I borrow $50 from person A and $50 from person B . Then i got $100 .
I buy a t-shirt , it was $97 . I give the casher $100 and the casher pay me back $3 .
I pay back $1 to person A , $1 to person B and i keep the another $1 .
So i debt person A $49 and debt person B $49 .
My question is , $49 +$49= $98 , then add the $1 was i keep is $99 .
Why is $99 but not $100 ???
Where is another $1 ?

Well, the question is wrong in its phrasing.
It is basically a trick question.
The t-shirt and the money you have left equals the debt.
If you return 2 dollars to the people you borrowed from, the debt and the leftover will both decrease by 2.
$49+$49=$98
$97 (t-shirt) + $1=$98nothing is missing.

Yup, Rain Of Stars is right. 97 is not an even number. You don't owe 49 and 49, but 49 and 48. Simply, owe 49 to the one you like the least and you're done.

what point does adding their debt make,
before when you had 3 bucks they both owed you 50
so that'd be a $103, so by adding their debt you were wrongo_O-0

I believe RainofStars is correct and is now worthy of a cookie. The cookie will not be given but it is deserved none-the-less.

49$+49$=98$
the 1$ you keep was inside the 98$.
-no need add 1 more 1$
-Because you did't return 1$ that you keep .
-That 98$ was you dept A and B not you keep .
-add 2$ you pay back for A and B =100$
=so nothing less=

If u didn't keep the money for u'rself u can pay u'r debt $1.5 for each people. But in fact u just give them$1 each.
So u give less $0.5 to A and $0.5 to B.If u add $49+$49=$98 + $1 (u hav)=$99 +$0.5+$0.5
so the total $100- Sep 02, 2005
