Of course the fourth hokage is stronger than Orochimaru. The $th could easily kick Orochimaru butt if he was still alive.

Yondaime aka 4th hokage is no doubt stronger than orochimaru lol i mean hes even stronger than jiraya and itachi which are stronger than orochimaru. In my openion 4th hokage is not only the strongest hokage but also the strongest in naruto, i mean proly all the hokages are stronger than orochimaru not sure.

Hm, in my opinion it is probably hard to determine, mainly because in Naruto series, it seems who is stronger than who is largely determined by the skills that they have. Like person A maybe more powerful than person B, but due to some skill disadvantage, person C, who cannot defeat person B, easily defeat person A.
a > B and B>C, but c>a... kinda...
So, since we haven really seen 4th Hokage skills in the anime (besides Rasengan and the Death Seal(?) (the one 3rd Hokage used)), it is probably hard to determine whether his skills can defeat Orochimaru).
Anyhow, in Naruto, sometimes the level of strength of ninja can be quite inconsistent... sometimes the genin can be more powerful than the jounin, but when certain plot event haven, they are weaker than even the chounins.....sigh... I always try to ignore these kinda of plot holes anyway, it is a norm in quite a few anime series oredi...
