I was looking for Get Backers Pics the other day and I came across a live note book thing and People were talking about if they like Yaoi or not. And I was just wondering there are a lot of mixed feelings about it so I just wanted to no what you guys think. I personaly LOVE it and I can't really say why my mother asked me why I like it so much and I just said."Well why do guys like to girls so much it's the same thing in a way?"So I can't really say why I like it I just do. I wont hate you if you don't so don't hate me cuz I do.

I don't like viewing any sort of explicit behavior (as in I don't like to watch other people real or fictional have intercourse), but I find the personal interactions in shonen ai just as appealing as those in other sorts of anime. Loveless is one of my absolute favorite animes....

Well I've never heard of it but I know what you mean. This boy at school makes fun of me because I like anime and Final Fantasy. -_- It makes me cry sometimes because why should I be picked on for what I personally like. Anyway, I feel much better talking about it now :)

I'm with wolfco in regards to explicit material. If it's what floats your boat, you're welcome to it, just don't expect me to like it. ^_^'

As for otherwise non-explicit yaoi/shounen ai, I'm okay with it most of the time. Indeed, the romantic tensions are just as much fun (and sometimes even more!) as with straight relationships, but I think some of the fan pairings just get a little... well... WEIRD!!! o_0

Now, Fake and Gravitation are great fun, and I can buy many of the more popular fan pairings such as Kurama-Hiei (YYH) or Heero-Duo (GW), but some just seem, well, eewww.. XP. The more bizzarre examples I can think off the top of my head include Sesshoumaru-Naraku (IY), Wufei-Trieze (gw), and (in non-anime) Potter-Malfoy or Potter-Snape (those just seem WAY wrong to me! ^_^').

i also find I'm more open to couplings where the subjects at least appear to be close together in age. Adult-adult... all good. Teen-teen... way cool. Adult-teen... nowwaitaminnit! That's probably why I've never completly warmed up to the idea of a Ed-Roy pairing (Now if Ed were just a few years older... ;))

At any rate, if anyone does like these and other unusual pairings, I'm still cool... :)

Well, at first I simply hated all that yaoi and yuri stuff, but I've been learning more about tolerance, so now I don't really care. My opinion is that yaoi and yuri are against the nature.

I love yaoi and yuri both, I'm very fronted with what I like... if you don't like it, wll than too bad, why watch it? As do other people who just hate it and think that it is the most wrong thing in the world, well they don't even know anything at all between them (striaght people) and others. (gay, lesbian, or bi)

I find it stupid to ridicule people for their decisions on who they like. Who cares if it is from the same gender or not, it's their decisions not your's...

I myself am straight and I have a boyfriend... He doesn't care of you're straight or not, he will still be friends with you... Just because you may like someone from the same gender or two people from the opposite and the same gender, doesn't give you the right to make fun of them or hate them and then have everyone around you hate them and make fun of them.. That just gets me so irratated when people do that...

So if you have a problem with people liking the same gender or both genders, well I just say that you should just mind your own business and stay out of their lives until you realize how much a disrespectful person you are to them and how you treat them and the friends they are with...

I support the fact of people expressing their love and whichever way they choose to, I don't like it when people get made fun of for that, I find that very rude... Well this is pretty much all that I have to say for this, sorry it was so long and such, but I was trying to prove my point and let you know how much I support them lol.. Well I guess I leave some room for other people to type and rant about their opinions on this topic XD ok, well See Ya!

I don't really have a problem with it. However I do know that in some of the message boards i've been to, if someone asked where to find the Loveless anime or asked about it, they would be met with disgust and "unkind" words by others on the board for even mentioning it.

Hm, I personally have a distaste in bishonen (pretty guys). So yaoi kinda turns me off. I also avoided shonen ai for similar reason. But I got frens and relatives that watch/read those stuff and I am fine wif it. I did try to read a yaoi manga once.....not a very good experience for me..lol..

I'd like to know that as well. Since when is it a crime to disagree with something like Yaoi\Shounen Ai? No matter how he phrased it, an opinion was made.

Why are we getting into the whole homosexual debate here? Everyone knows the main reason why both of these exist is to please rabid fangirls, not as some sort of homosexual advocacy material.

Well...If you took the time to really either read it or watch it..You would know that it wasn't just for fangirls as you put it...It is for love. No matter what sex people choose...it is love...weather you or anybody else accepts it...And it really gets me mad that most people who don't like don't even give it a chance...Talk about judgemental!!!! I mean god! You probably saw some porno about it...Not to be rude or anything..but even i think that's gross! You probably never even gave it a chance...Love is love...there is nothing you can do or say about to change it...So..the quicker you get over that fact, the quicker you can live happier!

As a straight guy Yaoi and Shonen-Ai don't appeal to me. But if I watched a really brilliant anime and it has some Shonen-Ai in it, it doesn't make me hate the anime. This is just something I have to respect and it doesn't make the anime any worse.
btw I don't mind the fact that other people like Yaoi and Shonen-Ai.

i don't see what's so wrong with yaoi especially =/ personally i love it and i find nothing wrong with it. i even like yuri and i'm a girl.... and straight. i watch it and even read it. but then again, maybe i'm just too exposed on both yaoi and yuri to not not tolerate it at the least *shrugs*
