ok, I know that most, if not all of us are otaku, but does anyone actually have an interest in the Japanese culture like music, literature, or customs?

I like the japanses culture, I am very slowly learning the language wich can take a long time trying to learn it from fansubs XD. and all I listen to is pretty much j-pop. And there are sometimes I wish I was Japanese :), but I'm not and never will be.

Visiting Japan you will learn quickly some sayings. I have japanese friends and they talk to me so I have to learn or just have a black stare. LOL. Im still in the 2-3rd grade in reading and writing though. I find it better/easier for me to read japanese. its just memorizing kanji and kata/hira.

Indeed I am. I have this feeling that I was Japanese in a past life. In Yokohama. Around the year 1100. Is that too specifi?
:D But seriously. I am planning on doing the JET program in the next few years hopefully. I got some Japanese language lessons on CD, and I love sushi!!! Aww gawd, sushi is probably my favorite food. Well, I like to paint sumi-es, and I've been reading up on Shinto, which is quite fascinating. Not sure what else to tell you, but I love most things Japanese, and I can't wait to go over there :).

I've been interested in Japanese culture ever since I was a kid! The more I age, the more I'm into Japanese stuff! This includes:
Games: I always dreamt of working for them in Japan ever since I was a kid
Music: JPop, JRock, Japanese Composers (esp. Yasunori Mitsuda)
History: I keep on learning about Western history all the time, what about the east? To me, it's a mystery that World History is always about the WEST (no offense to anyone) but why? I tried to do a research about the Shinsengumi but changed my mind because of the lack of English resouces >.<
Language: Finally learned both Kana! Kanji? I'm aiming for that =)
Hairstyle: Not yet into it, maybe if I went to Japan....
Customs: Really interesting. What's with the tea ceremony? So many shrouded things that I have no idea about.....ok....I should stop now or the list will never end ^^"
