Target audience for the series "He Is My Master"?

The serie "He is My Master" is slightly ecchi, very humorous, involves a human-like crocodile and an evil otaku master who makes these two 14-year-old-girls indebted to him work as his maids. (for more info, a previous thread about the series can be found here: http://forum.minitokyo.net/showthread/19176/ )

I have watched just a couple of eps of this, slightly freaky, serie. Now, the big question which has arisen in my mind is this: who is the target audience for this? o_0

Children? -hardly, as there is so much ecchi content.
Adults? -hardly, why would they watch it?

Girls? -hardly, as the girls are treated pretty unfairly in the series.
Horny teenage boys? -hardly, as the girls of the series are ~14 years old

Perverted old otakus? -hardly, as they have free access to H stuff and a "perv old otaku man"-reputation already. :P

So, to whom is this kind of a series meant for? And is it popular in Japan? Are there more series for such an audience, e.g. is this already some kind of a genre or is HiMM first only of its kind?

Hm, according to the manga itself, the genre is self-classified as comedy/gag manga with slight ecchiness.. They are not really downright ecchi, more suggestiveness and cosplay fetish, i think.

Target audience are probably most ppl who also watch "harem" anime (where usually have one guy and many girls in his life, mostly revolving ard romantic comedy situations, usually tinged with a fair amount of ecchiness). The cosplays of the girls probably also will draw more ppl, as cosplaying characters (maid custome, school uniform, etc) are pretty popular in any otaku culture, be it in Japan or elsewhere. The "cutesy"/moe look also draw more of the same crowd..
In short, target audience probably very diverse....though most probably male.

Well, sometimes it is hard to pinpoint the exact target audience and Japan sometimes just make anime for strange audience, if u ask me...

Example, Narutaru is a children/kids show...if any of you have watched this anime.....i really want to know what the children are supposed to know at their age in Japan...It is one of the darker anime that I have watched. If elfen lied is dark, this is slightly lighter cuz it has significantly less gore and blood, though the theme is probably as dark...

So, sometimes it is just good to watch what one like and wonder not what is the intended audience... cuz it often make no sense......

Err... hope that answers ur qn abit.... sorry for the digression

1. There are lots of horny guys that age.
2. Its anime, few care about age.

I would guess the target audience is males age 14 - 18 (Or maybe a little more.)

actually, i saw a few eps of this serie and then i quitted, cos i think the story is stupid, the plot doesnt even seem right.

Are there any females watching the series? If so, please raise your hand or something.

Or is this serie really males only?

The target audience would be anybody who is looking for something fun that could take the preocupations away. After all it is a comedy, isn't it? It is only trying to make us laugh and have a good time.
Personally I think He Is My Master is fun and that is all. It hasn't to be taken like a just-perverts anime/manga. Laughing is good for soul, you see.

Well, that's my humble position. There's nothing written about likes.

I watched a few episodes and didn't think it was funny at all. But the guys in the video room were outright laughing. Based on that really unrealistic unrepresentative sample, I would say the target audience is male ages 14- early twenties. Ones who like girls in maid uniforms being chased by a perverted alligator thing.

and wow- i didnt know Narutaru is a kids show. I thought it was disturbing myself. :x

It has a few funny moments but in general I found it a quite boring series, something I watched when I really had nothing better to do.
On on the Naruto part: I feel it's a mixture of a show for kids and older, have yet to find something really disturbing myself. Could also be the fact that I saw a lot series that I found darker.

I was actually talking about Narutaru ( not Naruto ). Ohya, don't let the opening song fool u..it is grossly misleading. Watch until abt 4-5 eps...then u will get y I find it strange tat this kind of show is for kids...

EDIT : just watched "He is my Master" anime till the end. It was, overall, quite ok and relatively nice for a comedy/ecchi series... at least for me. As for me, I'll just wait for the manga to end also... still ongoing and has quite significant difference in terms of plot and the order of events.

i had to admit it was funny in some part, but the series as a whole really wasn't that great. a word of advice to those who haven't seen it, you can pass this one. not worth watching.

I'm a female adult, and I very much enjoyed this anime.
I have to agree with it being mainly aimed at teenage boys though. But, I still adored it. Heck, who wouldn't want a maids their own age? Eh?

I'm also pretty sure Mitsuki is ony 12 or 13. Not 14 as specified above. Izumi always calls her 'YOUNGER' sister. So they can't be the same age. Ah it's so cute how she tries to protect her. Even though Mitsuki is a little devil!

xD Who wouldn't love a alligator who loves porn anyway? Haha..

I saw a couple episodes of this then got bored, but in the first ep it seemed very much like the alligator had sex with Izumi, at least the following dialogue strongly indicated he did. I saw that the two manga authors depict themselves as a hamster (the female) and an alligator (the male/husband?), so having a sex mad alligator attacking the 14yo maid seemed to tell us all we needed to know IMHO... ;)

Yup, Mitsuki is 13 it tells us that near the beginning of ep.1.

Is Yoshitaka a similar age? He seems a little older 15/16 maybe?

art. it is very pretty-ok I cant keep a straight face-horny teenage boys

Garra garra garra.
It's target audience is perverted alligators.
