Hentai is simply another genre of anime. Same as mecha, ecchi, magical girl, etc... The only difference is that's it's geared towards an older audience. Some is just there straight for the pornographics value, while other hentai actually have some pretty cool stories, and you actually find yourself skipping all of the tentacles and getting to plot. I mean, it's certainly not for everyone, and definitely not for children, but it does have some value for anime fans.
Think hentai is only for men? Ever go to a convention? I always see a whole bunch of girls dressed up as hentai characters. haha. There was another guy who used to cosplay as Howie-Chew, a mix of howard stern and chewbacca, from some old hentai that was a mix of star wars and sailor moon.

I have no problem with hentai, but i just hate the ones where they have meaningless sex all the time. Though i guess that keeps certain ppl entertained. (Which equals more money for the studio or publisher whatever.)
