wat r ur views on tis case on MT n the parents?

I must admit that there are certain scans that are quite borderline between simple ecchiness and downright pornography. But, if they are allowed, then the gallery directors did not deem such scans as "pornographic" since it is explicitly against the rules.
But parents have a very legitimate concern. Even if a scan does not show explicit content, the massive cleavages, panty shots, and suggestive poses certainly are not for little kids to see. And since there isn't a "too ecchi for a 5 year old" reporting option, the only thing they can use is the pornographic content check box.
Though many webfilters have the ability for the enduser to custom set what to filter out, so if MT is blocked, you can set a bypass for minitokyo.net

Parents are totally right, I have seen some scans that are pretty far from the concept that MT really is. I'd say you should have a better control over the images that come in to MT. And as EternalParadox says, even if it's not so as obvious pornography, some scans show some pretty suggestive material.
But one might say: "You're old enough to not click there..." Yes, but kids around 12 also watch this site, as far as I'm concerned, and it wouldn't be very nice for them to see such graphics.

i think mt should put those almost porno pix in a separate gallery, and the "recent pix" thingie in our right side shouldn't show the pix that are in that gallery either, cuz some of us gurls find those annoying...

Recent submissions should be filtered so that young members do not see the more explicit content. May be you can send in a support inquiry or start a suggestions thread to let the gallery directors know.

Just becuase you have nothing against seeing panties does not mean that parent don't have a right to be concerned with the content that their children see on the internet. And yes, many young children have never seen someone else's panties, despite what you'd think. I fully support the parents on this issue. It is important to have a safeguard for children, and thus I also advocate kawaiish's suggestion.

But the parents have all the right to decide what level of content their children can see.

There are a couple of scans here that are pretty ecchi to the extreme. Then again there are like millions of submissions to the gallary that it is highly unlikeley that you would find all of them. There are recent ones yeah sure but that really doesn't justify calling Mt a pornograpihc site. There are tons of other things here that make it family friendly well except for the occasional perverted thread that is created.

Anime is like 80% ecchi. I've spoken with a lot of people about it and we basically agreed that anime is pretty much an acceptable way of softcore porn. Watching softporn is a no-no, but watching anime is ok. That's why anime is called "cartoons for older kids".

It is only natural for parents to consider some anime communities/websites to be inappropiate for little children. They really uses a lot of suggestive poses. They zoom in on panties a lot too. There are a number of scans on MT that have girls with nothing but panties on and also pointing their fingure at certain areas of their body. It is such suggestive connotations that really take the ecchiness to the extreme. I'm sure if all of you have kids you wouldn't want your 5 year old to look at a girl pointing at her crotch and licking her fingures and has that "come and get me" look, real life or not. That's the stuff parents are concerned with and I totally agree with them.

i say its like this....a girl in swim suit is in a pose...in real life it whould be for the parents=40%procent dude or somthing

I sometime wonder parents trying to be overprotective. If some parents consider MT pornographic then what about Hollywood putting out realistice and violent films for children to watch. pg-17? How many theaters enforce that rule?
But then again, if parents set the rule then you have to obey while you live in the house or you move out when you're old enough.

I think MT does need to change its policy for scans. SOme of teh scans are right on the line of pornography. I have no idea why they are there. I don't think everyone will ever use them for walls and such.
However, the parents are being too protective. If they would just spend some time with their children, they won't need to be worrying about their children turning bad. (I do agree that WWE is too violent and stupid, and it should be banned)
