ive watched the ffVII advent children movie, the fighting was awesome, but it looked like a xbox/ps2/gamecube game........ is this really anime? its way different from all other anime I've seen.....

i don't really think you can categorize this as anime... it's technically a CG FMV (Computer Graphic Full Motion Video), or a CG animation..
And it was something of a sequel to the hit PSone game , Final Fantasy VII...

At least that's what i know...

Many people mistake Final Fantasy (All Original Productions) to be Anime but really it isnt

no, i wouldn't consider ff:ac anime at all, but there is no denying that ffvii was anime-styled, as are a lot of games like say Zelda and such.

Oh first of all ffvii AC isn't an anime it's more like a CG animated movie like the one you watch on video games that's why you have found it similar to the ones you usee on PS2/Xbox
but I can't say either that it looks like any CGs it kinda makes you feel that it's true and realistic in a way because of the high quality graphics they used!!!

well i think it IS anime as there are alot of cg anime out there. It is just another way of producing it, you could get ff7 ac and draw and it would still be awsome.

The way its animated shouldnt make it anime or not.

It's definatly not traditional anime style that you would usually see in many of your favorit shows. It's more like a CG but better then anything I have ever seen before. So........... lets give it, its own catagory.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children is not an anime, it's an animated movie, but ffvii Last order IS an anime, check it out ;)

FF7 started out as a game, like all other final fantasy game. Then in the US, they made Spirits Within (which was my god...I dunno...very non-FF like CG movie), and now, FF7:AC was just a continuation of where FF7 the game left off.

It depends what do you think an anime is.
Anime is "Animation" in Japanese, and tha FFVII AC was an animation.
If "Wallace and Grommit" was made in Japan, it was some kind of anime.
We in the Ocident call the 2D japanese animation as ANIME. Period.
And 3D, CG alike animation, as something else. We hear about FMV, etc.
So, for the most of people, FFVII AC isn't an anime. For me is an Action
Movie ....

this anime, movie or enything you think, but their animation is awesome and I think no one can say othe thing diferent, is like Appleseed, some of us thinking is great but wen you compare the old version with this new, one or more asked why Masamune change the roll of every character, so I think is the same, we are compare this one with the game and much of us are only doing this comparation, so I say it's a very good adaptation from the game. by the way, the anime and the CG are both great if don't who can say anithing from macross pluss, there is a very good axample from animation and CG combination.
