This is a saiyuki fan in great need of some help. I want to start a colletion of saiyuki,
but I don't know what to collet the anime or the manga. And if the anime which series should I collet Gensomaden or Reload. Post me........

Reload is the second series....don't get that first or you will be incredibly confused!!!!
I'd recommend getting the manga first - the story progresses faster than in the anime and there are quite a few character points that are missed in the anime.

Honestly speaking, I was extremely disappointed in Reload and Gunlock, because it lacked all the necessary plots in the original Saiyuki-- such as Nataku.

I fyou've never watched Gensoumaden Saiyuki before.... watch that first, if you watch Reload first, you're gonna be a hell of a lot confused with the story.

I suggest you to collect the anime for Gensoumaden Saiyuki, and the manga for Reload and Gunlock.... but the anime isn't bad either.

i agree with the others you should collect Gensoumaden Saiyuki before you get gunlock. I did and that's how I got hooked. ^_-

OK, I'll give you some quide about Saiyuki^-^. Well, 1st of all, Saiyuki have 3 series: Gensomaden Saiyuki, Saiyuki RELOAD, & RELOAD Gunlock. Gensomaden Saiyuki can just be called as Saiyuki. If you want to collect VCDs, I suggest you collect the Gensomaden Saiyuki at first. If you buy Saiyuki RELOAD/RELOAD Gunlock first, you won't know the story well,, you can also buy the manga. But I think the manga have the same story like the anime. Just get in this:
Gensomaden Saiyuki-published in 2001~50 episodes(am I correct? I allready forgot)
Saiyuki RELOAD-publshed in 2003~25 episodes
Saiyuki RELOAD Gunlock-published in 2004~26 episodes
The serious problem is: In Saiyuki RELOAD Gunlock, the story hasn't finished because they haven't reach to the end of the journey. I heard that there is 1 more Saiyuki series: Saiyuki Gaiden. I haven't know about it. Well, I think that's all I can tell you,,^-^ Sorry if you don't understand,,

get gensomaden... I watched Reload first and I was real confused at the first episode of it and I kept asking "Who the heck are these guys and what do they do?" you better get Gensomaden although they look much cuter in Gunlock and Reload (especially Goku) *faints* ^_^

does anyone know if there is saiyuki gaiden has a series of its own? i mean like in dvd or vcd form?
