I salute you.

Alright, now what do you think of this imagine if your friends who did not survive, the pictures were taken and then traded for the same thing? I mean, how would you have reacted to the fact that they humilated these shots with stupid captions and then posted them as "comedy" cause, I have seen a fair share of thes obscene shots, although they are the bodies of the dead iraqis.

How would you have felt if that is the case?

On a side note, i can understand your quitting as for running a convoy as a gunner, you have your own reasons. and I respect that.

and the soldiers...

However it works, though, the idea of people staring at MY mutilated body for whatever sick pleasure they derive from it incites disgust and hatred buried so deep I can't even begin to describe it...

Joke...hahaha, well i guess, the idea is that some people are necrophilliac, but these people just take the photos of corpses and sold to internet for pornographic material in return. I guess one can call a fair trade, but i absolutely disagree with the trading material included. Porn is alright, but gory pictures of those war dead...?

How does that work, anyway? Who do they give the pictures to? Is it like, the soldiers line up, give --- their picture, --- takes a look, says "great, okay, right this way" and ushers the soldier to a room where a porn site is set up on the computer...? Sorry if I haven't seen this in the news.

No it doesn't work that way......Its like trading wallpapers, really. Only your trading files. You see a clip you like on someones laptop (not the governments they look through those). You show him your collection. He sees something he likes. The you whip out you flash cards, copy the files to your card then upload them on your laptop. That simple.I don't know how this internet thng came about; everyone I knew used Limewire as their source; its free and You always have what you are looking for. They don't have access to US soldiers. Those are kept away and soon deleted therafter.

oh so that is how it works...
perhaps that is why it became a widespread problem that was exposed to the world, so originally it was meant to be a private trade.
oh well, at least if they keep quiet about it, it would have been better for the rest of them, no matter what they do, the people wont know and that is a certain reassurance of peace for these people.

You think ours pictures are morbid? You haven't seen nothing yet! A while back, we got access to some Iraqi videos of torturing and beheadings. They handled (decapitated) humans like they were cattle! But one stays etched in my memory:
if you have Limewire, do a search for unknown russian soldier. You think pictures were disgusting........try that video. It shows the behading of a Russian Soldier by the Taliban. Its horrible!

What I am trying to let some people know that what you hear and see down in Iraq isn't America at her finest. This is her at war. And War isn't Hollywood. You think that a little huniliation and deprived of light is torture? Try being tied by your foot, held upside down and beaten across the sole of your feet with a bamboo cane for voicing a difference of opinion during Saddams Regime. Then relased with no medical attention. Those are one of many videos I came across down there. But I want you all to see the Unknown Russian Soldier. We never take it that far. Make me think about those contractors who were captured then beheaded by Iraqi insurgents. They weren't combatants, they were civilians with families also.

i see....indeed there is worse, Hollywood in real life is not, i guess you have a point.
from what you have described, you mention some pretty hard core tortures. i must say it sounds really far worse than what i would have described.

Again, thank you for your insight. I shall look up for the unknown russian soldier and i will see to what extend is that.

When stuff like that gets out, its normally done by someone trying to either be popular, get even at someone higher, or at the most sense, get thrown out of the military. We keep stuff like that amonst ourselves, eventually they are deleted before even leaving the combat zone. Nevertheless, the more bad publicity that comes out of soldiers files, and mouths, is gonna make it harder for those who will deploy there next.

Don't ask for any more. To be honest my heart rate went up when I found that it is still in Limewire, but the file names have been altered.

Try staying out in a hot desert loaded with a gun and heavy outfit with no one of the opposite sex in sight.. for a few months.
