Anime Revolutionist

Cancel

For anime and getting things translated into english consists of a work of a team that does it. It is then turned into fansubs, uploaded in the internet and shown for free to the public. For anime games that never come to America is it possible to make it a sub and translate it? Pobably not since the PSP discs come in UMD formats and the future PS3 will come in another disc format. However it could help a lot of anime gamers if they want. For example we could get rid of that region disc coding that sony puts for every product except in PSP games. Also we could actually read it because not a lot of people read Japanese. Could there be some way to do it?

As Karl Marx had said in the last sentence of the "Communist Manifesto,"
"Anime fans around the world unite!"
Create a revolution for anime.

There are groups that translate games, many old Japanese games that never made it outside Japan for snes, NES and Genesis have been translated by translation groups. Quite a few GBA Games have also been tranlsated.

There are also groups that translate the Kinetic Novels or whatever they are called for PC and some group if I'm not mistaken even did some small translations for the Pro Evolution Soccer games for ps2.

but Translating games is far more complicated than translating anime or manga, sometimes game translations take several months or even years to complete. For example when tranlsating an RPG the group has A LOT of work to do from translating the main dialogue and menu commands to tranlsating each and every item, NPC dialogue and what not.

Plus translating games requers programming knowledge, you can't just change the text from Japanese to english and make it work. That's why the more recent games like PS1, PS2 and XBox games rarely if ever get tranlsated and don't count on PSP games to be translated.
