i agree with coordinator it is hard to fall in love with a person that you havent seen face to face in the case that you do fall in love with a MTer just think about all the bad things that that person could be and that will cure you.
and coordinator if you keep power people like me will always be there to take it away and use it for ourselves but nice use of Dullindal quote though. and power is a way of comforting yourself and hiding your insecurities power is not necessary if you live in a world without arrogance.

I guess you're right about not knowing who you're really talking to, it could be some wacko rather than the friend you thought it was. Unfortuneatly for me, I believe all MTers when they say they're a certain age and gender, because I think MT is n honest place with no lies, but then again people lie all the time, even your very best friend.

For those who do not know the story, I am actually with an MT member right now. So far, it has been 5 to 6 months that I've talked to the girl. She pledged to never leave me for any reason, and after a few months, I believed her. I have seen her picture for myself, not only by an image file, but by webcam. A webcam is certainly the most evident means of getting to know how a person looks since it's live. Yes, the person may still not be truthful about things, like location and age, but the webcam will tell a lot more than just a bunch of words. Thanks to the webcam, I now have the girlfriend of my dreams, but all I must do is get past college to live with her. On vacations, I pay a visit. It's that simple if the person on the other side trusts you and you trust the person. I love you, toxictea23. <3

*sniff* that's such a sweet story! :) I wish I had a webcam, but my step-dad hates them.
I think we should all trust each other about our ages and locations, and if anyone's lying, then I see no point.

I think maybe someone could fall in love online, but it would be really hard if you ask me

I think it is possible to fall in love... but like asuza stated, sometimes it's infatuation.
For those who really are in love, anything is possible then, it's just a matter of time and hard work.I personally have expirienced something like this not long ago... Unfortunately, I did not return his love, hence why it didn't work out... I doubt I could ever fall in love though

You can't fall in true love online. Some people can believe so for various reasons, but in the end it's not truth. For me something like that is weird and not satisfing. It doesn't have the soul and charm of true love unfolding in the real life.
I guess it could be possible to have some feelings, see eachother on webcams, meet after a few months. But I'm not convinced that it's a strong feeling that will last.up up and away

I would agree with everyone thats its impossible to love someone that you can't really see, hear, or touch.
I also like someone in MT and its pretty hard to explain, but at least u have someone that really cares about u from far away. Well isn't kinda the same thing with friends then? I mean we are making friends that are still strangers to u.
well what would i know.. its possible to meet in person.. and be able to live with ur lover.
