I did a quick search and found nothing on this (hopefully) and figured this is a good category... if not feel free to move it to spam.

I know I'm meant to be "dead" on Mt atm, but I can't stop thinking about this and I need your help!

The competition I am trying to describe is like the current W.A.R, but the one in my mind is a *lot* different... in the respect of the aims and um... just yeah.

So could people please give me some suggestions...

I've heard from people... giving people anime as a prize... (wt...)
I don't exactly have "scans" to give out to people as a prize but I can offer my userpage and signature as advertisement. Plus something else bonus.

Is this enough to motivate you to compete? Or do I need to find 10 willing people to advertise winning entries... or do people not find that attractive at all?

Or will people be happy if I made them little cute jpegs of crowns?

Or will people be happy with nothing?

Or will people be happy with titles?

Or will people be happy with an upgraded status in a group due to this competition?

I won't go on forever, but I just wanna know what people look forward to receiving in a competition and what is enough to motivate someone to join.

( Because I will be motivated as long as it's fun... but others might not think so )

I need your help guys! Thanks in advance!

re: the contest... you really got me interested in this competittion of yours. is it individual or group based? open to every1 or a few people in a group? etc.

prizes: well i would be more than willing to offer my humble collection of scans as prizes.. i have many artbooks which would interst almost anyone. heck, i even have books which i don't even care for. lol
and if a few others did the same we could have a serious prize list.

i would avoid sending anime- 2 expensive..

As for the competition I don't know how big or open it is... I already have the guidelines for three rounds *eheheheh*

Um... this competition... well I don't want to give away too much of it (in case nobody wants to enter T_T big possibility)

But yeah... don't know the extent of the competition yet---

smaller than w.a.r but bigger than the ua fortnightly comps.
Anonymous judges and all... with added humour ;)
And there will even be a regulatory judge I shall call the scaler *stops going into detail*

Now about the competition prizes... NO anime ... i also think that they are too expensive (and people can easyaly get it by doind illigal suff... downloading, that is)

. It can be scans... i think for lower prizes
. userpage making for medium prizes
. and titles like some points or soo here on mt

... i think that people would be very motivated to participate in a competition with prizes ... but i also think that the most important prize is to do your wallies with love, because when you finish, you think '' I did it ... and it's beautiful'' ...... don't you think???

I love contests! Personally, as long as the contest is fun and challenging i'm likely to enter. But it's contests that are too challenging that make people shy away, so it's a tricky thing.

As far as prizes are concerned, it depends on the person, so a variety thing would be best. Maybe a couple of things to choose from. Personally, if someone would clean a scan of my choice, i'd enter any contest. That's just a very lazy waller talking, though :P Maybe a small award graphic for their profile, something that sets them apart from everyone else on the forum?

i agree, it would be fun to get a few people to add prizes to the list. I could contribute, since i'm always shopping at the anime store here in San Diego anyways. I could offer a couple things to choose from, or a little prize pack made by me, or something. I'd love to be involved - anything that gives me a reason to shop for anime is a good thing in my book :P

What I was intending on doing was getting all participants to donate a prize :D

It doesn't have to be a scan, but um, it was like this:

Misa says: she will give the winner a video of herself doing the moonwalk

I was going to compile a list, and um, yeah-

what happens is that the higher you get ie. if you come first second or third, your donated prize gets crossed off the list.

The winner will pick a random number--- so all the losers have an equal chance of getting their donated prize picked.
I was thinking all participants must um donate a prize >_> It could be i will make them a wall or i will send them a squiggle so it's really a "mystery prize".

it sounds rather um... stupid at the moment... but uhhh... there *is* a point to the name of the comp... >_< just... I never thought I would name it that... T_T

But okay... since people will be pretty much satisfied with anything from having a userpage made to a scan being extracted (I can do that easily) then I spose then it's uhhh okay @_@

About prizes... in my opinion, prizes isn't something important. As ong as I win, that's considered as a very good prize. A prize of people recognizing your works which stands out first and top?

If you'd asked me, I'd be *glad* to make a doujin for them. That... depending on what they want me to draw. And also whether it has to be coloured or left white and black. But eheh, it's just an idea from me. I don't have so many scans myself, and I dont do good in banners, sigs and userpage.

And yesh, I'll be looking forward for you doing the moonwalk. ^^

And oh boy, I have a bad feeling about the title of that competition... Well, anyways, I'm back from test and... yeah, I'm now officially free for anything!

i would do it just for the sake of doing it as well. but if you really wanted to offer prizes, you could offer me a promise that youll write a book! that and give me a free copy to read. i would definately read a book that you wrote. plus, it would give me something to do while im at work instead of sitting around waiting for phone calls. lol i think that a book from you would definately be the greatest prize anyone here at mt could offer! unless perhaps somebody else has written a book... and would like to give me a copy!!!!

eh~~ cant really answer you this quest.. becoz i think that if you are interested in the competition, you will automatically compete regardless of any prizzie.. since competition is held in MT instead of real life.. there's really nothing that can satisfy us in competing.. <-- that's my personal feeling~~ >_<

Prizes : i don't know, i don't join contests (because i don't draw or anything), but i guess one might be happy to have his / her wall up the group(s) page that get the contest going, that's a good advertisement isn't it, and a lot of recognition. then if ppl don't join for the sake of having fun / sharing work but in order to get something from it, let them go to more official contest ne? MT is a place to have fun i say. but otherwise you can send them pics of the contest's organizators ^_^ (i'd love that)

about the upgraded status, i don't think it'll work that much, because in most of the clubs that actually do the contests, the members are all admins :), so there's nothing to upgrade lol.

anyway i hope that helps, good luck with your contest, i hope maybe this one i can get in (given the title lol, sounds pretty appealing btw XP).
