Lately, lest ya been living under a rock, there has been a scandalous and vile trade of Gore for Porn issue all over the
news on how soldiers based in Iraq is trading the pictures of war dead for their own pleaure of downloading porn....!
First thought, i thought that is so totally in disrespect to the dead, it is pathetic, sickening and totally immoral
like no other. much like the abu ghaid case of suffering prisoners by the wardens...!
I thought out from all that skin of evolution into a humane, controlled, logical, morally educated and good mind of a
human being can actually do that!!!
I thought surprisingly, soldiers should be well trained not to do such things isn't that right, even in war....!
I thought the fella who started it all should be whisked out in the public and apologize to them war dead soldiers and
also the families of those unidentified corpses!
what the hell is this world coming to....???
Really, please be kind and reply a bit on this thread, would be good if you can tell me how you feel about all this vile

the news you can see almost eveyrwhere, most metro newspapers and times have reported on the issue, although lately it is the hurricane issue that marks the frontpage, however, check out your local newstands, you should see them....
I find this totally abusive, the nature of human beings to use one another for his or her won manipulations and benefit and this is so totally unfair to them war dead.
they may not be standing on the good or bad side even though somhow the world's majority view is that they are communists and terrorist, they are only doing their job as soldiers to defend their country from which they are born, why oh why must they humiliate them after they are dead.....?
the least is that they could have them a proper burial.
i mean, look, at all the movies and dramas where soldiers bury each other in respect for their counterparts and simply as soldiermen, this is so totally unbelieveable.i know real life is nothing like that, in fact most of the time we just gather them corpses and burn gthem by large numbers to eliminate diseases and such, bus stil, it is better than these bastards using them for their Kodak Moment, say cheese to the camera....so that i can get my pronography downloads.....
even they are human, they deserve what they deserve as human, a respect!
if you ask me, i thought americans and these british troops based in iraq are actually more to inhuman beast than what they are born to as humans!

It's inevitable in war. Making light of death in this way is basically a way of coping with it. If they kept thinking of death in the same way as we do, a lot of them would probably go insane. It's just an inevitable consequence of invading other people's countries in this way.

Soldiers will always see death and killing differently than a civilian would. It comes with the job. If they didn't trivialize it they'd go nuts.

isn't bad enough to invade others....now that you got that the least is that ya can find some other ways to better pass your time or distract oneself....
have a firing round of fake ammunition, training sessions, go for drinks by setting up community bars....polish your shoes(by god, that is boring), but anything is better than trading dead people for pictures...
don't anyone see the equation of that RESPECT=PORN?

Well, at Livejournal [.com] right now, a lot of people are posting the location of one of the articles, and all of us pretty much hate it. I mean, that really is immoral and uneccassary, taking mutilated photos of your "enemy". Where is the respect for the dead? Quite frankly, I don't even think we should be at war anymore - if the soldiers are reduced to taking sick pictures of Iraq soldiers just for porn, then I say stop. D:

I would... never do that. First off, because it is immorally wrong, even if it is the most special manga in the entire world - and even if I did that, I would feel very, very guilty. ;; Second of all, I can't stand gore or blood in real life in color. I seriously get sick, and... Well, yeah. :|great say, however, one can only pity at how soldiers as such have degraded themselves to such acts, i say they are more tyranical, they are not only sick, they are unacceptable....
i have been a soldier once, National Service Trainee, i have held my fair share of real guns, (i got some contacts), i have seen people die, but i know what is right and what is wrong....
this is so sick, soldiers begin with the course call mutual respect!

It's probably just a few behind it all and not wide spread as you're making this out to be if it's actually happening at all. And is it any different than what the insurgents did when after killing some foreigners, dragging their bodies and hanging them from a bridge and setting them on fire.
Or does any of you remember Somalia(sp?) You know the Blackhawk Down incident? Where people dragged the bodies of dead soldiers through the streets.
Plenty of outrage when a few US soldiers do this, and they should be punished, but almost nothing when terrorists and insurgents desicrate the dead. Hypocracy.

not that i have to say it, that incident was wrong because those people are insurgents and that they are like terrorist as you mentioned, thay would have known no shame or such, they are fanatics who would have done what they are told to do and go one extra mile to make things worse.
for the US soldier i have to voice out because they are supposed to be defending the interest of the good and righteous am i correct?
if so, doing such things will only spoil their image and system.

Devildude you stated the story a little skewed. Heres a better explanation of what happpen.

The site requires a one time fee to access it. However, soldiers in Iraq cannot use credit cards or have any other methods of sending money, therefore the site owner, in a show of generosity posted that if you were serving in Iraq, and sent an image proving you were indeed a soldier there, then you would be granted access to the site.
Now this was fine, people would send images of themselves standing with their rifles, or leaning against a tank, or standing with their troopmates. However, after a while, some people decided that "proof they were in Iraq" included sending gorey images, and so they did. This was pretty isolated at first, however after some time people on the site started to want to see more of these "insiders images" from Iraq (in that every image submitted to the webmaster as proof that they served in Iraq was put in their profile gallery because this site revolves around members and their pictures) And before you knew it, some soldiers started submitting vast quantities of gore filled images from the battlefields, and the site's other users from around the world kept demanding more. So this whole thing turned into soldiers putting more gore up if the other site members put more porn up, and it got out of control.

hmmm....i am sure there must be better ways to turn to, and for a fact that do they need to do that. i mean this does hurt the national reputation and that can be bad for both sides.
this does not make it any better than what i have said earlier. they are only destroying their image as the well educated , well trained, well decorated soldier who are defending their country, and honestly, this shows me one thing, they are no better than those terrorists. better off they are said as sick.ok, the fact is this, they are fighting a war, do they need to do that?
do they have to have porn so badly that they are willing to trade for it?
using such things as glorifying the death of soldiers in gory pictures?out of control it indeed is.
