This is a guide of what you should and should not do, when reporting a gallery item and/or forum piece.

Do's for reporting ripped wallpapers/doujinshi artwork:
-Do post the original link to the artwork. Don't just call it a rip without showing your proof. This should be obvious, but you'd be surprised.
-Do post that it is a rip. Just leaving a link (or even blank) will make reports go slower and not handled in time.
-Do post a full reason of why it needs to be deleted. Just saying "bad quality" doesn't help. What's bad about it? Artifacts? Low resolution? Blurry? Be more specific.
-Do post as many rips as possible. This goes without saying, even if it's a friend of yours, ripping here on MT is against the rules, and members who do not abide will be punished.

Don'ts for reporting wallpapers/doujinshi artwork:
-Don't leave the reason blank. As said before, this just makes it harder for us.
-Don't report something because you 'think' it's a rip. This can lead to unwanted controversy between members and have artwork deleted that might not be a rip. Make sure you've checked your sources and leave a link in the reason.
-Don't report something because you don't like a member. If you have a grudge with another member, see a moderator. Do not report their work (which may not even be rips) just to 'get back at them.'

Do's for reporting scans:
-Do post the original scan that it was duplicated from. Dup scans are very common, so you need to include the link to the original scan.
-Do post a full reason of why it needs to be deleted. Just saying "bad quality" doesn't help. What's bad about it? Artifacts? Low resolution? Blurry? Be more specific.

-Don'ts for reporting scans:
-Don't leave the reason blank. This goes without saying.
-Don't leave vague reasons. Leaving little to nothing in a reason hurts the time in which we can take care of your report.

Do's for reporting forum threads/replies:
-Do post the original link of the duplicate thead. Saying it is a 'Dup Thread' without showing the original helps us in no way.
-Do remember the rules about time frames. This one a lot of people didn't know, especially those who think they know the rules, and post arrogently that there's already one of these threads: if a thread is older than four weeks it IS ok for a 'Dup Thread' to be posted.
-Do post a full reason. If a thread/reply is offensive, or out-of-context, or anything, post that. It will help us figure out what to do with your report faster.

Don'ts for reporting threads/replies:
-Don't report guestbook entries that are not offense. I had one where a member had "Thanx" in the description for reporting it. Just don't do this, unless the g-book entry is offensive.
-Don't report "Thanks" in Welcome threads. I had another one where a member had "Thanks for nice replies" while reporting a welcome thread. Just...no.

Do's for reporting nudity/hentai:
-Do report full-frontal nudity. If you can see full skin (I.E.- Nipples, un-clothed crotch) report it. This is considered nudity/mature.

Don'ts for reporting nudity/hentai:
-Don't report skin-tight. If the character has clothes on, this is not nudity. There needs to be detailed skin showing for it to be nudity.
-Don't report it if you find it offensive. If you find it offensive because the woman has big breasts that are unrealistic and are bulging out of her rubberband-sized tube top, don't report it. It needs to have some type of nudity showing.

Please keep these in mind when reporting items on MT.

Thank you and have a great stay at Minitokyo.

Thank you for the info, is that why sometimes it takes gallery directors so long to take my report? so, if it's a rip, we post a link to the site?

Very informative.. not just for reporting .. also gives an idea about dos and donts when you upload a scan or artwork... especially the part about the nudity.

Quik Question.. If someone gets a report and the artwork seem to be riped ... is there some kind of punishment for the autor of the artwork?

hahaha so funny
im thinking they may have confused 'report' for 'reply'

Yea they get a warning for each rip that gets discovered from their gallery. Once they reach 3 warnings they're banned.

Post a link directly to where it was ripped from.

what do you guys think about the favorites and vs threads in the forums
according to the forum rules, it is somewhat forbidden, I tend to read the actual thread and then decide whether to report it or not. However, if it already has a lively discussion, i would let it stay,
what are your guys take on these threads

i agree with you on that... if it's between two characters and doesn't really have that many posts then i usually report it. however, if it's been around for awhile (ie: has lots of posts) i usually leave it alone...

i had a question... if a member creates a thread with a pretty big spoiler in the thread title, and after you told them that they might want to change said title, they completely ignored your post... would that be worthy of a report?

I'm all washed up. . .

Usually, I would give the motivation first, then state the reason why afterwards. It's kind of an organized way to report items. :)

- Duplicate thread/gallery item: user created a duplicate of another thread or submitted a duplicate of another gallery which should include a link if the link is not posted in the thread/gallery item
- Double thread/gallery item: user created an extra thread or submitted a gallery item when only one creation was intended
- Double post: user made the same post twice
- Offensive post/thread: user made a post or created a thread with regards to another member, and the contents are disrespectful or insincere
- Other violations of the forum guidelines: these should be self explanatory
- Rip of ... : I think it would be best if the URL of the gallery item goes there, but it could be a rip of a certain member or from a website if time doesn't permit and someone wants to get the rip out of the way
- Simplistic: this could pertain to the background, the quality of work that is done to develop the background, and there are several different motivations that could prompt removal, such as background is too plain, background is a single pattern, and so on
- Lack of effort: this could pertain to scan work and background work, especially the dirty scans that need cleaning and better extraction and backgrounds that are overly simplistic
- Bad quality: this could pertain to the amount of dirtiness a wallpaper or scan has, such as too much graininess or pixelation

The reasons in italic should be backed with an explanation as to why it falls under that category. I find the notes above the most helpful motivations and explanations. ;)

i've a quick question. are you allowed to have multiple consecutive posts in a thread? say, oh about 16 in all by the same member? it starts in the Harry Potter- Half Blood Prince thread in the spam lounge. i'm quite aware that it's in the spam lounge but isn't this a bit too excessive even for the spam lounge?

feel free to pm and reprimand me if you feel that i've stepped out of bounds.
